When someone wants to pursue the 'Semi' Romance with Samara I understand that
you CAN NOT persue 'any' Romantic Dialogue with any of the other Female Squadies.
Also, that you must be Paragon and select just the right dialogue prompts. To add to
that, what are the dialogue choices? I know this is alot, but, I'd like to have at leat one
game where Samara was Shepard's LI, just in case the Devs decide to bring her back
in ME2. And I hope they do. Like I said, Tali is number one, hands down. But, since I
do like Samara, I hope you guys and gals get what you want. Thanks folks.

Since you're a self-described Talimancer, it'll be relevant to tell you I "romanced" Samara on my playthrough where I romanced Tali.

It was mostly a Paragon playthrough, 100% Paragon, 50% Renegade at the end (with a 100% boost). I romanced Tali leading up the the disappointing "love" scene before the suicide mission. After the suicide mission I continued speaking with Samara and had the option of telling her something like "I want more than friendship". She turns you down - which is something I love about Samara, by the way - but she acknowledged she's interested. If you're feeling renegade you can ask her for "just sex" to which she'll say that she's too old for such trivialities as "just sex."

So basically, I'm telling you that you can romance someone else, and that the option to "romance" Samara is obvious. I only finished the game 2 times though, so my grasp of Samara "romance" might be flawed. /shrug

Trivia from the Wiki:  http://masseffect.wi...com/wiki/Samara

  • In Hebrew and Arabic, samara translates as 'guardian' or
'protected by god', making it an appropriate name for a justicar.
  • Samara's armor and jewelry were created with feminine lines
and ornate detailing meant to capture her archetypal description of
    "mystic warrior".
  • Through conversations, Shepard has the option to show a
romantic interest in Samara. She dismisses the advance, but notes that
she appreciates the interest nonetheless. This rejection is not due to
the Code, which does not forbid such things, but by her own choice.
  • Interestingly, the holo-projector on level 28 of Zakera
Ward that mentions a potential love interest by name if they are
present is capable of saying "Justicar Samara", despite her not actually
    being a full-fledged romance option.
  • If Shepard is mostly Renegade, Samara comments that if she wasn't
bound to Shepard by the oath, their meeting would have ended in
violence. Otherwise she simply says that if Shepard makes her do
something that goes against her Code, she will kill the Commander after
    their mission is over.

Yeah. Apart from petty squabbles over information, the ME Wiki is great for trivia stuff.

I actually know someone named Samara, and I knew the meaning of the name, so that wasn't so much of a surprise to me.

I wouldn't characterize Samara as "ruthless" so much as "uncompromising". A ruthless person regrets nothing. Samara obviously feels pain or regret:

"Do I really want to know this criminal is also a loving father?"

A ruthless person simply wouldn't care. Samara doesn't want to know because it would hurt.

Complexity, depth, unconventional for a female computer RPG character.

"I'm 43, and Samara's my favorite squadmate in ME2"Posted Image

This is a good point to my question earlier when I asked if it was unfair to say that Samara was honorable yet ruthless.

That is whats so mystifying that there is possibly 100s of people shes killed in her thoughts yet she is unwavering in her duty in any way.

Gentlemen and Ladies of the Code, we are above this bickering. We trust Bioware to give Samara a fair and just role to play in Mass Effect 2.

We shall not imply that her survival depends on our posting about her, but instead shall come to peace with the fact that Bioware are yet to make a disappointing game (at least, in most people's opinions). We shall discuss our beloved mystic warrior, not imply threats of violence towards The Evil One and his kin.

I just want to clarify that I wasn't bickering (sorry if it came off that way). Merely expressing my disappointment if she's missing. No harm intended. I bet ME3 will be a great game either way.Posted Image

Hey now, calm down everybody. Let's keep things on track. How will the relationship between Samara and Renegade Shep culminate in ME3? Would Bioware force a confrontation between the two or allow her to leave (at the end) and make sure she never sees Shepard again?

You'd have to be more specific - Renegade how? It's not like Samara is full Paragon according to ME definition, anyway.

I think what he means is that a Renegade Shep is warned by Samara that if she weren't bound by her Oath to him, she'd probably... uh... try to kill him.

Samara says her Code doesnt bring about spiritual enlightenment. And it certainly doesnt promote peaceful resolutions. She would even kill her admirers if the Code demanded it. I dont see any way a renegade shepard could co exist with her without the 3rd oath

I think that the point is this: There are plenty of Renegade actions which Samara would have no reason to object to. Or at least, we as players have no reason to think she'd object.

Essentially, Samara's focus on the code puts her along a different spectrum than Shepard's Paragon/Renegade one. Obviously Samara would commit many actions which a Paragon Shepard would find unacceptable. On the other hand, it's easy to see how she might disagree with some (if not many) Renegade Shepard actions.

Just to clarify: I'm not being intentionally dense (or unintentionally). I just think that it can go either way... and of course it's up to the development team anyway :)

Sorry about the vague question. Doesn't Samara mention in dialogue that she hopes she won't meet Shepard after the mission if his/her renegade points are too high? Or maybe my memory is off...well, 7Makaveli and lastpawn, you understood what I meant. Thanks for answering.

Seriously, the best thing for the participants in this thread to do, is to not respond to any more troll posts IMO. It will only bring more trolls IMO. (Don't feed the trolls).:)

Yeah, I only bother replying to them every once in a while. I don't want that punch to get stale. *cough* assuming control of this photobucket *cough*

*Does another playthrough where the only character remotely romanced is Samara*

Why is it that in both games it's the uberbiotic characters that get me the most? ME1? Liara ftw. ME2? Jack'n Samara ftw (alphabetic order, not preferencial)
