Shepard: "I'm glad you enjoyed it. I have some more, if you want it, Samara. Uh...Samara?"
Samara is fixated on the twinkling stars and galaxies in the distance.
Shepard: "Samara...?"
Samara: "Those suns are so far off, maaaaaan, but, like...I can crush them with my fingers..."
Samara holds up one of her hands, pretending to crush a star between her index finger and thumb.
Shepard: "Haha, oh wow..."

I loved itThe part where the helicopter's shields were disabled (not ruining anything here am I?) was the best bit to me
That was a pretty cool cut scene wasn't it. I really like her VA too.

Yeah the pc download was just under a gig. I have a 10mb connection but the download was still slow last night for me. Guess the servers were a little clogged.BlackMetal wrote...

It's also way better than Planet Australia DLC (aka Zaeed) as well. More variety and you can tell they put in the time and effort on it. Nothing is recycled (not even the musical score). Also... Kasumi has funny dialogue when you bring her on other missions (she also wants Jacob).

Actually, the casual humour is balancing the in-depth Samara analysis... So we keep the discussion fun, none of us takes him/herself too seriously, we get a good chuckle or two and the occasional flash of insight into our favorite squadmate. All in all, I think we're a pretty cool bunch...AshiraShepard wrote...
You know ironically, Flamewielder might return here to see all this and think "What the hell did you guys smoke?"
I gave up on weed in the 90's (yeah, I'm in the same age bracket as volly, I know
Maybe I should have gone for agronomy, instead of geology...

I've always wanted to define Samara in an archetype and I think I've found one that atleast starts the discussion. The Saboteur (The Guide, The Protector, The Facilitator)
This archetype often is the most difficult to comprehend as it is associated with the concept of betrayal. In truth, the purpose of this archetype is to help you learn the many ways in which you challenge, or sabotage, yourself. Our fears frequently cloud the quality of our decisions. There are numerous examples of cases in which the underdeveloped saboteur surfaces. We begin a new relationship and then destroy it because we are afraid of a painful outcome. We begin a working relationship and find ourselves in a power struggle when we fear the talents of the other person. The developed Saboteur guards self, home and everything else important. It guides us in and out of situations by allowing us to feel incredibly creative and vulnerable at the same time. The combination of these two energies activates our potential to rise out of self-destruction. Once maturity is accomplished, the Saboteur becomes an ally that alerts us when we are in a vulnerable state, and thereby allows us to consciously exercise empowered choice.
Samara is a multi-dimensional character who is all about preserving her character and principles. Through this she teaches us the value of self-control even if it is incomprehensible to some of us. Her decisions are pure, her actions are justified by her means.
Some of the things said in that description do not fit Samara at all though, and require offset interpretations, we should try to flesh it out. Could make us appreciate her more than we even do now. We will probably find that she is a combination of a lot of different archetypes.
any more opinions?

I gave up on weed in the 90's (yeah, I'm in the same age bracket as volly, I know)... being a father I'm expected to be the "reasonable" one in the house (yeah, right...). The stuff's likely a lot harder too, with all of these hydroponic grow-ops spawning all over.
Maybe I should have gone for agronomy, instead of geology...
Yeah, I gave up back then too, dude. Too much **** was getting laced with formaldehyde. Nothin' worse than seeing everybody turn into zombies.
