How do you think of Samara, pprrff?  What were your first impressions of her?  Some people think she's cold, calculating, and difficult to relate to.  Others, namely, people in this thread, see some warmth that shows through her stern exterior, especially when she smiles.

Focus on Sovereign produces what effect?

What's the neutral option?

"Focus on Sovereign"

Its the middle option on the dialogue wheel at that point, and it nets you less (any?) renegade points.

I replayed the same Shepard 2 times from the Saren battle, using "Let the Council Die" resulted in the dark passageway (location) dialogue between Anderson and Udina and a red splash character ending (renegade).

Picking "Focus on Sovereign" resulted in the lighter passageway (location) dialogue between Anderson and Udina, and the blue splash character ending (paragon).

After that line you can also promote an all human council (renegade) or the need to rebuild the council with human membership.  This choice changes the ending speech that either Udina or Anderson give. My personal favourite is the renegade speech delivered by Anderson.  Powerful stuff.

The Alliance focuses on Sovereign and destroy it, and the Geth destroy the Destiny Ascension.

I believe the ending regarding the location of the talk with Udina and Anderson, only depends on Renegade/Paragon points that the player has, not the actual decision itself.

First impression? cold yes, but I pretty much expected that. Thane was pretty cold, so is Miranda and Jack (if not outright hostile), and even Garrus. Also, I don't know if you know any Asian martial arts novels, but in those stories, its not uncommon for some characters have this absoute and strict code of conduct; so that aspect never bothered me.

The whole idea of Justicar is especially intriguing, since before that, the most developed back story we have of asari are their reproductive method and longevity. It's rather romantic (in the literary sense) to see that an advance culture have this medieval type of organization, and it is also interesting th the asari in general gladly accept the Justicar's action without reservation. It's refreshing for me becuase We see justice in terms of legal proceeding, due process, fairness for the accused, rights of indivdual ... , sometimes we accept less than absolute justice (letting a suspect walk free rather than using illegal evidence) in order to preserve individual rights (nothing wrong with that).

Then of course her loyalty mission (or rather afterward) flushed out her character even more, and the finally dialogue was pretty touching, even if you didn't on her. Of course I wished her Loyalty mission involved me chasing Morinth through a warehouse or something, but I guess that was bit overused.

Well, uh.  There will a new series of ME comics, this one concerning TIM and his rise to power.  It's not exactly Samara-related, but it's a bump.

It would have been more interesting and more gameplay of course, to have had bridging DLC between ME1&2, instead of a comic covering it.

Probably costs less to produce the comic series than to bring in Martin Sheen just for DLC,

I would like to see that Salarian hitman that works for the SB, in ME3.  What's his name?

That picture of Samara is kind of cute, kelmar. Do you just do regular searches on DA for new Samara fanart?

No posting pictures to get there!  That's the easy way out.  Samara tells us the expedient path isn't always the correct one.

This thread isn't like it used to be. We used to have some pretty interesting discussions, with lengthy and well thought out posts, but alas, the glory days are over. Now it's just pic uploads, with a little chat her and there. Of course there never were very many of frequenters in this thread.

Yes, but she also says, sometimes the most brutal path is the only honest one

Most of the threads are like that.  Only the Tali thread is unaffected.  The Liara thread used to be active, but no longer.

I didn't expect that the forums would always move as fast as they did back in January.  I take some solace in the fact that there are people out there who genuinely enjoy Samara's character, but don't know about the existence of these forums, or just don't care for discussion.

That doesn't mean I won't be sad at seeing the Samara thread slip past page five, though :crying:

Clearly, the most brutal path here is to deny ourselves gratification by taking the more laborious path.

The gratification is there to be had at the end, after 400 pages Samara thread will be free. She will be a broken vessel of lengthy discussions and pic uploads, but she will be free. It is not a feeling she can describe.

Now now, let's not speak as if we're all resolving to let the thread die once it reaches 400 pages.

Not at all. Just saying that after 400 pages Samara thread will finally be at peace. and will realize that when it dies, it will not be in bed.
