Greetings from the Talimancer Nation, you Samara Lovers. I come in Peace,
and I have a question or two. I've been playing ME2 for some time now (I'm
at six playthroughs) and I feel like the time has come to try out some of the
other Romances, despite the fact that I feel like I'm betraying Tali in some way.

After long consideration, I've decided to choose Samara (even though I understand
she's not *technically* a LI) since out of the three Female Characters I acutally like
she is number two. Truth be told, my affection stems from my being a rather large
Star Wars Geek, and Samara is essentially a Jedi Sentinel, seeking out Darkness
in the Galaxy and taking it on while possesing some insane Force...*ahem*... I mean
Biotic powers. Anyway, all this aside there are some things that I wanted clarification
on.

When someone wants to pursue the 'Semi' Romance with Samara I understand that
you CAN NOT persue 'any' Romantic Dialogue with any of the other Female Squadies.
Also, that you must be Paragon and select just the right dialogue prompts. To add to
that, what are the dialogue choices? I know this is alot, but, I'd like to have at leat one
game where Samara was Shepard's LI, just in case the Devs decide to bring her back
in ME2. And I hope they do. Like I said, Tali is number one, hands down. But, since I
do like Samara, I hope you guys and gals get what you want. Thanks folks.

As I understand it, Morinth is pretty much a carbon copy of her mother with the exception of a different loyalty power, so I cannot really grasp why they would give the option in the first place. A clear cut move to distinguish the Paragons from the Renegades?

I got the almost-romance dialogue with Samara while I was romancing Tali, it's more dependant on your alignment being a Paragon. Naturally, just keep talking to her after missions, it comes up after her loyalty mission like all the other LIs. It's been a little while since I've played so forgive me if this isn't completely accurate. But I believe after a while of talking and getting to know her, she will comment on Shepard being a good friend, glad they are friends, something to that effect anyway... and you'll have the option of "I want more".

Yep. My biggest fear is that it might prove to be slight obstacle for including Samara in ME3. Do you agree or is my worry misplaced?

She will be in ME3, I'm sure. I recall hearing Casey Hudson saying that the ME2 squad will appear, it's just up in the air as to what end they'll show up. Though it is right to be worried in regards to Samara, it just adds another variable Bioware would have to consider in the transfer, whether she died in her loyalty mission or not.

Realisticly there is an obstacle for nearly all of the characters in the ME series.  Liara being the biggest exception.

No, Samara will have a big role in ME 3, or bioware will face the wrath of this thread.

My thanks to John, Vagrant, etc, for jumping on this to answer my question.
Also, thanks for the Vid link. I've seen the scene before, and it always gets
me a little choked up. Uh...you know, in a Manly way, of course...*ahem*
Anyway, it always burned my backside a little to learn that Samara would
not be part of the other 'main' LIs.

Why would you create a character so
provocative and charimatic only to say, "Nope, sorry folks." Ala Seinfield,
"No Love for you!" Its always left me scratching my head. Well, everyone
here seems pretty sure that Samara will return for ME3 and that she'll
be a complete LI, and like I said I hope she is. Both for her fan-base, and
for the people like me who just like the character in a standard way. Well,
again, thanks folks.

Gentlemen and Ladies of the Code, we are above this bickering. We trust Bioware to give Samara a fair and just role to play in Mass Effect 2.

We shall not imply that her survival depends on our posting about her, but instead shall come to peace with the fact that Bioware are yet to make a disappointing game (at least, in most people's opinions). We shall discuss our beloved mystic warrior, not imply threats of violence towards The Evil One and his kin.

"I like your species. I am curious to see what you will do."

Argh. Why did Bioware put in so little dialogue for her? I would speak with her until physically incapable of saying another word. Samara can talk my ear off any day.

I guess this is why we have the wonderful and dangerous tool known as "fan-fiction".  I'm going to start writing some of my own, simulating how I think Samara might answer certain questions and address certain topics.

I would encourage you to do so. You've shown to have some  wonderful insight and understanding of the character. I don't read fan-fiction, because like you implied, it can be "dangerous". Or as I would put... bloody terrible. But I think you could do the character justice and I'd love to read what ideas you have a-brewin'.

"Does the Code forbid romantic involvement?"

...*Blankly Stares At Shephard*

"It does not.."

That was such a chilling moment. How they pulled off something like that in a game is beyond me. Its almost like they put her in as the ultimate physical and mental temptation. Obviously on the physical side, she's a thing of pure beauty. But mentally probably one of the strongest being you've come across and bouncing abstract questions off her are handled so casually by her. I wish the guy in the video picked the "Completely?" option in his conversation so I could see her give that half smile and acknowledge her flatterment.

All her dialogue is exceptional, to bad there's not much of it.
