Bioware won't take a character out through DLC, so you are right there. I don't think they are even going to give an explanation for why she is still there, they just won't want to steal a character from us. Is Shepard's mission just the collectors? Or is it extended to the reapers after the link is discovered? If so, she is still under the umbrella of the Third Oath. If not, she is doing it because she has deemed the reapers a great threat to innocents or has a friendship with Shepard.Flamewielder wrote...
I was pondering what Samara's intentions are for the future. From a metagaming perspective, she's gonna stick around for a while until all the bridge DLC has played through, so this implies she either finds Shepard's company agreeable and compatible with her own purposes OR she will be working under the Third Oath's umbrella for a while yet, having judged the fight against the Reaper sufficiant justification to do so.
She did mention that she would help Shepard when called upon, and Shepard is definitely going to need all the help he can get to stop the reapers. So Samara has reason to leave for ME3, but that also gives me hope: it means we may have to recruit her once again, re-introducing the character for the noob players. Shepard may end up saving Samara's life ("à la Garrus") to recruit her, invoking a higher purpose (i.e. the Reapers) in the case of noobs and Renegades, Reapers and friendship in the case of older Paragon/Paragade players.

Any screenshots of Samara with the new assault rifle floating about?
I could take some. i can't guarantee that they'd be masterpieces, though.

I have to point out that calling Samara a grandmother is...cruel actually. After all her children can never have children their all sterile.
That is sad. I agree with you. What to call her? Momma Sama-sama? That would also be a tender subject. Matron Sama-sama? Matron is an asari life-stage.

What happened to just calling her "Samara"? =P
Cutesifying the Warrior of Justice makes it easier to relate to her!

I'm sure my fangirl mind can think of many situations where Samara would be considered cute.
But in the realms of sanity and non-crack...
It wouldn't even be story ideas, just tiny snippets of a moment.
Like, Samara playing with her daughters when they were still small or something.

And Morinth sitting in the corner, pouting, torturing a small animal?

No. <_<
"Morinth was always the wild one, she was happy and free, but selfish." <- Samara's words.

"Do you still believe in love, Samara?"
"Conceptually? Of course."
"But..."
"You must realize I cannot bother to test nor endure its practicality. But I have chosen silence, not ignorance"
"The father of you're children?"
"Long gone, in a deep pocket of my memories"
"But not buried. Do you miss being together?"
"More than words"
"Isn't that a premonition that you need someone? You can't bury your desires."
"Its not a matter of need or want, Shepard, my time has passed, my obligations are the present. Furthermore, my desires are contained, that is the need"
"But if you understand love than you know it overrules any other present obligations, unless you're simply afraid. But you're not afraid, you've admitted feelings for me."
"You misunderstand...we can't do this"
"I'm not doing anything that's not happening already"
"Come here"
"But I don't want to make you do anything against your will"
"Stand by me"
".....oh...Samara"
"How does this feel?"
"Beautifully painful...I know I can't have this, but I want to nurse your wounds Samara. I want to share your burdens.
"Then you too, are in love with a concept..."
"This isn't real?"
"It's as real my Oath to you, a fleeting moment, a bond thrust apart by physical forces. But know that my honor and trust in you will never waver"
"You promised you'd come for me"
"Do you doubt it?"
"No, see...I mean it to say....I'll be there for you"
"...Shepard...."

I wasn't sure if people would realize that Samara melded with Shepard there. But it was a light meld, one that retained both their consciousness, allowing Shepard to question the reality of what Samara was sharing with her; her trials. She felt she owed her enough to atleast show her those things, so that Shepard could have perspective, and come to accept the void between them as only physical in nature, out of necessity. The moral is that the bond can only be spiritual in nature, that's what was so hard for Shepard to grasp. Thus, being the resolve I extracted from the picture, that Shepard would be her mirror.
I hope that's what came through, but if someone saw something else, or nothing at all in it, then that's fine as well. The reason the narrative is abstract is so people can view it in their own light and come to make sense of what just happened.
