I think it's good that Kasumi has a line for Samara, in that situation.  It gives an outsider's perspective.  It makes the player realize that perhaps he's made an error.

When Kasumi says the line, she sounds surprised, and that's superb, because she sounds surprised that Shepard would even try it with Samara.  Even she admits that Samara has such a huge presence, both physically, and by her personality.  Kasumi, the woman who makes a career from being cunning and observant, sounds as if she knows that Shepard made a mistake.

*feels like scum* :crying:

Samara's just so awesome, how could you not try?

I would have chosen to try for the romance, but it was in the renegade slot, and I avoid that slot like the plague.

I've been trying to think of a Samara romance that fit her character, and this is the best I got:

After helping out Samara, she approaches you and tells you how much she appreciates your help and says something along the lines of what she said during her loyalty mission "only soul I can imagine sharing it with."

Then a whole bunch of similar lines that I had thought of, then got distracted while typing this and forgot. Maybe something about trying to settle down again after the reapers, like "The thought of starting a family has not yet left my mind, and with you, I would not need to worry about my children being Ardat-Yakshi. You have lifted many burdens from me, I could not imagine sharing a family with any other soul." (I tried to make that as close to something she would say as possible)

And the rest of the romance dialogues will consist of meditating and back story sharing, if bioware stays with the talk-talk-talk-talk-romance before final mission. Also, if bioware does the "call up to cabin" again, Samara's choices would be meditate under the window, and sit on the couch. But she wouldn't be sitting on your lap, she would be sitting across from you talking.

I'd remove the call-up-to-cabin option, and have the only option being silent, joint meditation in the darkness of the Observation Deck.  No interface pop-up, just press Space to end the scene.  The quiet, calm environment would drive off the people who are only interested in her for sex.

I agree that would be much better and more realistic, but I was saying what would most likely happen if they kept it. Plus on the ME wiki, it says Samara's room is also the public library of the Normandy, so I thought the cabin would leave them less likely to be disturbed. But that all depends on the survival of the SR-2. Also, although I agree with your suggestion, I think BioWare shouldn't go all out with the sex driven gamer repellent. Cover her up with better armor and don't give her a sex scene, but don't change her seductive voice or keep all passion out of the relationship.

This. I've only done the almost-kiss option once, and I felt weird about it. I wish there was an option to apologize.

Well, what were your considerations and motivations, when you decided to try for the "romance" scene, Ashira?

Well when I first saw the option I was too chicken to click on it and got the "should you ever need me again, you can call on me for aid" etc etc dialogue. Not that I was disappointed with that, I really liked that particular piece. I just grinned to myself like a happy lolcat "heehee, I haz fwendz" =P

Then knowing what happened - and knowing the world (and shepard) was not reduced to ash (because obviously biotics can burn things...obviously) - I went for it, and ended up liking it more.

I do admit, that after having done it a few times now, Hale is not suited for VAing a romance scene. She's adept at being badass and a deadpan snarker...but...

You could put down my lack of "guilt" to being a child (17) - but I am steadily growing more paranoid and hateful for following through with it. "There is Hope For Me Yet"

That would be an infinetely comforting thought.

It's not that I'm one of the fans who just sees her breasts (lovely as they) and wants her just for that. I loved the entire character, I adore strong, "mystical" and/or mysterious female characters.

None of the other female characters seemed that interesting (just to me) in either ME games, yet Samara was utterly perfect.

I can't help thinking that BioWare threw Samara in as a mirror to be held up to ourselves. "Look at what you just did, you just pushed for casual sex. If you cared about the character you would know she wouldn't go for it, and if you just wanted her for her boobs, you need to examine yourself." They have thrown in things to somewhat mock us, like the salarians email about Thane. And the way they mocked RPGs with conrad verner's line "it was like people were just standing around waiting for me to help them. Plus I poked through crates, you know, for extra creds."

I never clicked on the casual-sex option, and I never will. Seeing that option I really did think Shepard was going to see deep space again from the inside of a hardsuit. Or not. He could've just been slammed hard into the wall to leave a vaguely human shaped dent. A very bloody dent.

Do you know what is more frustrating than trying to find a romance situation that would go with Samara's character? Providing tech support to elderly family members. I had to explain what a right click was :crying:

It can be frustrating dealing with people that are totally illiterate with computers. I was helping a friend over the phone the other day. It took about 30 min, but if I had been there, I could have accomplished the same in about 5 min.

I'm not sure where I stand with that. Liara was a very interesting character in ME1, with very realistic emotions and features. In ME2 and Redemption her character was just... butchered. I think Shiala could be the most interesting asari if she was given an in depth look and important role in ME3, which I REALLY hope she is. She's the one asari with a voice that can rival Samara's.

[instigating]  If it wasn't for biotics, Samara would be completely inferior to Shiala [/instigating]
But in all seriousness, Samara is a better squad mate. Shiala is just good to have because of the cipher and her meld with the thorian, I doubt she could stand a chance against Samara.

Sex is a normal part of most relationships, so i would see it as an unrealistic relationship if they went that route because, i mean come on, Shepard is a 31 human , he/she will probably want sex.

Now that said, i would like them to do a sex scene that doesn't focus on the act but more about the passion involved. Make it a very delicate and meanigful thing.

Shepard's 31, not that the difference between 20 and 31 means anything when one has the Kirk Genes.

I just have a hard time picturing how they could focus on the passion. And when I said that I didn't mean I didn't want a sex scene. I would very much like one.

I would consider Shepard 29, as s/he did not experience those two years while dead. We also do not know how much time s/he spent "alive" but unconscious.

Im not trying to come off as "I'm right your wrong" or anything like that, im laid back and was just stating my opinion on the matter.

Some Movie director's can make sex scenes that focus on passion and work well..... and then there are movies like Watchmen........

Don't worry you didn't come off that way. I never saw watchman so I don't know what you're referring too, I'm guessing it was a bad scene?
