I have a new topic to discuss. I am going to be playing in a Star Wars tabletop RPG and I am creating a character for it that is heavily based on Samara. The character will even be named Samara, and I am going to incorporate as much of her backstory as I can in the character. The character will be a Twi'lek Jedi in the New Jedi Order era (post-Episode VI). My question for all of you is, what traits are essential to Samara that I must incorporate into the character for her to be a good parallel?

Discipine, but perhaps not her self denial to the extent that the ME character is anyway.  Courage, conviction, and willingness to defeat the unjust/evil(dark side).

Uncompromising morals (unless your character is emulating samara while under oath)

just as an example. Han solo would be shot on sight XD

Perseverance

strikes me as the prevailing trait for her. to think about toiling for 400 years.

I see her as implacable, determined, disciplined, relentless, dedicated, uncompromising, ascetic, serene, and indomitable. What are some other adjectives?

Hey KFD! It's too darn slow in this thread. We need to discuss stuff in here.  Come up with a topic.  I am out of ideas.

Hello Johnny! I'll do my part or at least try to. I'm on and off this forum far more irregularly as of late than I used to be, but I'll continue to make a point of visiting this delightful Samara thread. :)

Hm. Potential Samara related topics....This is a bit more ME universe related, however it is inspired by Samara and the Justicar order. Would you, any of you, like to see melee combat in ME3 as opposed to just ranged weapons and biotic powers attacks? Given Samara's "monk-like" status what melee weapon(s) and/or martial arts fighting style do you consider most fitting for her?

She equated her position as a Justicar to a kinight/Samari, so a sword would be fitting for her.  As far melee attack goes, maybe if it was mixed in with the shooter combat.

If Samara was a Force-user, she would exist in a weird, in-between place between the Jedi and the Sith.  She believes in protecting the innocent and the order of things, but she is uncompromising with the morality prescribed to her by her prevailing ideology.  She sees everything in black-and-white.  Jedi fight for justice and civilization.  They believe peace is a product of those two things.  Jedi tend to be sent as commandos, when diplomacy has failed, as is the case with Justicars, but they do have the freedom to exercise discretion.  Samara's not so forgiving.  Samara is incorruptible.  She refuses to let herself be dominated by her emotions.  The Sith thrive on hate and misanthropy.  She would never go over to the "dark side".

There's that awful, hilariously ironic line uttered by Obi-Wan in the third movie: "Only a Sith deals in absolutes."

I think Samara would be quite the charmer if she would ever take part in an informal conversation. In the conversation about Justicars, something about the way she just sits their and offers succinct answers to Shepard, occasionally shifting in mood, is very fun to watch. That whole conversation was just lovely, from the head tilted smile, the head bow ("it is a deeply personal matter..."), to the "I'm glad we talked" smile. Very elegant.

Jedi's can be to **** sometimes on Villians IMO, i prefer more of the Justicar style but slightly less extreme.

the sith quote. even samara's code left room to go beyond it. speaking of which, i wonder if there is a 'high justicar preistess'? maybe she is the only justicar outside of the code and all justicars are automatically sworn to follow her.

What media did you image it on?  If you got any spare dvd's, it wouldn't hurt to burn another image on them too.

Good call IMO.  I have plenty of hd space to make my images, but I always have one image also burned on DVD's.  Everything went okay I  assume?
