It's doable in my opinion. You do have a point though, but most people probably get used to Shepard's voice after a while I reckon because they have to use him/her. Only used Samara for her Loyalty mission and the events beyond the Omega 4 relay. Perhaps that's why I regarded it as peculiar each time I heard her voice.

I think some of this has to do with being able to identify with his/her own gender's vocal inflections.  At least partly anyway.:P  I think it also depends a little on which Shep one plays the most, and the voice kinda grows on some people depending on that.  Personally, I don't care a whole lot for Meer's or  Hale's voices as Shepard.  They both sound very monotone and bland to me.

hmm...*blink*...thats a few play throughs at this point.
Legion for tech      Jack for Biotic    Mordin for escort

Garrus Fireteam 1       Garrus fireteam 2

Used Samara and Tali to fight through the whole mission.
 
A far as VA's go I'm a Hale fan to a degree she hits most of the time. Meer, thats a different story. I couldn't stand him in ME, but I thought he did a lot better this time. Still... I think Jello Biafra would have done a bettter jobPosted Image

I think she's pretty in a very natural way. There are far too many barbie doll look-alike Shepards around.
Give me a minute, I think I'll dig through my screenshot folder for good snapshots of everyone's favourite Justicar.
