My Shepard keeps a recording of the Collector Base exploding in her Quarters, whenever she feels down she watches it
Does she e-mail clips of it exploding to TIM every now and then, just to ****** him off even more?

It was inevitably going to slow down on the forums. A DLC will increase traffic somewhat, but now that the enthusiasm is gone and no new information is being provided, people move on to other things.yorkj86 wrote...
Been very slow around here lately. Only a handful of Samaratans left.
I'll stick around so long as I keep finding inspiration on things to talk about. It waxes and wanes, but I'm pretty good at managing to get some sort of analysis over the most minor of details. Lacking inspiration to discuss Samara right now, however. But wait, let me see if I can force it...
Somewhat wondering what happened to the father(s) of her three daughters, though. Liara mentions that it's common for asari to raise their daughters alone, that pairings can be transient. However, the fact Samara had three daughters makes me think it wasn't a transient pairing should the daughters all have the same father. In which case, when the doctor told Samara about Morinth's condition, did it lead to an irreparable schism between the two? Did the father blame Samara just as much as Samara blames herself?
Or was it the fact that Samara chose to be a Justicar that ended the relationship? She had to dedicate everything to her training, and having a relationship at the same time probably wasn't an option to her. I actually like this theory more, that she could have still had the support of her partner, but she made the choice to go it alone.
I wonder if Samara's heart broke when the doctor told her the news as well. That she felt like her daughters were all dying. That she felt their futures were over.
Also wonder about her comment to Shepard when she said "she's going by the name of Morinth." Makes me think that Morinth was prone to changing her names to hide from her mother.

I assumed that her children were all from the same mate, and that her mate left once they found out their children would all be Ardat-Yakshi. Bioware has done a poor job of convincing me of how strong the stigma is against Pureblood pairings, but it's the only reason I can think of for Samara's mate leaving her.

Even if her mate was heartbroken by the condition of their daughters, they were still her daughters as well. How do you turn away from the love you feel for your child? Even Samara had love for Morinth in the end, she just knew that her love wasn't enough in the end and Morinth had to be stopped.
But that would explain the father still having a relationship with the other two daughters, not necessarily Samara herself.
Still think Samara gave up everything, including whatever she had with her mate, to be a Justicar.

Obviously her mate wasn't against pureblood pairings in the first place, or they'd never have had children. Or we can go with NICKjnp's description of how the genetics are passed down, in which case the other mate doesn't even have to be a pureblood, but I think the developers intended for us to view Morinth as another pureblood.

Her mate might not have been opposed to Pureblood pairings, but left when it was certain that their children would be A-Y. Perhaps she had her reputation to consider, and couldn't be associated with the negative stigma attached to having A-Y children.
I thought it was given that it's the pairing between two Asari that has a greater chance of producing an A-Y, especially if one or both of them carry the A-Y gene. Whether or not the individual Asari in the pairing is a Pureblood isn't necessarily important. It's that the mating itself is Pureblood (Asari/Asari) that makes the difference.

Me and Black were just as confused when we saw it a while ago York, it is really too bad that such a talented artist had to frame Samara in a way that is sort of degrading her imo.

It looks like the artist is just saying that Samara is too old, like a lot of the forum members here state.
"Too old" and "Samara" do not compute.

Damn near every elf woman anyone has ever had the hots for is usually somewhere between 300 and over 10,000. Depending on what elf you're talking about (see Night Elves for the over 10k).
I'm sure there's plenty of other fictional beauties that fit the bill.

A disservice to my Shepard here but...good luck with this one! (its when Jack blows up the bomb while you're still only a few frikkin' miles away)

Today for the first time i decided to fail Samara mission on purpose. One of my favourite moments in ME2 is talking to Morinth in the club, and picking funny choices like: "if you have heard of it, it is already too mainstream for me". So i did plenty of reload there hehe Well the point is that after failing the mission i went to speak with Samara on the normandy (to see what she would say) and it really made me feel bad about her, it seems like without shepard´s help Samara will never be able to caught Morinth. There is a very good moment when Samara says "We failed. I failed" really good voice acting there.

I was "alright" feeling the first time I did that mission, that it would go well. Then Samara tells you that any mistake and Morinth will disappear, and "We only get once chance at this."

I find it hard to believe that anyone who truly understands Samara's character (and her attractiveness) could sincerely consider Samara to be "too old."
*clears throat*
Obviously york, the Samara character is not for the shallow minded. One must also have an appreciation for the finer qualities in a character, to truly admire Samara.

I never, ever want to hear that. At least not on my game, maybe not even then.

You used the wiki the first time? Heresy!
Anyway, you have to be a complete tool to scare Morinth away without doing it on purpose.

If only Samara wasn't so stoic and unreadable, we might be able to speculate more about her relationship with her mate from just the way she says her words alone.

Again.... we don't know if her mate was an Asari at all. Whoever the father(s) were we don't know what species they were from. There is no information suggesting that Ardat-Yakshi are the result of Asaria pairings. All we know is that all of Samara's children are Ardat-Yakshi.

Apart from a few FFXIII Edilon (sp?) battles but that's because I'm a total noob with the combat system...
Besides the point in the first place; I was actually scared of failing the mission. Probably something wrong with me for being sincerely afraid =P Didn't want to screw it up. Samara's warning didn't help my usually repressed paranoia.
I'm a bundle of fun.

Heh. I was also afraid screwing it up. Still remember going all "OH SHI-T" and thinking it was game over when I failed to resist Morinth's mind control. Fortunatly Samara busted through the door and saved the day!

The first time I played that mission I was confused about the option to kill Samara or Morinth. I didn't have subtitles on and when the game cut out I was like... "Huh? What just happened?" Of course I chose Morinth and ended her mother's genocidal actions towards the poor misunderstood Ardat-Yakshi (j/k
