Exactly, the story does not go as deep as what is discussed in these threads.

That seems to be a common occurence on the character threads.

The fans seem to put more thought into these things than the creators.

Kind of funny, that.

Ok, here are the facts

1. Samara does not say whether her partner was Asari or not

2. The race of her partner has nothing to do with her birthing AY, its because she herself is a pureblood

3. Samara tried teaching her children to be good Asari, and taught them Asari principles. hmmm

4. Samara most likely settled down in Asari space. hmmm (PROOF: she read about other races before leaving Asari space to pursue Morinth)

Those are the unbiased facts yall ^ interpret them how you will, but I think her partner was Asari.

EDIT: I'm done discussing this btw

I, too, think that her partner was an Asari, given what I learned from speaking to her.   I'm also done speaking about this.

Fine... I'm done discussing it as well.  And I don't think we know if her mate was an Asari or not.  It is too bad they won't fix that on the wiki page.

Add retcons and contradictions with the info that we do have, and it only exacerbates the confusion.

The Asari are blue aliens that look and sound like human females.  This is pretty much their scope so it seems.  One can go a little further than this, but that is all.  After a while, it becomes pure speculation and we begin to anthropomorphize them and lose focus.

7Makaveli, if you fail Samara loyalty when you tell her in afterlife yo failed she says that she will never have again a chance like this to find Morinth, and that she doesn´t want to talk about it and ask to leave. Then as i said on the normandy if you speak with her you understand how badly Samara needed your help.

I like how Samara says that she won´t die in bed but will fight until she dies, remembered me of wynne in dragon age. I think both characters share some similarities, for example as both are old and wise, and have regrets about their past life. Truth be told i prefer Samara, and i think for the most part the mass effect characters are better as well.

Just kidding:D

Clearly, her mate was a rachni.

It makes perfect sense!

Couple of other talking points I have if you all want to discuss:

1. Samara says that she made a point to immerse herself in other racial cultures before leaving Asari Space. And we saw how in depth she went when she said she knew about Knights and Samurai. Do you guys think this is because she wanted to find out how much her Code may align/differ from other cultures' philosophical ideas of Justice? Or is it perhaps a mildly curious task she undertook that wasn't really necessary, but felt it could help her.

2. We more or less agree that Justicars have a "informational network" connected to the heart of Asari government. But what kind of info would they supply exactly, since the Code seems to be more about finding people in the act of doing something wrong. It seems to be more hands on with finding evidence of a wrongdoing, the Code that is, and having that trail to lead you to a Codebreaker. So how would they go about doing the tasks set out by the info they receive, and the injustice they deal with while progressing to "ground zero"? Would they prioritize? I would think that the information they receive is neutral, meaning they are told about it, and can choose where to go and what to do next.

Well, if we go back to the idea that their original function was to bring to justice lawbreakers who had escaped to other Asari city-states after committing a crime, then perhaps they are furnished with the names and information on known escaped criminals at large. At that point it's up to them whether or not to track them down, sorta of like the FBI's most wanted list.

As for other cultures I suspect it was to help her understand the new races she might interact with while tracking down Morinth. She wouldn't want to unwittingly provoke a confrontation because she had broken some cultural taboo that she could have avoided had she known about it. At least thats one option. The other was that she was simply curious.

Heh, its Disney Mass Effect :)

EDIT: OMFG I saw the panel after I commented and just started rolling.  That was so what I wanted to do, instead of the seduction thing.  I was like thinking, Samara you're daughters f***ing creepy, can I just shoot her now before she figures out how much my skin is crawling.

yea, I gather their "leadership" is just like their Code is; neutral. They information is pooled and sent out to whoever heeds the call. And since Justicars are trained to be resiliant and persistent, they leave it up to them to find ways to appease the Code. There's more to it than that tho, I'm sure. Not more interplay, but more pros/cons interpretations by Justicars themselves, to see how plausible it is to engage certain people/areas.

there should be a Renegade option to that mission where you can just pull out your heavy weapons and clean out Afterlife VIP

I'm sure Samara would be upset that she didn't get to send Morinth off herself, but would see it all the same :D
