To add to the maturity level, I am so tempted to post up close and personal screenshots of Samara's upper torso with Miranda's upper torso to make a point.

"Much point."

Hasn't that user "trolled" this board before? Or at least dropped in to say he didn't care for the character much/at all.

One good thing from the PS3 announcement... our squadmates from ME2 (Samara) will likely be returning in ME3 as squadies. Sadly... that probably means a certain one we were hoping for (Wrex) won't be returning.

Very nice short on the picture Mak, I like the difference she pointed out while talking to him.

I like it, Mak. I liked hearing Samara's thought-process.

Wow, Mak. You've always been funny with the quick stuff, but that was a really good dramatic exchange. I dig it.

That was an interesting dialog Mak. :)

Mak is humbled :D

hey York, did the story somewhat relate to your vision of what the picture was about? did anyone else have a completely different take on the picture than what I did?

You know guys, besides getting enjoyment out of the writing process...I do these to create some discussion here :P

What?   Was that directly stated, that the ME2 squadmates would be returning?

The general message of the picture is that Samara is giving confidence and encouragement to Shepard.   That conversation they have is one way to do it.

NO... but the fact that the PS3 only gets ME1 and not ME2 means there will be more of a focus on ME2 choices and squadmates.

Or they could bank on this idea that creating newer characters and meeting them is "part of the ME experience", so they'll make new ones again and ditch remaining ones who can die into cameos >.>

my point is, we really don't know what they're capable of, at this point I wouldn't rule anything out or in based on what happens between, unless its explicit.

EDIT: nvm

I want to read about Samara's technological competence. I'd like to know if she's kept up with the times, being an older person, and constantly working on her own.

I imagine she would be able to maintain her weapons at the very least.

I suspect she is likely well versed in forensic procedures, working in collaboration with asari authorities (such as coroners and other forensic experts). Not to the point of being an expert of course, but knowlegeable enough to be aware of the expertise available out there, sampling methodology (i.e. how NOT to compromise the integrity of a crime scene, etc...). Combat-related technologies such as armor & weapons maintenance, omni-tool operation and field repair, ground/aircar operation. She may also have picked up and maintained some piloting skills as a mercenary (having eliminated all her merc partners, she had to pilot that ship back to some kind of station to release the slaves).

Justicars have nothing but weapons, armor, and their omnitool, I would believe each of those would be upgraded as frequently as possible, I'm just not sure if she confiscates them from Codebreakers or not (likely not as that could potentially cloud their judgment). I'm also not sure if the Code details just how she should maintain her materials, I suppose the Order has constructed a methodology around that.

Question? We've got a sutra for that. :)

Hello Samara fans, just dropping by to drop a quick question and show my support for Samara. I've never actually poked my head in here, but from what I understand, this is one of the few fan threads where a lot of in-depth, and actually character-related discussion occurs (much like the Jack thread).

Samara is one of my favorite characters in the game, and her almost-romance scene is heart wrenching. Bioware really hit the nail on the head with that scene. Is that the general consensus around here? That even though she isn't a full fledged romance option, the writing was good enough to still be greatly appreciated, and maybe even preferred to an just averagely written actual romance? And do most of you want to see Samara become a romance option in ME3, if it's done right?

Sorry if this has been discussed to death, which it more than likely has been, but I wanted my first post in here to bring forth some good discussion and thought. I also just happened to be interested in these topics ^_^

Really. She won't be in my version of ME3 that's for sure. Had her killed off in ME2. My opinion, most boring, emotionless character ever in ME universe.

We all seem to like it.  The tone of her voice, and the expression(s) on her face when she admits that she has feelings for Shepard, but must decline pursuing them because of her dedication to the Code, those are deeply affecting.

As for Samara becoming a romance option in ME3, the consensus seems to be that it should only be done if it would respect her character.  Her character shouldn't develop just to pave the way for a romance.

I think that if there were to be a Samara romance in ME3, it should be very solemn and touching.

Here's hoping that your hoping won't exclude her from ME3 for the rest of us.

Don't get me wrong. The Asari are a cool species.  I feel Liara will have a major role in ME3 with Samara taking a back seat.
