To bring a silly question to the table:

If you had to have Shepard show a human movie from 12/10 2010 or older to Samara, what movie would it be?

I can come up with a few movies for some of the squadmates, but not Samara. :pinched:

Since you're a Swede, and since I've said before that I think Samara would like the movie, I'll throw "The Seventh Seal" out there.

SWEDE?! :blink:

Also. The dark knight, yes I know people think it's overrated but I like it!

It would be the movie Shepard would show Garrus, but it could work for Samara also!

I think Shepard would show her one of these:
Kingdom of Heaven (2005) - Ridley Scott
Excalibur (1981) - John Boorman
The Last Samurai (2003) - Edward Zuick
Seven Samurai (1954) - Akira Kurosawa

I believe the last one would be Shepard and Samara's favorite, for obvious reasons...

I thought you said before that you're a Swede.

Anyway, I don't know if Samara would particularly enjoy "The Dark Knight".  A long time ago, we spoke in this thread about whether or not Samara would approve of Chaotic Good characters like Robin Hood.  We didn't think that she would approve of Robin Hood's actions.

Nope, don't think I have. Maybe I said scandinavian, but never swede.

Interesting viewpoint. Althrough, It was also more in line of what her viewpoint would be of the chaotic evil Joker was. Other than "criminal who must be brought to justice".

"EDIT"

Is the reason that Samara would disaprove of chaotic good is that they break the rules themselve, and anyone who break the rules should be punished?

Samara would go nuts in chasing after the Joker.  Killing people just to scare other people?  Delighting in chaos, because there are no rules to protect the innocent?  Treating people as playthings?  No, that would not fly with Samara.

We didn't think that Samara would like Chaotic Good characters like Robin Hood because his means to an end is breaking laws.  She might say that it's not Robin Hood's place to do that.  She probably wouldn't blame the people for letting themselves get in to a position where they are at the mercy of a wholly corrupt government.  She likely would blame the politicians themselves, and whoever it is whose job it is to protect the innocent.

Now that I think of it, would Samara be fond of William Marshall?

Samara is the most “tragic persona" in the game. The conflict between duty and family bonds… Beautiful music (Jack Wall) helps to "understand" her character. There is an interesting fan-story of Samara. The combination of music and screenshots from the game (and some materials from the internet):

I could imagine her having trouble taking him down, she already had to let Nihlus escape when he used the code against her by taking a hostage. The Joker did the same things just waay more extreme in the movie.

Whew. Always thought it was stupid to do x VS y when they are from diffrent fictonal works. Jokes on me I guess?

It would depend upon how, exactly, the two settings are overlapping, but if the Joker knew about the Justicars, and the Code, he, being the cunning criminal he is, would quickly figure out how easily manipulated Samara is.

Samara looks at Shepard, her eyes aglow with curiosity.

Samara:  "Commander, I understand that humans have profound issues with letting go of their dead, but is this a common practice for your species?"

The opportune time for a renegade Shepard to then suggest a remake in the vein of "Weekend at Morinth's" and then promptly being killed.

The Last Samurai was decent enough. Havent seen the other two.

Given Samara's comments about the closest human equivalent to asari Justicars woulb be something between a knight errant and a samurai, these four movies immediately came to mind.

From Kingdom of Heaven:
Be without fear in the face of your enemies;
Be brave and upright, that God may love thee;
Speak the truth always, even if it leads to your death;
Safeguard the helpless and do no wrong:
That is your oath.

Excalibur:
An ailing king is forced to kill his murderous son in order to protect his people.

The Last Samurai:
A feudal lord rebels against his Emperor out of duty to him and to remind him that tradition should not be sacrificed wholesale to progress and that even if the modern world is all shades of grey, one must not forget what black and white look like.

Seven Samurai:
A samurai recruits 6 others for a mission: protect human col... er... a village from the Collec... er.. the local bandits...Posted Image

That leaves the least-popular (according to polls here, at least) characters in ME2, and two DLC-only characters.  That worries me slightly.

Sure, the Joker may be able to manipulate Samara easily, but we must remember that Samara is not inhibited by the moral inclination to not kill anyone, whereas Batman is. Samara would kill Joker the first chance she got, whereas in Gotham the Joker can roam free and initiate chaos whenever he pleases. That's why I think the Joker, while certainly one of the most menacing villains ever created, is in arbitrary symbiosis with Batman.

This is what happens when an unstoppable force, meets an immovable object :devil:

Any takers for whether Morinth is Samara's Joker? A tempting but weak analogy imo.

Mmmm...
Villain: (Evil Laugh) "Ha, ha! I've got you now, Justicar! Prepare to be Monologued!"
Samara: (Reave) *__* (Battle rifle burst to the brain) "Find Peace in the Embrace of the Goddess, clown..."
The End

Series 1 - Shepard, Grunt, Tali, Thane
Series 2 - Garrus, Legion, Miranda, Mordin
Series 3 - Jack, Jacob, Samara, ... ?

The trends seems to be 4 figures per series, you have to wonder whether they'll make a Morinth figure as well as ones for the DLC squaddies. Be a while until we see a Samara figure anyway, Series 2 - according to one site - won't be released until about April.

The lack of a Samara figure is puzzling, production-wise. Toy companies usually LOVE to be able to simply repaint a figure and sell it as another character---that often leads to less-popular characters being made over more popular ones, if they can sell 2 or 3 different versions for cheap.

I'm worried about what Samara's action figure will look like.  She has very distinctive facial features, and getting the smallest thing wrong makes her look off, or like someone else entirely.

My bet is that her facial figure will have the same errors that most fan art does.

It'll lack her strong jaw and defined cheekbones?
