Heh, either way if Bioware surprises us or upsets us, you can bet they'll be celebration or ****ing on this board.

Ill be calm but be dissapointed as balls.

Yeah but I guarantee they'll be "WHAT?! GARRUS/TALI/LIARA/MIRANDA/BIOTIC GOD AREN'T IN MY PARTY? WTF BIOWARE!" and "ME3: BIG DISAPPOINTMENT OR BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT?! Or how Bioware REALLY dropped the ball this time V.2" threads from some of the more... rabid fans.

:bandit:

Don't get me started on Niftu Cal.  He's the epitome of "LOL RANDUM XD" humor and I actually shook my head in disappointment (with Bioware) after his scene.  Blasto is just more of the same.

Yeah yeah, nofun.jpg, I don't care.

Liara vs Miranda would be more appropriate... considering they meet in the Mass Effect comic.

How much is the comic?  Is it through the mail or download?

You can buy each of the four individual ME issues here:

www.tfaw.com/Search

or you can pre-order the collective of all four:

What is the "new ongoing"?

Oh, it means a monthly comic. Redemption was successful enough for Dark Horse that the same team that did Redemption is now doing an ongoing comic. Nothing beyond that has been announced other than it'll be set after ME2.

It won't have any of the big Mass Effect characters in it, I'd wager. and keep things ambiguous with Shepard and all that stuff. But I wanna know the cast! Probably be some... Alliance soldier or something...

Ok, so that sounds like potentially good news then. Since you like comics let me ask you this. How would evaluate Redemption overall?

I enjoyed it. It has it's flaws, of course, the artist is good but has a tendency to exaggerate expressions on people to the extent that it is pretty comical at times. He had Liara doing biotic kicks that just... boggle the mind. A lot of people were disappointed that there wasn't some big revelation about Liara and Shadow Broker or some big announcement at the end about DLC. But as a big Mass Effect fan and a big comic book fan, I was pleased and wanted more. I guess in my mind, more Mass Effect is a good thing, in whatever medium.

One of the fellas involved wrote the KOTOR comics which were pretty damn enjoyable, so I'm hopeful for this new comic series and hope it has a fun and lengthy run.

Sorry for the late reply.

Standalone is just a way of saying the game has to be enjoyable even if you're not importing a prior Shep from ME1 or ME2. So we can assume that whatever advantage might have come from keeping the base will be compensated in some other way. Possibly more Alliance/Council support if you destroyed it, more Cerberus support if you kept it, etc...

Speculating from what "current events" are talked about in the Cerberus daily news, the galaxy seems less united than ever; this works to the Reapers' advantage.

It looks like things are shaping towards ME3 being about forming alliances, with Shepard travelling all over to accomplish missions that will gain him allies against the Reapers, as opposed to gathering a crew for a "suicide mission". Legion (Geth), Tali(Quarians), Grunt/Wrex(Krogans) are obvious candidates for "facilitators" in this search for allies. Others enjoy a certain credibility within their own factions, or have connections allowing them to co-opt these factions' resources: Samara/Liara(Asari), Miranda/Jacob(Cerberus), Ashley/Kaidan(Alliance), Mordin(Salarians). They may come back as contacts/mission introducers, providing dialogue interactions and cutscenes (perhaps some romantic ones in certain cases) without returning as squadmates. Just provide a new placeholder guy/gal for whoever's dead, so you can still get the mission even if you're missing out on some long-awaited closure.

Other characters do not offer obvious lead-ins for allies gathering: Jack, Zaeed, Kasumi, Thane and Garrus(C-Sec? It sounds like he's burned bridges there but who knows?); but they're talented people in their own fields so they could be returning squaddies in ME3. Mmm... A pirate, a merc, a thief and an assassin... sounds like a pretty good shadow-ops team to me!

It would be bringing down the number of squaddies and possibly give them more room for character development. As for the "facilitators" you get at least 2 good convos/cutscenes with each (one for introducing the mission, one at the end), with possibly another one after each new ally species is aquired (they can gather with Anderson at the Citadel) and a private meeting with LI on the Citadel before the final mission.

Samara: "Councilor Anderson is an honorable man, Shepard. I am glad my order can help other species in this worthy cause."
Shepard: "He's a good man. He's taught me a lot as my captain on the old Normandy. I'm glad you could join us here on the Citadel, but the Normandy's port observation deck feels empty without you..."
Samara: "Such feelings are irrelevant, Shepard... but they are most welcome nonetheless.<smile>. I shall assist the Councillor in organizing our defenses here. I look forward to your safe return."

One thing I have not done, is pay attention to the Cerberus news. I suppose I should though, because it seems to be randomly filled with hints to future content.

I don't have anything new to contribute right now, so here's a delighted Samara.  This picture of her always makes me smile.  Go ahead, smile.

Shepard: "Perhaps when you're not organizing our defenses, and I'm not doing...whatever it is I do...;)"

Shepard didn't realize it, but Samara used a light Throw on him to move him out of the way. It was her way of gauging his strength.

...ok maybe not :P

I like how she has no reason to go over there, just a "get outta my way, I wanna talk from this spot now and you're in my way."

I like most of Samara's motion capture throughout the game. She's less cheesecake than Miranda, who does a lot of that hand-on-hip thing. Samara always stands straight and tall, with perfect posture and a regal bearing.

I just wish that they had synced the characters voices better with their lip movement.

its supposed to be a Type Alpha personality quirk. I think its something similar to when someone has long pauses between speaking, that person knows everyone is listening, and subtly demands them to wait for him/her to finish what he/she is saying. In the same way, she could have walked by him, but why would she? He is in her way.

The various tests that I have taken, have shown quite variable results to say the least. Honestly I am not sure what type I favor.
