I think what York means is that reality shouldn't have the majority of attention when trying to make sense of a world that's entirely fiction in the first place.

I think...*cough* *hides* Don't mind me. Seriously.

but we are dealing with people's perception of from their own point of view, not shepard's.

*shrug* Then I don't know what he meant.

I second the sentiment Gust4v.

Hmm, thinking about how they've done the alternate appearances, when they get to the other characters (and they will) think they'll give Samara some shades? =P I hope to god not, the other character's glasses didn't bother me one bit; but she has such pretty eyes...

My point is that you're projecting distinctly human values on to something that is the product of the human mind and its ability to be creative.  You're looking at the front of a house, and thinking, "Huh.   The windows look like eyes.   The front door looks like a mouth."

To keep in the spirit of science fiction, especially science fiction where alien species exists, we discard those notions.  In essence, I'm asking you to engage in self-deception so as to see the Asari as the Asari, and not an alien species that looks like us (because who came first?).

I always leave Samara in red. It suits her very well. Morinth I dress in black--but she's still wearing her casual outfit on the Normandy

I was playing ME2 again, and there is the one scene where you're talking with her on the observation deck and you ask her a question. She stays sitting down and motions you over so you both can talk. Then you stand above her waiting for her to start talking and she motions again for you to sit down next to her. I thought this was simple but very cool.
Samara, isn't in awe of you. She respects you and thinks you are a worthy warrior but she thinks of you as an equal. No need to stand up each time you enter the room. Samara's thoughts, "We're equals, I've stood up previous times you've come in to talk - I feel like sitting down now, you sit down next to me and we'll talk."

I always thought of that as Shepard him/herself being in awe of Samara.  Even Shepard doesn't know what to do in her presence.  He/she reverts to rigid formality, and Samara has to be the one to snap him/her out of it just to start a conversation.

The first time she waves Shepard over, she does it to show him/her that she's available to talk with.  The second time she waves Shepard over, it's because he/she's so caught up in formality as a form of respect, and doesn't know how to act around a Justicar.

"I'm a Justicar, but also your friend, Shepard."

i think this summarises the relationship between Shep and Samara perfectly. Shep has never, since becoming a Spectre at least, met an equal. Or had to deal with not being above (in rank or power) another being. A Justicar exists outside usual ranks, like a Spectre, but they answer only to their Code, and not to contentious politicians.

I think in the interactions with Samara we see a side of Shep even Shep hasn't seen or felt for a long time. Here is an Alien warrior almost 1000 years old. She has more biotic power than anyone he/she has met. She has fought and killed probably more enemies, individually (not part of a ship's crew) than anyone he's met. She is regal. She is focussed. She is comfortable in her being.  Here is a person Shep can, in many ways, idolise, as do the millions of Asari that would want to be just like Samara.

man i need a milf in ME as romance :D

This is the reason I think Samara needs a bosum reduction in ME3. We all know Samara's dimensions are an over agressive at, In Zevran's words, "a deadly sex goddess". This kind of fan service detracts from the respect that her regalness deserves. I really wouldn't mind the discrepency between 2 and 3 at all if they did this.

Don't dare to touch her... uhm... progamming wise I meant! Image IPB

No, really. Shes perfect like she is. And if romancing in ME3 would became an option for those who behave well it would be far more better even.

i have a thing for mature ladies so thats why i want the Li, it never happens :(
by the way her face is more appealing then the other asari's, i also like the krogan/asari bartender alot.

ps: samara in black! light blue on black looks much better then the orange/red thing. besids gold looks hot on her. definatly blackoutfit

Samara is probably the closest thing we get to the "fellow Spectre". It's also nice she makes it clear that she's not available as LI, although you do get the impression that there's a bond between her and Shepard regardless.

i feel its like the bond of those who have to make the harder decisions, who's actions shape the fates of millions, billions even. Shep has a very impressive resume, Samara's is longer and very nearly as impressive over-all, if not moreso.

Though, before ME2, Samara never had the opportunity to ****** off a race of ancient mecha-gods.  Now, thanks to Shepard, Samara can add that to her list of accomplishments.

Nah, they know that she is only a part of Shepard's team. They didn't hunt down anyone else from Shepards old team. (Horrizon doesn't count because that wasn't until they knew he was alive again and it was a way to get to him)

You never know, the Reapers might just say their version of "screw it" and go after the whole team as well as Shepard in ME3. We'll just have to wait and see what happens >:)

Okay, used an editor and made it so that Samara was Morinth, purely because of curiosity, and that this way skipped the whole betrayal/killing-Samara scene. Talked to her a little, and I'm fairly sure it's safe to take anything Morinth says with a grain (not a pinch) of salt.

If you ask about Samara, she tells you that she was a terrible mother and elaborates on that; I wanted to jump in and defend her :< Not everyone knows what to do or how to do it; even my own mother would admit that she didn't do a lot of things right, but I still love her; I know she loves me and she never hurt me, at all.

Maybe over-reacting, but the comment stung me and made me feel very protective of Samara :< Suffice to say, I "fixed" the henchmen flag and Samara returned. No more Morinth. Not ever. =P

^^^^ This; but without the love part. I just find her intriguing; hence the planned story I have on her, but that's not important.

This will always drive home why I choose Samara every time; I feel sick and guilty even just seeing someone else picking Morinth over her :( Probably not good that I can get so attached to a character *cough*

Morinth's whining that Samara tried to instill in her a sense of duty, responsibility and morality.  Oh wow.  <_<

This is why I choose Samara every time, and avenge poor Nef, to boot.

By making sure she gets taken by the BEEEEEES or gets crushed?  I guess, but it's not the only reason I choose Samara over Morinth.
