You know, up untill I met Aria and Samara I hated all the Asari in all the ME games. I just did not get what the big deal was. Aria was just bad ass right from the get go but Samara is simply just 'Awesome'. It is dissapointing that some people thing she is boring while others simply don't like her because they can't romance her. I think not being able to rromance her makes her more a much more complicated character. I enjoy having talks with a strong female character, one that can talk with Shepard as an equal instead of a love sick schoolgirl.
I really hope she comes back in ME3 because I would really miss her if she was not in ME3. She was my 3rd favorite character behind Mordin and Miranda.

We've talked about this a couple of times in this thread. Some of us think that a Samara romance couldn't be done tastefully and with respect to her character for the very reason you listed. Bioware tends to have trouble writing romances for Shepard where the person hasn't secretly been in love with Shepard since the moment they met him.

If they can pull off a romance where Samara is seen as Shepard's equal and not some girl that falls madly in love with him or that other romantic comedy bull**** but I very meaningful relationship for both of them that is also written well.

who made this? I like it, Mordin seems obnoxious, Samara seems cranky, Garrus looks like a bandwagoner, Tali prolly doesn't know who she's cheering for but enjoying it nonetheless

nicely done, this is more like a portrait than a sketch. meaning it seems to be done more for artful purposes than for getting it fully accurate, and I like it for that

Yeah! We had some user-made designs for some alternate outfits for Samara, and most of them had her still wearing her gold collar. It's very distinctive, and makes her look very regal.
