Well another member mentioned that Samara's faith reminded him of religion, and an out of date religion at that. He didn't feel she was that deep of a character because he/she thought that the code was motivated by religion and compared it to Catholic Church celibacy.

He/She said that her loyalty mission is about killing her daughter for killing others through sexual contact, which is something Samara can't engage in because of the code.

I told him/her that the code does not forbid sex and that this was her choice. I then asked him/her if he/she had exhausted all dialog with her, which he/she responded no.

I told him/her that he/she should immerse him/herself into the game and exhaust all dialog with her to better respect her.

I also recommended that he/she come post here, because some members here will give him/her a clinical rundown on the character and different views are welcome. He/she said that he/she might do that after this playthrough and exhausting all dialog.

Anybody want to go ahead and respond to this in case that member or someone else would like to read it?

As someone who has a BA in Religion I feel I can answer this for you.  She clearly states that the code exists to punish the wicked and unjust.  It does not exist to bring about spiritual enlightenment.  Spirituality at it's core is an attempt to understand things that are beyond our grasp (most notably death).  Religion is just an organized group of individuals who share the same spiritual beliefs.  The Justicar code is clearly not spiritual.

Samara is not an Ardat-Yakshi.  She has had three children (the codex clearly states that Ardat-Yakshi can not have kids).  She chooses not to pursue a relationship with Shepard but states if she were younger she would have (if you pursue the sex suggestion).

Well I think if the player will exhaust all dialog with her, he/she may change his/her thoughts about this.

BA in Religion huh?  That is kind of a surprise to me.

Hell I don't know.  I haven't seen you post enough to really get a feel I guess.  You just don't across I suppose as someone that would have a BA in religion to me.

Maybe it is your hatred for the Talimancers.:P

I'm not like a priest or anything... I just found Religion interesting.  Now I can generaly put the crazy people on both sides of arguments in there place when they get out of hand.

As for the Talimancers... they bring that on themselves (have you actually gone over in that thread?... SCARY)

I shouldn't have called the golden doodad around her neck a "neckband", because I automatically read "neckbeard", and then I imagine Samara with a neckbeard, and I just don't want that image in my head.

Well Wonder Woman is all right.[smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/wink.png[/smilie]

But
not quite those colors.  Imagine the leather oufit below with perhaps a little different color scheme and showing a little more skin:innocent:(perhaps her mid area and her arms and her legs),  and with Samara's Gold Neckband on.

I for one would like to see Samara get a proper set of clothing.

- With less gaping voids in them.
