question/topic: if you could have Samara along for the ride during one stage of ME1 which would it be?
For me it would have to be Noveria simply for her reaction to Benezia, my Shepard releasing the Rachni queen and the loads of other interesting/morally questionable characters and quests the player encounters there. (administrator anoleis, the asari eavesdropper lady, hanar smuggler and captain motsuo etc.)

But aren't you the model that Bioware based Samara's face on?

She came to the forums to thank everyone for their support in her cosplay for sick kids. She's still accepting donations for that as I hear she'll try a Morinth costume after the Samara one is done. Holly Conrad, the one responsible for the awesome animatronic Grunt costume at Comic-Con and PAX this year, is going to help her out with it as well.

I like your question Firestorm. I agree Noveria would be awesome, and would probably have the most different situations.
• Maeko Matsuo and Kaira Stirling would be much less confrontational when the group arrives.
• "Dull stone" Mallene Callis would quickly scamper away if she caught sight of Samara.
• The hanar merchant wouldn't ask Shep to smuggle in cargo.
• Administrator Anoleis would be MUCH less sassy. Or he'd regret it.
• Captain Ventralis wouldn't be able to hide behind a locked door.
• Alestia Iallis would probably not confront Shepard in the med lab.
• The Benezia fight would also be a LOT easier, especially if Samara AND Liara were present.
On Feros, the only real difference would be the scene with Shiala the end. Undoubtedly, Samara would not have allowed Shiala to live.
On Virmire, Saren would have his hands full dealing with Shepard AND Samara. He'd be much less confident during his monologues.
On Therum, that krogan battlemaster would probably address Samara rather than Shepard. For that matter, Liara would probably think that Samara was leading the expedition to rescue her rather than Shepard, and she probably would be a little more confident during the fight with the krogan and the geth.

Damn! I feel like an idiot now!
At any rate. Ranamary has my respect, for being the model that Bioware based on of my favorite ME characters face on, and her charity work to supporting sick kids.

Rana, have you played the first Mass Effect game? Also, was it disconcerting seeing your own face in a video game?
I adore Samara, the face, voice, writing, everything really came together to create something that is more than the sum of its parts. She's really a compelling character, my favorite in the game (but one could probably tell that from my avatar).

Hehe, no problem. It's a good thing you're doing.
So how did Bioware contact you? Did they just call you one day and said "Hey Rana, we want to put your face on a video game character who is a blue alien?" Or how was the process?

Yes!
.. ok no.. they put up a casting for it on "model mayhem" (a modeling website) I submitted and sent them some pictures and they picked me!

Rana, if you can get it, you should definitely play Mass Effect 1. You're missing out on the glory that is Wrex, as Pacifien says, but you're also missing out on the awesomeness that is Kaidan, and the nifty-noodleosity that is Liara. (Okay, I ran out of synonyms.)

<<-- gonna lose some points for this but no, I haven't played the first one! It's pretty surreal to see my face in the video game especially since it's not my voice.. and of course the fact that I'm blue!![]()
I think Samara is amazing too! (all parts combined) Thank you!!
