Samara was an interesting character. She had some pretty cool stories and Reave is a money ability so...if she isn't on my team in 3 ill be mad.

I do think that Samara comes to care for Shepard, but knows that a romance will not work between them because of their path.

After legion she is my 2nd positive surprise character in ME2.

honestly i think most of them will be in ME3 if you saved them. we'll see, though.
right! the way 2 ends, they are gearing up for battle!!! I think we're going to see a 'Gears of war 2' type start (running around, then attacked) then all hell will break loose.
I think all parties will be present, at least in the beginning! so we'll all be happy.. for awhile anyways

I was almost certain that I wasn't going to like Samara from what I saw and read of her prior to the game's release. Normally I don't get along with paladins at all.
I was really surprised by her though, and I shouldn't have doubted Bioware to infuse this character with a great deal of depth. Also the fact that she'll reject Shepard's advances and maintain her own course makes me respect her a great deal.

I found the oddest and most interesting things when Shepherd tries to romance Samara is is turned down:
Male Shepherd comes off as the usual horndog hero.
Female Shepherd comes off as emotionally needy and desperately lonely.

I thought it was great that she turned Shepherd down. She's a lot older and wiser than Shepherd, the only teammate who's not an adolescent or in a subservient position to Shepherd. And the writing was great, how her rejection only makes Shepherd, male or female, want her even more. Very revealing about Shepherd's personality.

Agree. I don't really like that aspect of Shep's personality that they're trying to put out there. I dunno. They really oversexed him/her in ME2. Kinda a turn off to me.
I think that's why I liked Samara so much, she was all business and mutual respect.

I tried that route just to see the holding hands scene
It was sweet and made me love her more!

Well, you can play Shepherd not romancing anyone at all, which is still interesting because it just means s/he still has that personality but keeps it under wraps.
And yes, I think Samara's great because she just has her own stuff going. Her remark after killing Morinth about letting "this broken old warrior have her solitude" just shows how much depth she has.

I hope they bring her back if you chose the Paragon route and not the Renegade route, I also hope they keep her unromancable. That is the best aspect of her character and for her to give in I think kinda ruins her...
Though it is hard for me to say that because partially I do want her romancable.

I thought it was an excellent scene, and I hope BioWare does it more where you can express your love for a character but they can reject you. Shepard looked so lonely, I felt bad for her. It's a pity that you can still pursue the other LI after you do this though, kind of cheapens it.
Another problem is that if you picked the paragon "friends" option you kind of get the sore end of the stick. The scene is nowhere near as powerful. She could have given my character a friendly hug or say her version of a prayer or something.
By the way, does she actually go somewhere when she leaves the room or does she just disappear off the ship until she returns to her room?

I wouldn't mind it either but then that would mess up her Justicar code and we just can't have that; that's who she is.
