Although I like the stats on the Blood Dragon and Inferno armors, I refuse to wear them because I can't turn the helm off. I understand having a helmet in certain areas, to symbolize a hostile environment. It's the walking around Illium with a helmet on I find annoying, Shephard isn't a quarian after all.

Agreed.
Having non-combat conversations through my helmet , going up to the bar and slamming back a cold alien drink straight into my helmet, puking on the bathroom floor into my helmet... that is one nasty helmet...

A toggle would be great. Oh, and goatman42's problem could be fixed as well.

Someone mentioned Dragon Age Helmets. On pc, there is even a mod for people who don't want the helmets to show up on combat (but still be equipped). It's great, I use it
.
I also pre-ordered the ME2 deluxe and have collectors, inferno, and dragon age armor. Like a vast majority of players I never, ever equip them. Do I like the game? Hell, yes! Am I disappointed with customization options? To put it lightly. I won't go into the whole 'heavy armor only' thing, as it, at least slightly modable and you CAN add lighter armor suits if you put time into messing with .ini file.
I love the look of the collectors' armor. I think Dragon age one is neat. I had quite a few chuckles reading the description on DA armor, an Earthborn Shepard would probably get a kick of wearing it
. But I am too much of an aethetics person, and I spent way too much time creating the faces of my characters to get stuck with a non-removable helmet.
Will I buy DLCs with other armor if the issue persists? Likely, but it would be to support a developer I like, NOT because I would use the product. And honestly, that makes me a little sad.

I saw someone earlier post the idea that the helmet could fold back into your armor like the weapons do when you're not in combat. I can't think of a better idea. That's awesome. Obviously it's probably too much to add in a patch, but definitely think about it for ME3. I don't use any of the DLC armors, or even a helmet, because I want to see the face I spent several hours making (plus a few playthroughs deciding how to make it perfect.) If that helmet didn't get in the way while not in combat (because who wears their helmet just walking around the store?) I'd be all over some of the stuff I got to download.

Please Bioware Please, listen to the people.
You have crafted an excellent game with a flaw that niggles at all your fans, even the casual ones. The bonus armors are useless to almost all who play the game because it removes the facial expressions that make conversation great, something that your animators probably worked tirelessly on.
Let us use the armors you made and be able to take them off. It was so simple in ME1 lets see it again.

yea that was the first thing i thought when i got into the cutscenes. take off the helmets. it looks really funny when everyone else around you aren't wearin one except for the main character.
it just reminds me of for example. someone wearin' a motorcycle helmet walkin' around indoors talkin' to people the whole time with it on. looks weird.
plus it made my promo inferno arm useless.

Throwing in my support.

I'm adding my support. ME2 is a fantastic game, but what's the point of Bioware spending all that time on facial structure, lip-synching, emotional animation and making it so we can have our own Shepard only to make wearing a completely opaque helmet over it all a mandatory proposition when wearing DLC armour? Makes no sense.

This wouldn't be a big deal if it wasn't an option in the first game. Why take it out?
Please patch this ... it's a small thing but it would make a lot of people happy.

I agree, counter productive I think.

+1 on that fix. I was really dissappointed when I switched on my Inferno Armor and went to my first meeting with the Illusive Man, only to see that my character is still wearing his helmet.

The easiest solution I can see is this:
In the squad menu simply have X be the toggle button for helmets, because X isn't used at all in that screen!
I would love to put my squad helmets on as well, I love Thane in his 'recon hood' that he equiped on the Collector ship.

Seriously, Bioware needs to make it so that we can take those helmets off at the very least.

I concur, What's the point in putting all that work into the facial expressions and acting if you can't even see them.

I agree, make an option for this please BioWare.

Support thrown in. I absolutely LOVE the Blood Dragon Armour. The helmet is meh. Point being, I would totally wear it if the helmet was toggle-able.

I support this too... I think that the Blood Dragon Armor is neat, but I don't want to look like a volus or a quarian who also have those blinking lights on their helmets that pulse in rythm with your speech.

I also think that you should be able to sorta customize your DLC armor. And wouldnt it be cool if you could customize your own weapons ? Like the looks

Mission Fail= Helmets wont come off. I mean even Shepard when he was falling towards the planet in the opening scenes tried to take his helmet off OMG! LOL! If Camander Shepard wants it off, we his adoring fans want it off too! Helmet+ Super Glue= Helmet Fail! PATCH IT!

Completely agreed. It was such a ..weird choice to:
1)Have helmet toggle inactive this time around, especially on DLC armor sets.
2)Have this whole 'customize Shepard's armor!' thing, while characters like Jack rush into battle with..well, nearly nothing.
