And here I thought the Samara thread was an oasis of calm.

Don't leave Kahuna! I might even post part two of "Evening with the Justicar." Meeeow.

I would still consider it pretty tame.  I try to liven it up a little around here, but some the members don't think I am funny I guess.

No.. I like your humor.  It keeps the thread from getting too intense (Remember the super pooping post we were joking about?).

Yeah I remember that.:D  I posted a link to a video on tube a few pages back about that old V mini series in the 80's.  You remember it?  This vid was about that girl giving birth to those twins and they were half alien.  The graphics were a joke.  I thought it was funny, but know one commented on it.

Post the link again.

You know whenever I think of a human female that is impregnated from an alien, I sometimes remember an old show about a similar child birth.

Some of you in this thread aren't old enough to remember "V" the mini series back in the 80s.
Skip past the first minute if you don't want to watch it all.

Edit:  Make sure you watch it to the end.

I found the oddest and most interesting things when Shepherd tries to romance Samara is is turned down:
Male Shepherd comes off as the usual horndog hero.
Female Shepherd comes off as emotionally needy and desperately lonely.

Yeah I've personally never tried to pursue the option, I really don't think your ENTIRE squad needs to be a love interest, I mean really? It was pretty ridiculous at 6 but anyway!

I find it laughable that people got all upset she turns you down(why you even have the option is beyond me) and the fact you can actually pursue it with Morinth just worries me as to the state of the franchise :P

6? I thought for female Shepard, it's Jacob, Thane and Garrus, and that's it..
What number would not have been "ridiculous" in way of a _choice_ you say? 0, 1, 2 ?

oh yeah.. in relevance to the thread.. I liked her loyalty mission.
Something that I couldn't buy though is her talking of her loyalty to her sacred all-governing "Code".
I work in Software Development.. where the 'code' is the last thing anyone wants to hear about.

I remember watching that show when I was a kid (in the 80's).  I thought you were going to have spliced in a picture of Samara when the green baby came out at first.

Naw no splices.  It was pretty cheesy though wasn't it?

Yeah I remember talking about it on the school bus. Back then we only had 10-20 channels and that was if you had cable.  So everyone from that era and before all basically saw the same stuff because there was such limited variety back then.

Yeah... that was cheezy.  I had forgotten the tongue thing though.  My favorite show from the 80's was Silverhawks.  Nobody seems to remember it though.

Side note... that Tali fan that was just in here went and talked trash about me in the Tali fan thread.

I just looked up Silverhawks.  I remember it a little, but I didn't watch that one much though.

I wouldn't worry about it.  They must have really ticked you off.  The Tali fans don't bother me.  Of course I don't get caught up in all this division over the characters.

@ Johnny Dollar

I actually think Tali is a good character.  I just don't like it when Tali fans come in and ruin threads (and I know I'm not the only one who feels that way).  I have no problem with any of the other fan threads... just the Talimancers for some reason.

But back on topic... Have you brought Kasumi to Samara's recruitment yet?

Actually... most her dialogue post Horizon is good. As for that mission... sadly no. Boring as can be. I'm just trying to swing the thread back around to Samara again (since I derailed it a bit).

You know what I can't figure... is Samara supposed to be an Adept or Vanguard type class?

"She was the strongest and bravest of my daughters, she would not accept the injustice thrust upon her..." - Samara about Morinth

now isn't that interesting? do you think that is a mistake by the writers in phrasing what Samara was trying to say? Because it sounds like she's saying that Morinth's situation was unfair, which it was, but that it was forced upon her. I was under the impression that she chose to run not because she had no choice. I'm confusing myself and its late...have this gif

I love samara.  Do any of you read fan fiction?  I wrote some because I needed to write it down at some point.  The main characters are completely unimportant past the first part and shepard is only referenced in passing.  It isn't what you are expecting though as I am not a fan fiction writer.  I only deal in what's possible within the story.

Anyways, I agree that samara is as close to an adept as you get with squadmates.  None of the squadmates in ME ever fall completely in line a character class, there is always something that differentiates them.  Tali was an engineer but she had a shotgun, stuff like that.

I'm in agreement with most here regarding a final dialogue with Samara. I would ask for her forgiveness and tell her that my friendship with her was more important (while hoping that with time...maybe...she might be willing to enter a relationship with me.) I can dream right?

Oh Kudara, I finished reading what you've done with your fanfic. I enjoyed it! I was really anticipating the meeting between Shepard and Liara. I feel for her. I had a question: you know the chapter where Shepard has her brain examined? Did you know all of that info about the brain off the top of your head or did you do research on it? I really enjoyed that chapter (I love biology).

My college knowledge is about 20 years old :)  I research it, it's quite interesting the things they've learned about the brain since I was last formally in school.B)

I don't think I have ever posted here.

Samara, I find Samara to be quite a character, a self-righteous warrior who campaigns across the stars in search of her absolution. She finds herself guilty of many things, so Samara has become a sort of vigilante to atone for her actions in the past, her own quest to be to find her wayward daughter, Morinth, and kill her because she feels that is the best she can do. I like how she is presented in-game, as a warrior who believes in a strict-code, aware that it will not always apply to what she consideres unjust, but acts upon her code regardless, Samara will kill a criminal, no matter how just it was.

Though I am happy to see that the writers managed to avoid creating a very dull character. There are many other vigilante characters in other medias that fail to be interesting because they are never put in a context that could compromise what they do or who they are, unlike Samara who is. She knows that Justicars are too extreme, but she follows the code because that is the only thing she knows how to do, but she will not kill out of obligation right away, as displayed in her introduction where she uses her wit to outmaneuver her own coed to avoid a needless fight.

I am sorry for her celibacy however, if she were a true romance option, I know I would have found a game for me to purse that right away. I do hope for the fans that the writers see that people really like Samara enough for them to find the capacity to do a romance, considering that the charcacter herself is interested.

I thought she was referring to Morinth being an Ardat-Yakshi, viewing that condition as being an unjust twist of fate.
