No one's taken offence. Funny comic though, even if a little crude!
Oh, I didn't think anyone did in the first place.
I was just playing along as the events unfolded.
Can't say I'm very happy with how it went, especially considering Masticetobbacco's comments.

Funny comic... but please don't turn this into a Tali thread where it's a bunch of innapropriate pictures. Part of the Samara thread that is so appealing to most who don't post in here is that we don't have pictures like that.
Well, frankly, I would hardly consider that comic on par with the horrors enclosed in that thread.
Sure, it's a tad randy; but I would say that the lighthearted tone of it defuses the whole thing quite successfully.
But this might just be me on the defense, what do I know.

In that picture, is Samara's mind supposed to be on Shepard, or on other things, while she enjoys her privacy?

I left that slightly ambiguous for a reason.
It works either way, at any rate.

So, let's break the monotony here. Who thinks that Aria is most likely also the same Asari merc that Wrex fought with for days in that space station that he tells you about?
Highly likely. I'd love for them to get a reunion in ME3.

I suspect it's likely, I mean I can see no glaring reason why she's not Alenna(sp?) I too would love to see a reunion in ME3.

Different and more advanced (not necessarily better). Civilizations converge with time. Regional peculiarities are smoothed over by what becomes the accepted concesus. Democracy was an exception in ancient Greece, surrounded by monarchies. It's become more or less the norm in occidental countries. The abolition of slavery was slower to spread, with women given the right to vote coming in later.
I think assuming that society follows a straight path of progress, from 'primitive' to 'advanced,' is a huge mistake. The fact that democracy is fairly widespread in occidental culture on earth right now is not necessarily an inevitability. We could have easily moved to a more totalitarian or anarchistic model based off of what happened in the 20th century. Things can sometimes progress sideways and 'backwards' on what would be this scale you talk about, if it existed.
I'm not stating asari culture is superior to humans, it is more advanced on the path to uniformity and concensus over societal values. The concensus among asari being that Justicars serve a noble purpose, in accordance to what the asari perceive to be right. I argue that primitive barbaric practices such as stoning raped women and treating them as chattel no longer exists in asari society. The Justicar order is also ancient, but happens to have survived a few thousand years of discussion/debate in asari society. If the institution was as barbaric as stoning women, I argue it would have been abolished (by force if necessary). It hasn't. Only criminals have had cause to complain in game. Honest asari in game have had nothing but good to say about Justicars. None of them have come forward to Shepard complaining about being "oppressed" or being treated unfairly by Justicars or the asari code.
I find the death penalty to be fairly barbaric, for a number of reasons. Yes, it's fiction, and I read, say, comics about the Punisher, and enjoy them, but it doesn't mean Frank Castle is the kind of person I'd want running around in our world today. On the other hand, the Punisher is generally portrayed with more than a bit of a critical eye; Samara, on the other hand, is not. Like I said, she's assumed to be 'doing the right thing,' and no one who isn't a criminal has a problem with her, which is kind of strange for someone who goes around killing people (even if it is legal; there are a lot of people in, say, the US today who would have a problem with killers sanctioned by the government). I don't think the character was written with the idea of her code being anything other than 'Justice!,' and this lack of willingness to look at her character and ask questions on the part of the writers is what makes me dislike the character, as opposed to, say, Garrus, who definitely changes over the course of the story based off of what happens with Sidonis and such (admittedly, he isn't quite a fair comparison since Shep has so much more history with him).
OK, then. Let's just sweep this major difference between humans and asari under the rug...
I'm not saying that the ability of asari to 'join' with other asari and other creatures doesn't influence their culture; it obviously does, the same way only having one 'gender' does. It's just that there's no evidence to suggest that asari can read the mind of someone who they just pass by on the street; it's not something they can just do. They have to focus on it and it looks like the subject has to be willing (except in Morinth's case but she seems to be unusual for a number of reasons).
