Why does Samara always do the quick biotic glow thingy? She even does it in the almost-romance scene!

Is it to impress Kasumi because samara knows she's hiding in the corner recording with her omni-tool?

It's very dramatic, it demonstrates her biotic abilities, it demonstrates her power, it generates "presence", and it grabs attention.

As for using it in the almost-romance scene, it's used as a field to keep their lips from touching, and to get Shepard's attention.

I'm doing a late Halloween one-shot, and I've got down what the rest of the squad will be dressed up as.

Putting aside the weirdness of this image, the deadly dirty dozen dressed up in costumes; this is supposed to be amusing...

What costume do you think Samara would have?

Shepard is a vampire if that helps.

Samara as a knight, except she misinterprets the practice, and wears actual plate armor, instead of the more-appropriate cheap plastic imitations.

Either Samara isn't wearing a helmet, or the helmet has its back cut out so that her head-crests can fit :3

"Don’t be surprised to find your human friends in a costume today as large portions of Earth and its colonies celebrate the holiday of Halloween. Originally a “day of the dead” in which masks were worn to scare off evil spirits, Halloween evolved into a secular holiday with popular activities such as carving fruits, wearing costumes, and the  curious custom of children going house-to-house, begging for food. It’s the biggest night of the year for the candy industry — 25% of their annual sales are typically purchased for the purpose of being distributed on Halloween. This year’s hottest-selling costumes include “Zombie Huerta,” “Lili T’Nigus,” and “Geth Hunter.”"

Cerberus Daily News entry for 10/31/2010.

I think it would be great if Samara read about this human practice on the Cerberus Daily News and came to question Shepard about it.

I just imagined Samara in the Black Knight's armor.

Shepard: Yeild, good sir knight! You're arm's off!

Samara: No it isn't.

Shepard: Well what do you call that then?

Samara: Just a flesh wound. HAVACHE!

Shepard: *chop*....*chop, chop* You have no more limbs.

Samara: Right, we'll call it a draw then. Hey wait, where are you going?! Oh, runnin away are you?! You coward! Come back here, I'll bite you're legs off!

lol, that seems soooo wrong with Samara in the Black Knight's place.

You know they have the Black Knight in WoW. Three phases to the fight, where he progressively sheds more layers of his body until he's nothing but a ghost trying to rip your head off.

"My rotting flesh was just getting in the way!"

"I've no need for bones to best you!"

And then he dies for good XP

Samara vs. Halloween (A Short Story)

*Shepard and Grunt enter Starboard Observation*

Shepard & Grunt: Trick or Treat!:wizard:

Samara: *mildly startled* Oh...hello there :?

Shepard: Hey, I'm taking Grunt along "trick or treat'n" ^_^

Samara: Yes, I figured, I'm just disappointed in your...costumes...or lack thereof <_<

Grunt: Shepard was making me wear his Collector armor, but I threw it out an airduct *shrugs*

Samara: So then...trick it is

Grunt: Say what?

Shepard: Go along, Grunt, show her a trick

Grunt: You never told me I had to do a trick, Shepard!

Shepard: Don't you know any tricks? Samara, why don't you show him that thing you do? ^_^

Samara: Sure, why not.

Shepard: So cool! :o

Grunt: I neither have the patience nor the boredom to learn that. Come on just give me something so I can go!

Samara: But I'm just a lonesome warrior with weapons and armor, what could I possibly give you?

Shepard: She's right :crying:

Grunt: Oh alright, I'll be off

Shepard: Night Samara!

Samara: Sleep well....  *takes out hidden stash of Asari truffles*

Fin.

Ashira! Is the Halloween one-shot coming?

It's going to be a late one-shot...since... I don't know what to make happen! I know what the crew will be dressed as, that's about it. This is what I've done->

Halloween, the popular Human holiday designed to delight and scare. The crew of the
Normandy was currently in the spirit of the day, having docked at the citadel
they picked up various bits and pieces for costumes and decoration. It had
taken a bit of convincing, but Kelly managed to whittle through to even the
most stubborn of the crew.

Ashira walked
out of the medlab, adjusting her svelte coat a little self-consciously. Chakwas
had helped her with the contacts she was now wearing and the fangs settled in
her mouth, thanks to the good doctor there wasn’t a hint of discomfort. The
contacts made her grey eyes look bright silver and almost like they were
glowing; they would in the dark. A slight use of makeup enhanced the look and
her hair wasn’t as neat but left for a wilder appearance. I can’t believe I’m doing this; but I might as well play my part. Might
even be fun.

She looked
like she just walked out of the 18th Century; though in male
clothing. There was no way she would be caught dead in a dress these days let
alone those death traps of frills, silk and lace. The only time she had ever
worn a dress in her life was for that one mission for Kasumi and that was only
because it was necessary.

“You should wear this stuff more
often, you look great.”

“Yeah? Well I feel like a weakling.”

“Why?”

“This image steps away from how I
picture myself.”

“You mean threatening? Trust me; you
could still stop people dead with that stare, Shep.”

Either way,
she had been grateful to get out of that thing and back into the strong plating
of her kestrel armour.

“Shepard! You
look haunting!” Kelly’s excited voice jarred the Commander out of her thoughts.

“Er, thanks
Kelly,” Ashira shifted her shoulders, making her coat settle a little more
comfortably around her frame. She looked up, seeing Kelly bound over to her
looking like a pixie on speed. Glitter, lace, wings and a silvery tiara for
some reason; maybe it was a pixie princess. Ashira didn’t really want to think
about how Kelly’s mind worked.

The redhead
smiled broadly, “Garrus looks like a Turian Batman!”

“Well, that
was the idea,” came said Turian’s voice, walking from the direction of the crew
quarters; he was adjusting the material clinging to his neck. A black mask
especially shaped for a Turian face covered all but his lower jaw and eyes. A
black cape hung from his shoulders, the suit covering his body a mix of black
and dark greys and he really did look like the Turian equivalent of Batman. A vigilante; how fitting.

Ashira
couldn’t help the smile that curled her lips, “glad to see you could join in.”

“Worried?”

“Well, it’s
nice to see you being less business-like.”

Garrus gave a
smile, mandibles flared, “it seemed like fun.”

“I was hoping
for some actual piracy, Shepard, but this’ll have to do,” Jack’s voice called from
the other side of the mess hall. They all looked and saw the convict dressed up
like an 18th century pirate, there was even a real cutlass hanging
on her hip.

Kelly clapped
her hands excitedly, “evening, Cap’n Jack!”

She might.  She seems interested in human culture.  She'd probably just observe from a distance, but it'd be cool that she'd show up, at least.
