Ok I love Samara really I do but was anyone else bothered that she's the only character in mass effect to run around combat in a costume that is not made for battle?
Mass Effect did a great job showing female characters in realistic fighting gear and then Samara walks out in really high heels and a top that looks like it needs double sided tape (I'm a woman I looks at outfits like that and think how it works ok?)
Mostly for me it was the heels because while I could run in heels like that if I had to I wouldn't wear them if I KNEW I was going to be running around a lot. It really messed up my suspension of disbelief for that character, to me she looked like she'd escaped from a super hero comic book and didn't fit in with the Mass Effect universe. Jack I could believe she had a small build, prone to doing somewhat stupid things and being all FU about it and while the chaffing would be terrible you could at least give her a top to put under it after loyalty. Samara seemed to me to be the kind to know better, she's wise and regal and the outfit didn't click with that at least for me.
All I'm saying is as a result My main femShep ended up leaving poor Samara on the Normandy 99% of the time for fear she'd break her leg, ruin her feet or have a wardrobe malfunction involving the double sided tape.
Honestly I giggled when she first came on screen and I don't think that's what the developers were going for.
Maybe I'll get lucky and they'll come out with a DLC costume for her with shoes made for combat and a top that actually looks like it gives her some support and I'll actually use her more in my play through.
(I did use her as my Biotic in the SM, she didn't have to run during it and I wanted to let her do SOMETHING)
It's all about the cheesecake, ReiSilver. Think of it this way: If you're able to look past the silly appearances of some of the characters and actually appreciate them, you can count yourself among the individuals intelligent enough to not be put off by their clothes and oversized body parts, for example.
Me? I love her high-heels, and the way they join with her suit, or are a part of her suit. Being able to excel in combat while wearing shoes like that puts Samara on some ascendant level of martial prowess.
