It's International Talk Like a Pirate Day. Would Samara amuse herself, and participate?

I doubt it, but she might have a good time (subtly of course) watching the humans around her if they participated. B)

Unless the omnitool translator utility has an "International Talk Like a Pirate Day" setting, she'd have to turn her translator off to participate.

I really wonder what asari sounds like.

Pirate Day

Joker: Arm the cannons ye swabs! *swings wooden sword in the air*

Jacob, Grunt, Tali: Aye, Aye!

Shepard: Scurvy dogs, I'll see ye all swallowed by the great seas! Return fire!

Kasumi, Jack, Garrus: Aye, Cap'n Shepard!

Miranda: *walks out of her office to see how the mess has been turned into a battle on the "seas" with a "ship" at either end* What are you doing?

Legion: We believe it is what you call "International Talk Like a Pirate Day" - we do not understand why it has reduced the crew and Shepard-Commander to a child-like state...

Miranda: Why are you wearing that...? *points at red bandana on Legion's headflaps*

Legion: *pause* No data available...

Feel free to continue from that XD (Mak especially)

Though I prefer her strawberry suit, I have Samara wear her black suit after she kills Morinth, for roleplaying reasons.  I just assume that the asari wear black as a mourning color.

On my screen it's a dark blue and I assumed she was wearing it because she had fulfilled her oath to bring Morinth to justice.  But that's just me

...as ship night settled over Speak like a Pirate Day and the lights dimmed on the passed out drunken revelers, Samara wandered into the mess hall. She smiled at her softly snoring companions: Grunt, with his foil-covered cardboard cutlass, Jacob, bare chested, with a plastic boarding axe and flintlock pistol replica, Shepard, looking quite dashing with a bandana, laced shirt and waistcoat... Even Miranda had finally joined in the fun, borrowing an eyepatch from Dr Chakwas and pinning what looked like a green paper parrot on her shoulder.

A familiar synthesized voice commented:

Legion - "We are curious, Samara Justicar: you did not participate in this reconstitution. Is this type of activity productive in any way?"

Samara - "It is not meant to be so, Legion."

Legion *turning to leave*- "Organics are confusing. We must ponder the question further"

Samara *softly whispering* -

"Anchored in an indigo moonlit bay
Gold eyed 'round fires
The sea thieves lay
Morning, white shells
And a pipe of clay
As the wind filled their footprints
They were far, far away..."

Shepard: argh there be the booty! *points to miranda* get her first mate Legion!

Legion: *headflaps....flap* Why would we restrain Operative Lawson because of the size of her posterior?

Miranda: I am not playing pirate when there are mission reports to be filed.

Shepard: alright then, new first mate Samara please capture the booty! *points wooden sword at Miranda*

Samara: aye aye Cap'n Shepard *walks behind miranda and whispers* I'd appreciate it if you played along. it's been a while since I've seen Shepard this joyful.

Miranda:...oh alright. Oh no, I've been captured, someone please rescue me!

Legion: we will need to study why the crew of the normandy has suddenly erupted into a civil war. *walks off to the AI Core room*

Ah I think Flamewielder's is more likely and I loved that poem, but I also liked Maks.

Samara was quoting "Pirates", a song written by Keith Emerson, Greg Lake and Peter Sinfield. It speaks of the sea-thieves' love of freedom and the price they pay for it. One of my favorites.

I figured the scene would occur post-mission, sometime between ME2 and ME3.

From the motivational thread.

Now setting the fact aside that you'd suffocate in space...wouldn't that sufficiantly surprise her?

Just meditating peacefully and then WTF SHEPARD!

It would probably startle her enough to knock her out of her meditative state, if only for a moment.  Her eyes stop glowing and her mass effect field disappears just long enough for her to figure out what's going on.

That's amusing to think about. Samara is meditating, while Shepard has put on a space-suit to walk around the hull of the ship to do repairs, after the suicide mission. Passing by the observation room, he leans over the window from outside and waves at Samara. What does Samara do?

We need Mak for another short story :D

But otherwise, certainly surprised or curious at least if Shepard hadn't warned in advance.

*meditations-meditations-meditations-Shepard waving from space-medita-WUT?* "Oh...hello Shepard," *awkward wave*

I don't know.

Curious question from chatter in the waffles group, how tall do you guys think Samara is? We went from Amazonian (Crimmz) to 5'8 (Me - and without heels).

That was a stealth-edit, Ashira.   i didn't even see it until 5+ hours after you posted that comment!  :(

I think Samara is around 5'8", yes.

EDIT:  Nick made a good point.   We should wait to see what Bioware says about the Samara cosplay thread.

I question that "rasing money" ad. I would wait and see what Bioware says about it first. It seems like this would be something they would let us know about... or fund themselves.

I think it's legit based on her Facebook page here, which is also linked from her modeling page.

Call me a pessimist... but I'm going to wait and see what Bioware says.  If it is legit... then great.  I'm not handing over money until then.
