Shepard soon came to realise that those experimental biotic burritos Mordin made where a bad choice for lunch...

That last one...I didn't know how to word our twelve-year-old "biotic blush/otherwise" joke =P So I went with that instead.

That whole "humans have the greatest genetic diversity" thing was such a huge blunder in lore.  It makes it seem like every other species is populated by people with the genetic diversity of a family of Virginia hill-folk.

Agreed. And actually, by the standards of other species on Earth, humans are actually pretty uniform from a genetic standpoint. Our seeming 'diversity' is largely cosmetic.
