Asari are presented as Panentheistic, but I always thought them being Esoteric would make more sense.
Thoughts?
EDIT: aside from it relating to mysticism
Any (most of the most popular) religion(s) can/do have esoteric elements/schools. Esotericism in a religion just isn't obvious unless you've studied to find the esoteric schools within.
You wouldn't usually set pantheistic against esoteric. "Esoteric" is usually included as a subset of a belief system for the way it connects hidden phenomena with manifest phenomena (generally speaking).

Indeed. That was one of my lazier posts where I didn't detail what I meant exactly
I was implying that Asari wouldn't subscribe to any specific religious belief or deity, but find consistencies in different belief systems as held together by a distinct life force that exists within each Asari. And because of their unique melding capabilites that allow them to basically access and unite different thoughts and experiences this could be their transmutational way of gaining knowledge. Sort of like correspondance between all sentient beings, although I'm not sure how nature would tie into it.

Being the Evil Cerberus Guy [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/devil.png[/smilie] I am, I take Zaeed and Legion to fight the final boss and leave Miranda, Garrus and Samara to hold the line. And I'd be like "YAY!!! [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/w00t.png[/smilie]" if Garrus and Miranda both kicked the bucket there, leaving Sam the only one to make it through the hold-the-line spot, but the game wouldn't allow it [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/crying.png[/smilie].

that's not much different from Panentheism...
Pantheism promotes the idea that "God" is better
understood as a way of relating to nature and the Universe
as a whole - all that was, is and shall be - rather than as a transcendent, mental, personal or
creator entity.[2]
Pantheists thus do not believe in a personal,
anthropomorphic or creator god. Although there are divergences
within Pantheism, the central ideas found in almost all versions are the
Cosmos as an all-encompassing unity and the "sacredness" of Nature.
Esotericism is a theory of correspondences, the
conviction that nature is a living entity, the need for mediating
elements (such as symbols or visions) in order to
access spiritual knowledge, and a sense of personal transmutation when
arriving at this knowledge. To this are added two less crucial traits.
Esotericism sometimes suggests an additional element of initiation.
Finally, esotericists frequently suggest that there is a concordance
between different religious traditions
do you see where I'm getting at? the "visions" is in the melding they need to access "spiritual knowledge". I'm not saying that all life force is God as in Panentheism or Pantheism to some extent. I can see where the confusion lies though because there is an overlap as Esotericism can encompass them all. Either way this is speculation upon speculation.

Just don't do Miranda's and Garrus's loyalty missions, send Miranda as an escort and bring Garrus to the final battle, or use him as a team leader. That should kill em for you I think.Zulu_DFA wrote...

Miranda will only die if you bring her to the final boss and she isn't loyal. She has specific dialogue that isn't spoken by anyone else.

I wonder if you take an unloyal Miranda and Garrus with you to the final battle, but leave a loyal Zaeed, Legion, and Samara to hold the line, if those three will all make it out just fine. They're all pretty far down the list of possible deaths to start with. Legion and Samara come after Garrus even.

I think they will. You would have Zaeed, Legion, and also Grunt holding the line. That would be enough. If you sent Zaeed as an escort though, then there would be a death holding the line I think.Pacifien wrote...

Probably like how people say "bless you" after a sneeze, but no one is really trying to actually bless you.
I'm curious to see how/if the storyline DLC linking ME2 and ME3 will involve our crew (and Samara). You don't like Samara? You don't have to buy that particular piece of DLC... You like everyone, you can buy it all.

Oh, it's tough kill Garrus and Miranda then that way. They need to be unloyal to make it easier to kill them, if that is what you want to do.Zulu_DFA wrote...
