Mission Fail= Helmets wont come off. I mean even Shepard when he was falling towards the planet in the opening scenes tried to take his helmet off OMG! LOL! If Camander Shepard wants it off, we his adoring fans want it off too! Helmet+ Super Glue= Helmet Fail! PATCH IT!

The commander didn't try to take it off in that opening scene, he/she tried to fix the seal of the helmet... no one wants to die in space... freeze-drying is painful I believe ;)

This thread gets my support.

As much as I like the DLC armours, it would've been nicer to have them modular and adjustable like the N7 armour. They're especially useful early in the game with a new character, but it's a real downer when you don't get to see your character's face, and for that very reason I don't use them.

P.S: more alternative casual clothing options would be a bonus too. They could be extra shops items perhaps.

Yup, I know it was a joke. Trying to make light of the whole helmet thing. This Mass Effect 2 Version Of the Return to Ostagar Fail.

What are the chances that they gotta a remove Helmet option? Oh BTW I was thinking that maybe you could add a toggle function where you select your team after you exit the Normandy

I support this! The only time my special armors see the light of day is what.... 3 missions? 4? Let me count... yea... *spoilers* Heretic Station, Flotilla, Derelict Reaper, and Disabled Collector Ship. 4. Thats just sad.

/signed Its prolly one of the worse design decisions I've seen Bioware make so far in all the years of buying and playing their titles. Well that and the complete elimination of any sort of inventory/ lack of significant upgrading. ME2 is esentially a shooter with an actual story at this point and barely an RPG.

The quoted was the only part relivant to the thread's topic and request for support. Thanks, but dont derail this into a ME2 ****ing please.

I'll only use the DLC armours if BioWare patch this. Seriously, it's annoying as hell. I import my character, and I can't even see him! Then I feel awkward for the entire campaign. If this isn't patched, then they're just gonna waste in the armoury.

Bioware, I am extremely disappointed in your laziness in failing to offer a helmet toggle option for DLC armors. Immersion breaking "Why am I wearing a helmet right now?" scenes make the DLC seem cheap and shoddy.

I sign this too.

All armors total waste of money , they usefull in game, but ruining cut-scene expirience totaly, so after 1-2 cutscenes where u can see no emotions or anything but helmet, u have no other choice but to switch to original armor which works the way Mass Effect 1 worked.

ITs looks like armor was done very quick and nobody even checked useability of it, which is another chunk of poor gamedesign in ME 2.

Aslo i dont understand why extra armors not customizable??

P.S. - What the hell happening with all sequells these days?

Fear 2, Modern Warfare 2, Now Mass Effect 2 - they all have worst game design than part 1, less time to play, less features, less everything comparing to original.
ME 2 not even RPG anymore(( Bioware, heave u heard the rule - "Dont fix something until it broken" ?

I am also in support of the special armor, we paid extra for, to be customizable like the N7 armor. It would only stand to reason that you could research the armor improvements on the other armors.

Sigh . . . there is a small part of me that hopes they will actually change this. It actually believes that there is a chance. However, i have never heard of a game update changing something like this. For any game. Patches are patches, not upgrades. Does anyone know of older bioware games that fix tiny things like this?

I apsolutly agree, i too wish

1) a helmet on/off switch, and (maybe something that can be enabled in config)

2) a feature that disables helmet during conversation, unless it's vital for survival.

Not only weapons cabinets somewhere in the missions (cos sometimes you need a specific weapon to succeed) but also

3) armor cabinets to change you're outfit (or slip into something more casual when in a city, i can imagine that de casual outfits will work for non combat).

4) little more casual armors, cos most of them look pretty lame to me.

A well i know this are these are minor issues, but the will greatly enhance the conversations.

Yeah, the total lack of customisation of the DLC armours are a major drawback from their selection and it seems slightly nonsensical - the Blood Dragon armour in Dragon Age is component based, why not have something vaguely similar for ME2?  Having said that - the new N7 armour is pretty shmick anyway.

As for Knobody13's question on patches with little fixes like that: NWN patch 1.69 added a cloak to the model and an option to make a worn cloak visible or not.

I support this too. For now I'll wear the DLC-armors just for the N7 missions. Any other missions or places I wear N7 without helmet.

I will place my support for the call to be able to toggle helmets on or off. I certainly don't mind them being forced on when the environment demands it but not when it doesn't. One reason why my Inferno armour was used none of the time I played.

Customisation of the armour would be a nice (albeit large) patch which I don't see happening tbh.

If not a helmet toggle, then at least have conversations other than the mid or post-battle ones (say, the convos in hubs like Omega, Tuchanka, the Citadel, etc.) feature Shepard without his/her helmet, if said helmet happens to be a full one. Leave the open version of the N7 helmet and the various visors as they are.

What I'd like to see just as much as this would be adding full-seal helmets or even suits for Miranda and Co. for when you're taking them on hazardous environment missions. Grunt and Garrus have them, and they look _good_. Would it be so difficult to replace those breathing masks with, say, something like the Inferno-armor clear-facial-plate helmet for Miranda, a recon-hood for Jack, etc?

Both of these would really help with immersion. If they did both with one patch,it would be awesome.

Yep - hereby adding voice to calls for helmet toggle - whether an actual button or something that removes it during dialogue/binge-drinking sessions, doesn't matter much to me... as long as it's done :-)
