I guess?  I don't really know, either, but if they're now running with the design philosophy that the other teammates will remain silent, why bother?

Improve the DLC quality?

And I think it would be in bad taste to piece together VA, as they should be getting paid for those lines.

That would all depend on the contract that was signed, and the rights that Bioware would have, I would think.

Samara's Asari-ear-pit-things must be tingling, because they're talking about her on /v/. Someone from this thread is posting there, too, because they're calling her Sama-sama.

I've enjoyed Overlord myself, in spite of the lack of squaddies dialogue. I didn't bring Samara along for this one, opting instead for the stronger anti-synthetic squaddies (Tali, Legion, Miranda and Garrus) for role-playing reasons. As reported on the tech-support thread, bringing Legion along to Prometheus station will cause a game crash after the weapon selection screen (apparently so does Kasumi). But aside from that Legion was fine (and was the only squaddie acknowledged by the DLC characters. The music was nice, the atmosphere well-balanced, the production quality was there.

Mark Meer and Jennifer Hale were both brought back for the DLC, obviously, and that suggests other VA's COULD come back if some of the story-bridging DLC is centered on a particular squaddie. Granted, some ME2 players may not be interested in DLC centered on a character they do not care for, but I'm willing to bet these are a minority. I expect most players will be interested by the DLC, if only for the shooting and extra goodies to be gathered (research in particular). I think the market's there for Bioware to explore (especially if they started off with a very popular squaddie, like Garrus or Tali).

Jeez the samara thread grew while I was gone. Finals are almost over and I can start posting regularly again.

As for the overlord DLC, I brought Samara and Legion with me, because it is about geth so it's obvious I needed to bring Legion for the extra dialogue. I brought Samara, because, well, she's Samara. Her reave power was really useful on the geth primes. I was really disappointed neither Legion nor Samara had any dialogue. Probably because it was too expensive to bring in all of the voice actors for one DLC. I was surprised that Archer acknowledged Legion's presence and knew he was geth. That, and when the two squad members are putting the dead in the coffins were nice touches put in by the developers. It was nice to see the shifty looking space cows again but I wish I could have exited the Hammerhead to interact with the environment. Once again, the onboard VI was hilarious. It was a well done DLC.

I remember the moment I got rejected by Samara. It was a bad day. I immediately went on a similar thread and begged bioware for a romance in ME3

I remember it well.  The sky was overcast, the air was thick.  In a fit of rage I fell to my knees in despair.  Desperate cries were unanswered.  Rage against the dying of the light!  I.........um nevermind.

Anyone else hoping that somehow during the course of the overlord dlc samara would have a drastic change of heart and make sweet space love to you? Or was that just me?

Oh well, I'm sure the next DLC will have it. I heard it will be called "Alternate Appearance Pack 2... and Samara Romance Pack"

I remember when I first learned that Samara wasn't romanceable. I was actually pleasantly surprised that there was one person in the universe who wasn't interested in Shepard romantically. Shepard was just getting too Captain Kirk-ish with all the space hotties throwing themselves at him/her.

Yeah, but Kirk is the MAN.  He gets all the ladies, and this is all good.  Kinda reminds me of myself. *cough* *cough*  But yeah, *clears throat* I know what you mean Sian.:D

Well, she is romantically interested in him, but she turns him down nevertheless.  She has things to do, and no time to spare.  What does she say?   "If I were a Maiden, I would drag you to the floor right now, but alas, it cannot be.   Accept it."

I respect her for it...but I felt so empty after the rejection. Image IPB As long as she's a squadmate in the next game I'll get over it. Image IPB
