Poor Sama-sama :(

Need more picture input! I will commission a picture if we can think of something good.

I agree with Kudara on how the "worlds best mom" mug picture would be really good. If done well.

Samara looks pleasantly smug in that second picture.

I'm going to sleep, for now.

AshiraShepard wrote...ALSO! No one answered my question before. Has anyone tried or thought about doing that hack/mod think with the ini-file (not sure, confusing hacking is confusing) where you replace Shepard's model with one of the Squad Members model? More to the point, with Samara? For the lulz and extra screenshots.

It can obviously be done, we've seen it, but I'm afraid I don't know how. Heh, Samara headbutting Uvenk, anyone?

The only one I could find:

I could try to do that too but I need instructions. Does anyone here know how to mod that?

That looks really good, ODM.  As I said before, though, it might spoil what the spectacle may look like, when the cosplay outfit is finished

I've done plenty of "Shepard as Samara" modding---the most fun is to go through the early Jacob scenes--plenty of great smirks and poses. :) (I'd post screen caps, but my hard drive died 2 weeks ago, and those pics were part of what's lost)---I could take new ones though.

And of course, it opens up a lot more Samara-Morinth conversations.  :)

PS--I've also done a few Texmods, notably Samara's outfit in purple.

Heh, that might make doing one playthrough as an Adept funny. I can get the needed AR training from the collector ship.

I don't suppose you would mind giving me a walkthrough or direct me towards a modding thread on how to get this done? :P

That looks really good, OneDrunkMonk! Only thing I'd' say is maybe make the head tentacles a bit bigger? I wonder if Bioware will ever come up with an actual name for that.

Anyway, I'm sure we'd all love to see that if you could and would be willing to take some screenshots again, David. :)

The modding threads are massive. Here's the current one: http://social.biowar...8/index/2338026
Be sure to read the first post, and download everything linked to in the first place--you can't do a thing without them.

Now, most modding is frankly about giving "everybody every weapon and ability"---not that much is about changing Shep's model etc--but that's my main interest in modding, so I've tracked just about every post about it. Lots of posts and even a forum are already gone, and I honestly don't know if the "original source" is online any more, nor where I got most of my info from--but I've saved many a notes manually in little txt files. Anyways---after you've read the post linked to above, and got the programs, you can start modding. Most important line for modifying coalesced.ini is this:

Bindings=( Name="NumPadOne" ,Command="OnlyLoadLevel BioD_Nor_000Cabin | OnTap 2.0 showmenu | OnTap 3.0 OpenGUI Personalization" )

That needs to be inserted into the coalesced.ini file in the [SFXGame.SFXGameModeDefault] section. In my file, it's around line 5400. Probably more like 5200 in an unmodded file.

That alone will open up the armor selection screen at any point. When you get that working (hit "1" on the numeric keypad in game, you'll know if it worked), I can show you how to get Samara etc.

PS--remember to always, always run the MEiniFixer program after making a change to the .ini file. And that program must be in the same folder that coalesced.ini is.

PPS---does anyone have any specific requests for screen shots?  I don't have a save for everywhere though.  First plan is "FemShep, as Samara, talking to Jacob, first main conversation on the Normandy".   I was also thinking maybe having Morinth(Shep) talk to Samara, or vice-versa--I can set both of those up.   Or even Liara talking to Morinth.  :)   Of course, really, nothing beats "talking to Jacob" for expressions and poses.

The eternal debate continues!  A new Morinth thread, that has, as is to be expected, turned in to a Morinth vs. Samara thread.

At least no one is claiming Samara to be a Psychopath yet. People really should learn more about a character before they say things like that.

Hey fellow Samarites, I'm having difficulties with some dialogue and thought I'd get your opinion on this bit of the next chapter.

In this my Shepard is talking about the fact that though she'd like to treat Grunt like he was a human marine and train him as such, but he's a krogan and needs to fit into krogan society. The following is Samara's counter to that.

“Yet that does not mean that he cannot learn something of honor and justice from you,” Samara pointed out calmly. “Krogan’s value strength and being victorious over their enemies, you have shown that you are able to do both while remaining true to your ideals. Does not young Urdnot Grunt deserve to learn how to do so as well and not only be accepted and respected by other krogan for being strong and victorious but also non-krogan for being more than just a well trained killer?”

I'm not quite happy with it because I'm not sure it's exactly phrased right for her (Samara).

The phrasing sounds like Samara well enough, I think. But the last sentence should be broken up, as it is a little long.

"Does not young Urdnot Grunt deserve to learn how to do so as well? To be accepted and respected by other krogan for being strong and victorious but also non-krogan for being more than just a well trained killer?”

You may want to go back to ME1 and listen to Wrex's comments on the krogan statue in the Presidium (you'll find them on YouTube). It offers insight into how Wrex envisions reconciling krogan nature with coexistence with other species. I think Samara is perceptive enough to recognize the value of Wrex's ideas.

Krogan nature suggests only one way they can "fit in" among other races and that is if they see an advantage to it in terms of evolution while retaining their identity. You have to play to their strenghts and point out how other races complete their skill sets, earning winnings for all. As long as they perceive other races merely as "competitors" to test their strenght against, only the genophage will keep them in line.

Krogans like to prove their strenght. They can do so by being the school bully, or by being the star offensive lineman or the unstoppable linebacker who blitzes the other team's quarterback. If Shepard's a good coach, he'll get Grunt to aknowledge his team needs more than star linebackers or offensive linemen to win a football game. But first, he'll need to make a football fan out of Grunt... and that will require lots of ryncol!

Ah that's probably what I need to listen to, thanks Flame. To write this section I need a good idea of where to take Grunt and that's actually what I was lacking. Well not an idea (I already had that) but a concrete idea instead of a nebulous one.

If I could find it that is, I'm having no luck so far.
