It would be both funny and sad (sad for the dead Big Daddies) to see Samara running down an ocean-water-flooded Rapture hallway with a veritable swarm of Little Sisters in tow.
Okay, someone needs to draw that now...

I'll look over this for you Ashira
BTW I know someone has asked you this but are the Talinth ancestral descendants of Tali and Morinth? :3

*ahem* Anyway, no =P They are not.
-Stop Reading Here if you Don't Wish to Read me half Ranting Half "Expositing"-
I've gotten quite a bit of flak because of the Talinth. I have to repeat over and over again that I made them before I heard ANYTHING about Mass Effect. The only thing that wasn't settled about them was how exactly they mate. I hadn't come across a "universe" they would fit into well. They were originally intended to debut in my warcraft story, (and they will still appear if only in "near extinction" numbers. Like really close to extinction. Only two will appear. And that's it.)
But the warcraft version of the race was designed to fit that world.
The Mass Effect version of the Talinth was flipped around and changed so it would fit again. Magic for biotics for example.
Granted, doing this story has given me a load of ideas about them as a people. For one, how they express emotions. Think of Legion's head flaps, how they move about when he's talking. Well the Talinth have cattish ears, and they can move them around.
Aggression/Fear - ears fold back against the head
Surprise - Ears perk up sharply
Alert - Ears are open and moving around
Shy/Sad/Embarrassed- Ears are relaxed to flop down either side of the head.
Confused - One ear is left to drop while the other perks up. Usually accented by a tilt of the head.
Same with their tail, though I'm not quite sure how to explain how they express themselves with that. I'm pretty sure you can figure it out for yourselves, since you're all smarty pants

Woops, I should have put a "You don't have to answer that" followed by a pic of Samara with the question marks floating around which JD loves so much XD
anyway I read your excerpts and got the impression that you're diverging Morinth into a half-repentant jaded old loner and Ali'Sha as an unknowing gold-hearted rebel. Is that accurate or am I talking outta my ass again? XD
Also, your writing process is interesting, is at always non-linear? As in you have little pieces you put together into a final draft or is this just a result of your brainstorming?

I knew this story was going to fail...I didn't even think about how I was writing either one of them, I just wanted to get the character's correct so that they seemed to act the way the reader would expect
I just brainstorm about what I'll write as a whole before starting from the first chapter and going from there.
Now excuse me while I brood in the corner.

Nooooooo it hasn't failed at all. I'm no writer Ashira but I do know that the first rush of ideas are always the ones that are easiest to suspect, easiest to object, and easiest to correct XD. You must revel in the process even if it takes you down paths that aren't promising. Pick yourself up lady! And I demand you to look at this story like you're one of your idols. (this is a technique I learned from one of my profs). For example, if you wrote a song and want to know how good it is without showing anyone real, pretend you're Bob Dylan. Now would he appreciate/comprehend/relate to it? That is the question you should ask. Look at your story through the eyes of someone who you wholly admire through their virtues, persistence, and creativity. I dunno, pretend you're Samara
I know this sounds like some buddhist type of dealy, but t has helped me out in the past, but the point is you shouldn't quit :3 I didn't mean to sound harsh.

Are any of you interested in joining a Mass Effect RP? If so, a friend of mine and I have created a Play-by-Email Mass Effect roleplay/SIM called the Myrmidon Cell
In it, you play as a Cerberus operative. You are given a mission every month, and need to complete a 'mission log' detailing your actions. You can also write 'personal logs' to detail non-mission activities and flesh out your character.
The cell is based on Illium, but there will be missions in a variety of locations. The missions can range from collecting valuable intel from an informant to removing an individual
that is getting in the way.
Theres a few logs up already, though so far they're all recruiting/arriving logs. It should get more exciting once we get recruitment out of the way.
For more information, please visit the site or the group.

planning any non-cerbures operative based RP's? Kinda gotten sick of following TIM's lead at this point.

Currently, no. The reason we went with a Cerberus based RP was because of the freedom that comes with the Cerberus setting. To do something set in the Alliance would force us to use Alliance military missions of a particular nature, not granting much freedom. Also, this way we can cater missions to match the people we have involved.
Creating a merc based RP would also provide similar freedoms, but we would also be more restriced in the areas we can operate and there would also be less of the 'mission log' structure, which is central to this style of RP.

If your thinking about it you probably already have some idea in mind that intrigues you. So write it!
ps. really that is my suggestion, you have to have something in mind that drives you enough to sit at the keyboard and write it out.
