I'd guess maybe... hmmm... 100% of the population of this forum has recruited her.

It's your fault for seeing "kewl boobs" (What's wrong with writing it as "cool" by the way, it's less keyboard traverse and looks a lot less dumb), as a reason to post in a thread that is almost entirely about her personality.

im confused i thought her boobs were personality? Now whos wearing the azzhat backwards!!!

And your wrong. 100%? I'm sure 100% of the player haven't recruited all characters. If one ME2 player didn't bother to recruit Samara then you are wrong, which is very possible, if they worked alot etc, and rushed through the game.

Yeah, I only bother replying to them every once in a while. I don't want that punch to get stale. *cough* assuming control of this photobucket *cough*

*Does another playthrough where the only character remotely romanced is Samara*

Why is it that in both games it's the uberbiotic characters that get me the most? ME1? Liara ftw. ME2? Jack'n Samara ftw (alphabetic order, not preferencial)

I haven't really thought about that.  What is your guess?

Note: I am being facetious. And I doubt 100% of the population of players has recruited Samara.

Perhaps biotics have an effect on the personality, or an individual with biotic ability is exposed to varying situations that a normal person wouldn't? If you have biotics you will more than likely do something with them; whether it be use them for personal advancement and fun (Jack...maybe not the fun part) or good deeds and the defense of others (Samara). Someone with biotics will have some pretty interesting experiences that can shape them, thus leading to a rich and complex character. My thoughts anyways. I'm heading to bed. Be back tomorrow.
Edit: I know Jack's biotics were not used for the things I said above at first. She was experimented on so she came to use them in this manner. Her ability to use biotics, however, put her in a postion where Cerberus took notice and the rest is history. Much rambling aside, I guess what I'm getting at is that biotics can enrich a character's personality becuase of all the doors (good and bad) that it can open.

Hmm...
The personality required for that kind of proverbial firepower has be to focused but flexible, and it'd seem we like strong women ?

Yeah I like strong women. All of the other biotics though IMO are out of Samara's league and not necessarily strong women IMO.

Sorry about the vague question. Doesn't Samara mention in dialogue that she hopes she won't meet Shepard after the mission if his/her renegade points are too high? Or maybe my memory is off...well, 7Makaveli and lastpawn, you understood what I meant. Thanks for answering.

I have heard the dialog, but not experinced it personally through any playthroughs.  The dialog is there though.

Hmm..

Samara appears strong, even stern and refuses to admit she cares for Shepard.
Jack appears standoffish, even aggressively isolationistic and refuses to admit she cares for Shepard.

Yeah, I can't actually recall how I lumped Liara in with those 2.

Oh well. *continues reloading fanfiction list hoping for updates*

Argh. Why did Bioware put in so little dialogue for her? I would speak with her until physically incapable of saying another word. Samara can talk my ear off any day.

I guess this is why we have the wonderful and dangerous tool known as "fan-fiction".  I'm going to start writing some of my own, simulating how I think Samara might answer certain questions and address certain topics.

Speaking of writing, am I totally misremembering or did you say you had already written something and if so is it posted anywhere?

That was such a chilling moment. How they pulled off something like that in a game is beyond me. Its almost like they put her in as the ultimate physical and mental temptation. Obviously on the physical side, she's a thing of pure beauty. But mentally probably one of the strongest being you've come across and bouncing abstract questions off her are handled so casually by her. I wish the guy in the video picked the "Completely?" option in his conversation so I could see her give that half smile and acknowledge her flatterment.

As I remember doesn't her head whip around so quick she almost gave herself whiplash? :D

I believe I've seen something about her saying that for the sake of their friendship she hopes they won't meet.  i'd guess this dialog is for a mixed mostly para/some renegade Shepard.

I think for a renegade Shep there's another dialogue line?  Not sure at all.

Strange. In my game Samara explicitly tells Shepard she has feelings for him, but her devotion to the Code is stronger than any feelings - thus it will not be.

As to the age difference between a player and Shepard (who's around 30-31 by the time of ME2), I'd say I've known some very mature 30 years-olds (some who actually ended up dating/marrying older spouses)  and I've met more than my share of immature thirty-somethings whose antics would have felt quite in character for a college frat house... Me, I just play a mature 30-year old Shepard and it works all right so far...Posted Image

True.

I worded it poorly ay?

Ah well, we must but wait for ME3 or high-content DLC.

As I understand it, Morinth is pretty much a carbon copy of her mother with the exception of a different loyalty power, so I cannot really grasp why they would give the option in the first place. A clear cut move to distinguish the Paragons from the Renegades?

That might be it. As Samara would feel obligated to terminate a mostly renegade Shepard, perhaps Morinth will be the default character returning in ME3 for a imported renegade Shepard? I know some renegades choose Samara over Morinth, but Samara would have no personal reason to stick around a Shepard she might be eventually forced to fight...

Good morning everyone,

On the topic of Samara's and strong women, it's what attracted me to the character. Two women turn Shepard down in ME2: Samara and Ashley. Both do it out of personal convictions, against their own feelings. They both chose a carreer dedicated to duty: Samara's got the Justicar Code, Ashley's got her family's history of dedicated service to the Alliance. They're the only squadmates to stand up to Shepard an hold their ground (I like Kaidan for the same reasons, but I've sadly sacrificed him on almost all my playthroughs...).

It seems to me Shepard would have to be a pretty self-centered person to "dump" Ash after Horizon or "harass" Samara for a romantic involvement she's obviously unwilling to get into (at least in ME2's time period).Posted Image

The biotic really didn't have much importance to me, perhaps because I don't perceive it as a "morally polarized" power like the Force, for example. I'm actually more attracted to tech powers than biotic powers, hence my preference for the infiltrator class (yeah, I know... I've watched far too many James Bond movies...).Posted Image

I did say that I've written some of my own Samara and Shepard fanfiction, but it's not complete, and it's not refined.  When I've finished more, I'll probably put it up on fanfiction.net.

Has anyone found any of her non-conversational dialogue to particularly profound and/or funny?  I'm talking about certain environmental triggers that cause certain characters to say certain things.

On Illium, there's a trigger for Samara near the kiosks on the main floor that causes Samara to give her thoughts on the effects of materialism:

"The people here are asked to sacrifice their own convictions and beliefs in exchange for a soulless corporate identity."

She goes on to talk about how she can see how this might appeal to certain individuals, but not to her.

I've only done 1 complete playthrough and Samara was among the last to join the crew. I've since started another playthrough and I'm planning to recruit her sooner.

I'll be certain to pay as much attention as I can to her random comments. I DO remember that comment of hers in Nos Astra, about materialism. I just don't remember if it's a player-triggered (i.e. spacebar) or a random conversation.

Which also raises a fun question: have you found Samara to be chattier with certain squadmates and, if so, which ones? I always try to bring Grunt on Jack's recruitment mission because of his comments.

Yeah.  Jack talks about stealing and looting, and Samara says that she would not restrain herself in stopping Jack.  I think Jack responds that Samara can only try and stop her.

On Tuchanka, examining the Varren fighting-pit with Samara in my party:

"To pit living beings against each other for entertainment -- unforgivable.  If I survive your mission, I may return here and instruct the krogan on compassion.  I'll need many bullets."

The funny thing is that I had Grunt in my party when she said that, and he had nothing to say.

We now know that The Code has something to say about animal ethics, as an extension of its main philosophy.

That bit on Illium is one of my favorite pieces of party banter.
