Yeah, I took Grunt and Garrus to the Derelict Reaper with me earlier today. They sprayed the hell out of those husks with their Revenants.NICKjnp wrote...
I gave Samara the revenant and widow when I used a the mod setup for the 360... those guns are almost as big as she is.... and she doesn't do very well with them. Grunt on the other hand... he is a beast with the revenant. I was running behind telling him to save some for the rest of us.
Did you figure out what the deal was with the game forcing the final mission on you before?

Yeah... the game figured it was already post horizon, recruitment missions and derelict reaper because everyone was in my party. If you add people to your party then you have to revert to a previous save before you did the mission. So I did all the pre-horizon missions with Samara and then just reloaded. I just did Horizon with Garrus and Tali... Kaiden commented how Garrus and Tali were working with Cerberus. Her recruitment was probably intended to be before Horizon (Thane and Samara don't have dialogue there). It makes me think that I can have her in my party pre-horizon and it will still activate Horizon for me.

Yeah, if your editing the save file, then I think your suppose to recruit 4 and then do Horizon. Then recruit 4 more and do the disabled Collector Vessel I think.NICKjnp wrote...

I'm not convinced a Justicar beats the best of asari commandos.
The Code also seems rather limiting, you'd have to depend on her use of the Third Oath to ensure the mission came before the Code, and that's a pretty huge gamble that you could get her to swear such an oath.
Well we're not given any explicit reason to believe either way. You can't really say Justicars > Commando's or vice versa without having some concrete details about their skills or training process. But it is mentioned that Justicar training has a high mortality rate, I don't think that when they train you for Commando's that they would try to kill you.
If Justicars weren't a better option, and not particularly stronger than Asari Commando's then I don't think IllusiveMan would send you this dossier and risk endangering the mission by having a substitute with more "baggage". He's all about gathering the strongest team, not the most interesting team lol. Now if you think that's the initial problem, then the problem is with the writers and not Illusive Man, because as it stands, they do have an edge over them, out of sheer situational reasons
The Third Oath poses many problems for me, as I have detailed. If IM knew of this, then he's probably taking a huge gamble, if he didn't then he just got lucky that Shepard was able to "impress" Samara enough for her to swear it.

That was an interesting little thread. What do we think? How much does Samara actually know about Shepard's history you think? I'm pretty sure she's not aware of his character background you pick, but the battle at the Citadel, would she know exactly what Shepard did? She seems to merely refer at first to him/her as one of "three well armed people" before her. But maybe she was just playing along.
Shepard is really like the "Hannibal" of the battle of the Citadel, meaning he/she was pretty much single-handedly instrumental in leading to victory. And quite frankly rewrote Citadel space history. So I think Samara has more than a vague understanding of who he/she is. Aaaaand I think I just answered my own question. Still, I wonder if that's what made her swoop in with the Third Oath so readily

Okay, Jolee Bindo doesn't mention it, but I'm still reminded of his story about the kid he knew who had destiny written all over him.
Samara strikes me as well informed about events, but not so well informed about pop culture. She'd know of a human named Shepard who was made a Spectre, but not necessarily know what he looks like. Plus, maybe asari think all humans look alike.

I think no matter the background, Shepard is supposed to be one of those rare people whose very presence demands your attention. The Rachni Queen's asari liason mentions it. Kasumi mentions it. The Illusive Man mentions it. Jolee Bindo mentions it.

Everyone still thinks that Shepard is dead. She may not of realized who she was when he approached her.

Either Freeman or Stephen Fry.
Can you imagine what would happen if those two ended up in the same room? The universe would crumble under the weight of their combined awesomene-WHAAAAA?!

Maybe I should tell every character support thread about the difference in being a fan of a character and having your love of the character define you as a fan. I suppose since the appeal of the games for me is the Mass Effect universe as a whole, I'll never understand how someone else finds the appeal centered on a single character.yorkj86 wrote...
