I wouldn't call those decisions abuse though. You have to be nice to Tali to get the romance to continue, right?
All you have to do to continue the romance is do her loyalty mission, talk to her, she makes a pass at you, and you accept. If you do either of the other two dialog options she never brings it up again.
Still, being mean towards Tali only to then get a romance with her is pretty messed up.
But that doesn't make sense to somebody who actually cares for Tali. That sounds more like an experiment to see than anything else. If truly care for Tali you wouldn't do those things.
Maybe so, but there still should have been some in-game mechanic for it, other than simply doing a Loyalty mission and then "I want you inside me Shepard. ^___________________^".
Akin to why I worry that Renegades could romance Samara, if they do make her a LI. It would be so much BS.
Well, it's interesting how romances 'feel' different depending on your role. Personally, I found my romance with Miranda very satisfying as a Paragon who objected to Cerberus and challenged her on it every chance he got...made her final decision to leave feel like a culminating moment of her arc.
Similiarly, if you're renegade and romance Tali, it feels like Tali is so blinded by her Shepard fangirl-ism (or his incredible charisma) to notice that he's a terrible person.
Which is where I give the Jack romance a lot of credit, because it actually has seperate paths.
I don't see you influencing Samara to be more 'renegade', though, like you can with other LIs. Someone a thousand years old is pretty set in their ways, I assume.
