@PseudoEthnic,

As you can see, I was right about things slowing down around here.  Only the Tali thread seems to be unaffected.

What were your first impressions of Samara, PseudoEthnic?

When I first saw Samara, it was in some game magazine, and it wasn't an appealing shot(She looked a bit mannish.) However, upon playing the game for the first time, and witnessed her in action, my impressions were, " Holy ****! This chick is awes-...boobs."

-----

I was talking to Samara last night, and I told her that we are friends. However, she said that we could never meet again because of our friendship after the mission was over. See, my main dude is a Renegon, so because my Renegade meter is high, Samara will probably kill me in the third game. I hope that in the third game, I can persuade her to not attack me just because her code says so. I shouldn't be forced to save Morinth just because I'm a renegade.

Mannish?  Some people say she has a "man-jaw", but I don't think a strong jaw is necessarily a masculine trait.  In women, it's distinctive.  At least you were willing to look beyond her "mannish"-ness, and see the rest of her body.  Some people see the jaw and fail to see the rest of her.

I don't think Samara would pick a fight with a Renegade Shepard until after he defeats the Reapers.  Samara knows that the Reapers exist.  She knows that he's the only guy who can get things done, while everyone stands around with their thumbs up their bums.  She would be simultaneously remiss in her observation of the Code to let him go, but also to kill the main upon whose actions the lives of so many innocent people depend.  I think it would be bad writing to have her return in ME3 for Renegade Shepards just to try to kill them.  Simultaneously, Samara should return to help a Paragon Shepard, because there is no greater threat to innocent lives in the galaxy than the Reapers.  If she is bound to punish the wicked and protect the innocent, she must do everything in her power to do so.

It wasn't really the strong jaw that concerned, but just the fact that it was a really bad picture.

I hope you're right. I still don't want to fight Samara, though. After the reapers, I just to chill out on the beach with Tali and Garrus during a long deserved vacation.

Oh Hai gaiz...I crept a few pages back and saw this pic....and I ATE it

ahem.. ..*adjusts collar* ....so do you think Samara's return for a renegade shep will indeed result in violence or is just something that Bioware will pay lip service with a few extra lines and stern glares from Samara? I would think a natural reaction for them meeting again would make Samara a little distraught, but quickly understand that the circumstances they've meet in are dire enough for them to work together again. Or it would be cool if they gave you a Morinth-like "mission failure" option...

Samara: Shepard? What can I do for you?

Shepard: You told me one day if we met again you'd give me a worthy fight. Are you up for it?

Samara: My career is built upon the very act of accepting difficult challenges. You will serve a worthy opponent *flares biotics*

Shepard: May the best-

*critical mission failure*

I wish I knew.  There are so many options, and not all of them are straightforward.  I don't know why Morinth would stick around.  She feels as if she owes you something?  That seems a little flimsy.  I guess it would be hard for her to find more brains to microwave, though, if the Reapers are killing everyone.  That's a very evil reason for wanting to stop the Reapers, though.

I think the reason "man-jaw" is not very appealing at first is because it is an intimidating and avant-garde look for a woman. I commend Bioware for accentuating the character with an uncommon womanly trait that sets her apart not only from the gender, but from the traditional visual anchor upon which the Asari seem to rest. Count me down as one of the "man-jaw" lovers :)

Kind of curious how this bridge DLC shakes out.  I know it is a long ways off.  I wonder if they will tie up a lot of loose ends and questions about the ME2 squadmates.

It does make me wonder, though, if Rana, Samara's face-model, was chosen because they view her strong jaw to be very commanding.  It just adds to Samara's undeniable presence.

I'm afraid not. Though would like to set aside a couple of hours from my busy days to get to play it :) Is it really worth it you think? I haven't read much on it. I'm half weary it will be just another one of those type of deals where they throw repetitive amounts of enemies at you hoping you think that you are getting value out of this ongoing warpath.

Thane gets cured
Grunts has a baby
Garrus becomes a Spectre
Miranda and Jacob hook up again (if they didn't hook up with Shep)
Jack buys a puppy
Samara gets an outfit without a perma-wedgie
Morinth Snu Snus a Kelly
Mordin dies of old age
Tali is shot out the airlock
Legion is the one who shoots Tali out the airlock
Zaeed takes over the blue suns
Kasumi hooks up with Jacob (unless Shepard didn't romance Miranda or Jacob)

I was pleasantly surprised.  I think it's worth the $7.

I'd like to know if Samara would dance with Shepard, if he asked, without romantic intent.  Maybe the Asari treat dance differently than humans.  If she can dance in those heels, she can truly do anything.

How much time spent in open-world missions vs story mission?

*minor spoiler*
I don't want to spoil it for you.  A lot of members seem to like it, some don't though of course.  The Hammerhead is involved, and I wasn't too crazy with that aspect of it.  There is plenty of combat with the squad though.  I liked the beautiful environment. The music was nice and appropriate, but perhaps not varied quite enough. I liked the actual mission story itself. I liked the concept.

There is no squad dialog though.  If you're playing the game on a pc, the mission has been known to crash on quite a few people, including me.

It was worth the $7 to me.  Nothing to really brag about, but not too bad either.

Edit:  Although I have read a lot of posts from members talking about it as if it's the best thing since sliced bread.:P

Edit:  Replaced the word "mako" with the word "hammerhead".:P

This is a very important question Yorkj86 :) As with many things, I'm sure Samara uses her gaudy biotics to enhance the dance experiences. She goes into forays of what seems like airy ballet, and would gracefully accomodate Shepard's who do not know how to dance.

To me atleast, Samara dances in the skies :)

P.S I'm a bit of a dancer myself, thus the significance of your question to me :)

I didn't feel like I got very much rpg play out of it.  It felt like it was just bringing down the sky 2.0.  I guess all the dlc is going to be primarily shooter because they don't want to spend the money to bring the actors in for voice over work for a single piece of dlc... but that is why I was frustrated with it.  It felt like I was being forced to watch the story rather than role play within it.

I think it's even, with slightly more time spent on story missions.  The Hammerhead serves as a means of getting from one important inside-area to the next, though they throw annoying obstacles at you in the Hammerhead, like lava-floe-rock-hopping.  I remember thinking to myself, "Really, Bioware?  Super Mario level design?"  The story is decent, and adequate for the $7.  It's more than just "Oh, what a surprise, Cerberus screwed up some more experiments".

EDIT: Formatting issues.

I accept that as the nature of DLC for this game.  I guess the voice-actors are just too expensive to bring in for DLC.  I guess we have to hope that there will be character-specific DLC in the future.

That's cool.  I like the idea of the Asari viewing the use of biotics as integral to their dance.

EDIT: It's too bad that we probably won't get to see actual Asari dance.  Pole-dancing doesn't count.  Bioware doesn't seem to be too keen on actually showing us alien culture.  They'd prefer to just talk about it, instead.  Kind of boring, at times.

I am not a sound editor specialist, but can't they take existing audio and piece it together?  I know it can be done.  It is done all of the time in other entertainment venues.  Perhaps it's a legal question vs a technical one.

I guess?  I don't really know, either, but if they're now running with the design philosophy that the other teammates will remain silent, why bother?

Anyway, patching together audio reminds me of the episode of South Park where Chef's dialogue was patched together from dialogue from previous episodes, after Isaac Hayes left the show (or was it after he died?  Respectfully, I can't remember).

It was after he left (he died a year or two later).

And I think it would be in bad taste to piece together VA, as they should be getting paid for those lines.

I don't think it would turn out very well.  Watch the entire clip.
