Samara seemed to be down about how she'd have to kill her children....but I'm sure Shep wouldn't mind being the father of a little asari girl!
With Shepard? Two parents with supermassive personalities? What kind of child would that produce?

Samara, to me, is the strong woman archetype in ME, more specifically the strong mother. But in an odd twist of fate instead of protecting her children, she's hunting one down. And somehow it just works even though the archetypical structure of it is flipped upside down somewhat. She has to rise not only be a stronger mother, by doing what she had to do, but also a stronger protector, by making herself vulnerable to not one, but two dire consequences, her life or her daughter's. Quite an ironic form of justice, almost unfair if you look at it from a less pure stance.
EDIT: I dunno if I'm making sense anymore, but its only cause I'm multitasking, I tend to do that
I always got the impression that Samara felt that killing Morinth was a way of redeeming herself. As though it was a stain on her intergrity and on that of the daughter who had to bear the curse she forced upon her. In some way, she saw killing her as a loving, motherly act, and her responsibility. She is of an alien culture after all, I and enjoyed this exploration of vastly alien values.
It does have a bit of alien philosophy if not strictly Asari philosophy to it. I cannot imagine a human in the same position taking the same actions as Samara, or even Morinth for that matter.
I can imagine a human in Samara's position. Imagine how the parents of Jeffrey Dahmer, John Wayne Gacy, Ted Bundy, etc. must have felt. Presumably the parent of a serial killer might feel that their child's death is a necessary thing, though of course in the real world such things would be left to the authorities. Of course in the ME universe, Samara IS the authorities.
Well, in my other post I speculated that humans may lean towards catharsis more often than not, and perhaps alien culture is fundamentally different in that aspect. In regards to if parents of human serial killers would want their child to get the ultimate punishment, sure its possible, but if they themselves are put up to the task I think thier personal stake and intuitive vulnerabilites in this would prevent them from attempting it IMO (aside from the fac that is should be left to the authorities), which is what makes Samara's story so unique.

One that could destroy the world simply by sneezing...
Oh wait that's two superpowerful beings of magic.
As a child?
She would have more cuteness appeal than Tali.

When I told my mother about Samara, and the story around her (because I knew she would have some reaction to it) the first thing she said, genuinely, was "What a good mother." Because my mother isn't that strong, and she's told me before that if I ever killed she would help me hide the bodies, purely on the grounds that she doesn't want anyone to hurt me in spite of what I might have done.
So there's one human parental view point.
Then again my mother is crazy about her children, but what mother isn't to some varying degree?
That is a great point. A parent child bond has the potential to suspend logic through justice amongst other things, simply out of emotional attachment. Samara X Morinth although is still a human story in that way because even after what Morinth had done Samara lavished her with proud words. But she had to be even stronger than a good mother, that was her redemption I suppose, and then also an unequivocally loyal follower of her Code.

I wonder if it was ever made known to anyone in the Justicar Order that one of her reasons for becoming a Justicar was to resolve a situation she had allowed to get out of hand.

On topic now, maybe that's why so many seem to not like her character? Because she doesn't seem to let her emotions rule over her actions, like so many of the other "professionals" on your team do.

And I can imagine how pissed off the humans-first advocates would be, in learning that humanity's hero's child will not have his genes. Not only that, he's coupled with a woman who follows an alien philosophy.

This has the working of a crack fic...
Or if done well enough, some uber drama.
Hell hath no fury like the Commander when their child is kidnapped. (And Samara, I'd imagine)

Is this Samara finding out about her daughters being AY?
Yup.
It was quite difficult to decide how to portray it, but in the end I decided to go for a very basic, almost boring composition, to add to the clinical way her life was destroyed.
