This is my problem - I keep trying to imagine ways that Shepard could plant the seed of romantic interest, without coming off as sleazy, and they never work.

Shepard being forward and assertive with her makes it seem as if he's trying to tell her that he knows what's best for her.  Obviously not true.

The only real proper way I can think of is for Shepard to express simple interest, and leave it at that.  No one is going to force Samara's hand, that's for sure, so it's up for her to decide what to do with Shepard's expressed interest, in this situation.

Absolutely true.

I love and appreciate conversations like these, they are very mature disscusions and if we disagree we can have civilized conversations and not just say "**** you your wrong."

I tip my hat to you york.

Thanks, friend.  :)

Will you all stone me to death if I admit that on my Renegade Soldier playthrough, Ashley Shepard chose Morinth over Samara? I really just wanted to see what would happen, and to get the Morinth Normandy dialogue.

Actually the real reason is that Ashley Shepard always does the most evil thing possible: everything I would not do, she does. So it was only natural that she would choose the serial killer over the samurai. It is fascinating to hear Morinth's side of the story, but she's no less a monster for all that she has her own point of view.

I will say this for Morinth, she is an adversary worthy of Samara.

Does this seem less sleazy than the in-game version? http://www.fanfictio...d_FarOff_Things

I ask because I don't know if you've had alot already. But, alright. I hope you've not had too many like these yet. ^_^

Samara is a little hindered by the fact her recruitment and loyalty missions don't have many great screenshot opportunities, but still, I like these enough to make up for it. Either way, enjoy!

And she has higher health.... though I only choose her when my Shepard is Darth Shepard.  It is fun using group dominate on a cluster of husks.  Though honestly....

Blasphemy!!!

Na serioulsy Morinth is part of the game and if you don't at least pick her once or twice and exhaust all dialog with her, then you haven't exhausted the potential of the game IMO.
She is interesting and fits right into an evil Shepard's mindset IMO.

I've had her dialogue through Gibbed Save Editor, and her power. Honestly; not worth it.
Interesting character though.

Yep... got it out of the motivationals thread.  It's on my Morinth group page as well.  Though like I said... I play Paragon so I don't usually choose Morinth (unless I'm really trying to do a Renegade playthrough).

She is only worth using on Veteran and below.  On hardcore and insanity all enemies have armor, barrier or shields so her dominate power is pointless.

This is similar to my thoughts about it concerning how the story and dialog are written anyway.  One could make the argument though, that with some women you nearly have to push it a little at first if your going to get anywhere with them romantically.  You have to at least show confidence and show that you are willing to pursue them to a certain degree before giving up.  Not saying that this is the case with Samara specifically though.  I have always been of the impression that Samara is out of Shep's league in the confines of how it is written in ME2.

I personally think Dominate is pretty weak compared to Reave. Reave stops regeneration and immobilizes the target, and works on any enemy, while Dominate just sets the organics to fighting amongst themselves. It's like a Combat Drone that only works with organics.

As a woman of some maturity, I'd agree with this. Unless a man shows clear interest in me, I don't give him a second thought. Life is too short to pursue romantic partners that might be interested. Of course most of the time even when they do show interest, I do not reciprocate the interest. I'm pretty independent in that way. I completely understand Samara's rebuff of Shepard's advances.

Reave is great... I use it on my vanguards.  I'm just saying it is funny to watch dominate.  Also... Morinth has higher health than Samara.  If you max ardat-yakshi then she has 280 health (equal to Jacob).  That means her health is second only to Grunt.

Why's that?    Does she count as a different class than Samara?

I didn't know that about Morinth's health.  She still has throw and pull.  So do you prefer Samara in combat on higher levels and Morinth on lower levels?

I don't know.  It's just something in game.  Perhaps it's the "consumption of lives" part so she has more health because she grow stronger when she kills.
