Liara vs Miranda would be more appropriate... considering they meet in the Mass Effect comic.

How much is the comic?  Is it through the mail or download?

It came with my ME2 CE

We ought to upload at least one cute photo every night.  Give the girl gamer frequenters something to enjoy.  You know how they love that stuff.

The comic is $3.50 per issue. They'll be collecting it in trade which'll be released in summer, I think. I'm assuming you live in US, of course...

From Bioware? I dunno, maybe? If not, you could always go to your local comic book store. Which if you don't know where to find one, you could always check: http://www.comicshoplocator.com/

ME3 is a stand-alone game? Doesn't that kind of hint that ME2 crew will have limited involvement?

Quite possibly, but would you elaborate and give your thoughts?

I keep hearing that Casey Hudson says that they'll not have to worry about contiunity with ME3 and it'll be a stand alone game? That makes me very worried about how much my favorite characters will be involved. I wouldn't be surprised if the default new game for ME3 has very few Suicide Mission survivors (probably Miranda and Jacob only) to, again, cater to those new to the franchise.

The plot-contribution and significance of ME2 is already on shaky ground.  If most of the ME2 squadmates disappear for ME3, and Bioware brings back the ME1 teammates, what the **** was the point of ME2?  And what does that tell us about the quality we can expect in ME3 from Bioware?

The squad is the only thing we can salvage from ME2, its the only tangible thing we can show other than the Collector base, but surely that alone can't be the difference for defeating the reapers.

Let the Squad handle the story/plot elements, and Shepard can handle the reapers :)

It's speculation of course, but I tend to agree with the notion that there will be several cameos.

Some players say well we spent the whole ME2 game building up our team.  Why would Bioware kill them in the default?  It doesn't make sense.

Why did Bioware make the suicide mission the way they did?  All squadmates but 2 can die in the suicide mission and the player can still win the game and have a save file.

How much money is Bioware going to put into the game?  What are their sales projections?  What is their marketing tactic going to be for ME3?

I can only go by the previous two games to base my opinions/assumptions off of right now.  We just don't have enough information yet.

They obviously have more flexability I assume than the previous two, so that is an advantage I think.  Are they going to have VA for every single squadmate done?  Is every single squadmate going to be possibly a squadmate in ME3?  That would be a big game in terms of size and  cost I would think.

None of us know though.

Well, just look at the default ME2 new game and how they catered to new players. They cut back on plot points that would confuse players. No Wrex, so new players aren't confused by this big alien they supposedly didn't kill. Council is dead; don't have to worry about whether I pissed off or jumped through hoops to please the Council. Rachni; don't remember saving a supposedly extinct race, so let's just ignore it. So come ME3, will Bioware just say "Um... yeah, some people died on a risky mission you ran, don't worry about them."

But you're right, all speculation for now. Makes me worry! But speculation nonetheless...

shoot that would suck. "stand alone" shouldn't mean "man alone" lol. you're right default me2 isn't filled with the same vibrance as an import, and there is compensation for that which lessens the experience.

By doing this it made ME2 easier and less costly I assume.  What do you get if you save Wrex or the Council or the Rachni in ME2?  Wrex takes Wreaves place, You get a 30 second hologram from the Council, and you have an Asari giving you a message from the Rachni.

WIll Bioware deviate from this style in ME3?  If so, how far will they deviate?

WIll Bioware pleasantly surprise everyone?

You can bet they will hype the hell out of it either way though.

I think they made it very hard to walk away from the suicide mission with anyone dead.  If they intended for it to be that way, and if they exclude the ME2 from ME3, then what does that tell you about how Bioware feels about the ME series?  I'll tell you.  It means that they don't care one whit, and they just want the money.  Then, in ME3, the ME2 teammates will send you e-mail, and Bioware will point to the e-mails and say, "Look, consequences!  We do care!" just to avoid critical scrutiny.

dear god, a letter from Thane.

"Hello Shepard,

I hear you are embarking on yet another suicide mission. Be well my friend, the last fight was worthy...

*Collectors to the left, collectors to the right. The smell of alien blood everywhere. From the corner of my eye a golden light, and the words ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL*

Anyway, I wrote this letter to thanks you for reuniting my with my son Kolyat. I can die in peace.

Sincerely,
Mr. Krios"

please bioware...spare us

Yeah your right.

They may have made the squadmembers killable to give themselves a way out in case they needed more flexability for ME3.  Kind of like a safety measure in case they don't have the budget available that they originally hoped for.  Ahhh speculation.

So far "Big Decisions" and their "consequences" effect the story a little and that is it.  Will the Base be destroyed or saved in the default?
WIll saving or destroying the Collector Base matter in ME3?  If so, how much?  Just a little story impact, or could you lose the game if you didn't destroy it?  The latter sounds too rigid to me.

Will this same pattern carry over to the squadmates?

I do agree with you though.  If they follow the path that they have set for the previous 2, then I imagine there will be quite a bit of disappointment.

Yeah but I guarantee they'll be "WHAT?! GARRUS/TALI/LIARA/MIRANDA/BIOTIC GOD AREN'T IN MY PARTY? WTF BIOWARE!" and "ME3: BIG DISAPPOINTMENT OR BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT?! Or how Bioware REALLY dropped the ball this time V.2" threads from some of the more... rabid fans.
