Though it may be a juvenile fantasy (*adjusts monocle*), having three Asari arguing over you is pretty much the ultimate in flattery.

Liara: Shepard, we have a history, you saved me on Therum and swept me off my feet. We deserve each other

Shiala: You saved me from the Thorian on Zhu's Hope. I hoped to make it up to you

Samara: You helped me kill my daughter, as a result I've found eternal peace

Sheploo: Sounds like I'm a pretty cool gai, but uhm, I don't get it, why are you all saying things I did for you if you want to win me over?

Liara:

Shiala: :o

Samara:

Garrus: *flies in* Quick get to the choppa!

Liara: "I'll flay you alive... with my mind!"

Shiala: *eyes narrow; stares*

Samara: *looks unbothered*

Liara: *eyes go wide; looks down chastened by her inadequate display of bravado*

Huh. The three of them actually display the three levels of the the asari lifespan quite nicely now that I think about it.

I think we should turn the port observation deck into Shepard's private little cat house of scantily clad Asari baby dolls.

Samara - hottest mama-matriarch-justicar in the galaxy

...ahem, at the risk of thread self-destruction, I will try and say something of substance: The Asari are a dignified race of sociopolitical visionaries whose intellect and grace is unparalleled....right guys?

Samara is slender for an Asari, if you compare her to some of the others ( Shiala, Aria, liara).

Totally disagree. The Salarians. Never underestimate the Salarians.

I think Shifty Looking Cow is even native to the Salarian homeworld. It is so totally like them.

Of course, I'm talking about their grace in comparison to the Asari.

Agreed, if only the Asari were to take Matriarch Aethyta's advice.  The long-view is a nice concept as far as romance is concerned, but if it leads to technological stagnation and the lack of ability for the Asari to remain viable on the galactic political stage, then it must be abandoned in its application in those areas.   It can hold them back.  Being hot and blue will only get one so far.

The Salarians are like that nerdy hunchback kid that always hangs around the hot girls and do their homework for them.

Yea, not just technological, but diplomatic stagnation. It seems like Asari believe their methods are tried and tested, and they continue to just try and test them. Not saying adaptation is a problem for them, but Aethyta seems to be hinting at the upper crust of their government becoming a little too naive. I like the "long view" though, it practically proves the claim that "patience is a virtue".

They're tried and tested among themselves, among people who live 1000 years and follow the same social rules.  The Salarians have to think and act fast because they live 50 years maximum.   If the Asari thought like the Salarians, no one would have anything on them.  Look at the Destiny Ascension and Asari Commandos and various technologies the Asari use for only superficial purposes.   They just need to act faster.

In the ME universe, it appears that the the upper crust of nearly every species government is a little too naive.  A lazy way for the writers to give Shepard and his/her crew more importance and purpose possibly.

Good point, JD. Although the Asari naivete is a little more subtle and hard to notice. I would almost say they struggle with a bit of indecisiveness. But overall galactic government is supposed to be on a standstill, It shouldn't have be this way for the plot to unravel, but it gives it more of an obvious narrative that they strive for in ME2.

Oh don't worry, if me and my Salarian army mean war, you'll know. After we've unleashed a holocaust upon your lands.

That's right, try to punish the wicked, Justicar after we've killed you without warning.

Of course, it gets lonely when there's a ratio of, like, 1 Salarian female to 9 males, so an all-female-like race comes in very handy. So to speak. The Salarians probably thought they had been given heaven when they discovered the Citadel full of blue goddesses very eager to embrace eternity with them.

Intelligence gathered. Asari hotness valuable. War not recommended.
