Yeah I definitely agree, I hope that ME3 picks up relatviely soon after ME2, I really don't want them to pull another plot device of not being in the story for years at a time just so they can make it about you getting your friends back. But I don't think they'd do something like that, I mean that would be really amateurish, and that's one thing Bioware isn't.

And yeah inviting Samara up to your room in ME3 should include her meditating like she does in her observation room as a default anim, and then changes to whatever, (hugging, talking, "resting") when you interact with her.

It'd be interesting if they gave every LI a different "default" animation, even if it was just the standard animation they have when they're in their original area. It would make it feel more organic I believe.

Nice picture by the way! Very "cute", I just wish I saw it before xmas :D

Yeah I think that in a group her features come across much better because there is something to compare her to, and artists maybe over accentuate her features when she's on her own in a pic because they feel maybe they need to make her features more noticeable. I dunno, just a thought.

Honestly I think it would be much better to get rid of the cuddle scenes. They basically just make some of the strongest, most violent, most deadly people in the galaxy seem like high school teenagers. It makes them seem immature, at least the sitting one does.

Besides, what people of action would lie in bed fully clothed and just cuddle?

If they did something similar I'd prefer to see something where the wine glasses are actually being used. I would prefer to see them sitting together drinking wine and chatting than see one of the two on the other's lap.

I always found those "invite up" scenes really creepy and disturbing. I mean, what was the point?

Yeah I can sort of see what you mean. The "rest on bed" scene wasn't too bad, I mean I've done that plenty of times, even if it was just to watch some tv with your special someone. It's not like bed = sexy time.

But I agree with you with the sitting/talking scene, I don't know if it was because Male Shep looks like hes staring at the same dot on the LI's face or what, but it seems just a little...off.

But all in all, you gotta think that like lots of other things, the Devs tried something new, to increase immersion and game atmosphere. Since you could finish the final mission and keep adventuring around the galaxy, it makes sense that they would include those little animations to let the player feel like their relationship with their LI continues even though there isn't any more unique dialogue or love scenes.

(Realistically of course there can't be enough dev resources to make "continuation" dialogue and love scenes for every LI, so the animations in the captain's cabing had to do)

Although it would be nice if they were able to work in some more dialogue or another scene at then end of doing a completionist run, I don't think they will. That's why we gotta hope for more/better animations, it's a more realistic expectation and accomplishes more or less (probably less but whatever) the effect of continuing the in game relationship.

Inspiration strikes! :D

Upon Further Review

Shepard: Oh hey Samara, I got those reports on pending Code Revisions for you! The Order wants you to weigh in.

Samara: How in Goddesses name did you get those? Those are devastatingly private.

Shepard: Let's just say I know a certain someone who is the most powerful information broker in all the galaxy :o I can't tell you who it is though...

Samara: Though I may have suffered a concussion then, I do remember Liara taking the position of Shadow Broker

Shepard: Ah dammit, I thought that table got you good. Anywho, there are some interesting changes about to take place...I'll tell you what they're thinking of changing!

Samara: Very well

Shepard: *pretends to read off data pad* It says here they are thinking of altering the capacity of Justicars to engage in romances to be more lenient.

Samara: Is that so?

Shepard: mmhm

Samara: Really? Sutra 1589, are you sure?

Shepard: mmhm  so will you approve of these revisions? *prepares for catharsis*

Samara: Perhaps, tell me, are they considering modifying Sutra 4249?

Shepard: Umm...uhh...no I don't think so...

Samara: Pity, looks like Justicars are not allowed to "weigh" in on Code revisions then.

Shepard: Dammit!

Fin.

This was very funny lol =]

I don't know why but it was oddly comforting to the fact that you can't romance Samara lol

If they don't do something like this I swear Im gonna b***h slap Liara upside the head and remind her who REALLY beat the shadow broker...

*taps foot impatiently*

In all seriousness though, Samara says something about having to leave you after her mission with you is complete. But I always saw that as clever writing.

Because she says she'll have to keep searching for injustice to right in the galaxy, well...I dunno what more kind of injustice than galactic wide spread multi-species genocide there is....

So if they try and write it like she has to go "find evil" or whatever Im gonna literally keel over and die.<_<

hellooo?? REAPERSSS???? ...    = EVIL????...... = INJUSTICE?????

Yeah. Dams striaght. *mumbles* You better get back in that observation room captain's cabin.....

Edit: lol had to fix that last part:whistle:

Well I have a lot of similarly themed quickfics, and even some serious ones. (psst click on my sig). I get a kick out of pairing these two and seeing Shepard trying to get with Samara, or just looking like a goofball around her. Because of their "history", it makes for an amusing situation to see Shepard come up with schemes to trick Samara into a romance, or on the other hand, try to one-up her because she seems so above the situation most of the time, and of course there is *___*. A little while ago folks said Samara and comedy do not mesh, and I intend to prove them wrong by putting her in the straight comedic foil role. And I think some folks seem to enjoy them ...

Many here have been through the "conversation wheel" with regards to a potential Samara romance. We are simply awaiting what happens now, and no doubt have wishful thinking for it. But overall I think most people here would be happy with Samara having a substantial role in ME3, even if it is a dreamy cameo.

I just discovered today that after Samara departs from the observation room after pressing the romance issue that she goes to the Crew Quarters to stare at the drive core and if you speak to her, she just responds with a "Please." I never really "chased" after her once she left the room in a playthrough before. Funny the things you can happen upon with playing the game more!

They better bring back Samara. I didn't really like her at first in the red outfit, but in the black and white, just made her ten times better. She is my favorite squad mate in mass effect 2, aside from Liara, but she doesn't count since she wasn't full time

Hey loverly people in Samara thread. I was wondering if any of you had a link for a video of Samara telling Renegade Shepard she'd come after her/him when the mission was over? I've played renegade lots times but I never got up to that point in the conversation with Samara, and, as I'm totally weird and like seeing all the different situations, I'd be grateful if anyone knows anyone whose uploaded it.
Ty.

Few on this thread have ever played a renegade-enough Shep to see this conversation, let alone post it on the tube... Have you checked the OP on page 1? There are several links there.

I'm sure this has been talked about at some point in this thread, but what could renegade Shep have possibly done that violated the Code, because to me it seems that most of the issues that Shep has to deal with would be too complex for the Code.

There is no "Too complex". All situations are reacted to based on the Code. It is a black and white solution to a grey world. That's why Samara tells you about how she isn't curious about the collectors and the analogy of a devoted father.

Also, you don't have to be renegade to be threatened by Samara. I was a paragade with mostly paragon but she told me she would have to kill me.

She basically said: "You have been a good friend to me shepard, but after this is over I will be compelled to kill you."

Strange that there is a shade of grey to her responses.

Wait WHAT?????

That doesn't make any sense! How does she threaten to kill you if your mostly paragon??? :( Are you sure it wasn't just a glitch? Maybe there is some kind of event flag like killing shiala or killing that stupid scientist that makes her hate you.... i dunno....

All I can say is.....wtf.

Well it was more like I was half and half but more than 50% for both. I used the save game editor on PC to give me more points but the lines are there.

So out if curiosity Guardian Angel, what do think the Code would have to say on the subject of rewriting the geth or not, or whether or not to destroy a potential cure for the genophage, seems to me these issues don't have nice black and white choices.

Personally I say the code would compel a justicar to kill all the GEth Heretics. Which I did. Because they all acted as one to attack the Galaxy and they all acted as one to kill innocents, it would follow that Samara would be compelled to kill all of the Heretics.

However, there may be a loophole what with the Geth being so different and so saving them may not be outside of what the Code allows.

As for the Genophage, from what I know of the Code it probably falls outside of its jurisdictions. I would however believe that Samara the person would want to save the cure but because it was a military reaction to military targets it kinda become an abortion-style argument.

At what point does the Code consider a being alive and deserving of protection? If it is as a fetus, then they are against the Genophage. If it is after birth, then the Code has nothing to say.

Since I'm sure abortion still exists in the future, I can't imagine it being the former.

I would be more interested to know what the Code says about military actions. For instance, what would it say about attacking military targets that are nevertheless innocent? An unprovoked attack that furthers an overarching objective.

I'm writing a fan fiction where my Shepard does that and I can't really decide where Samara would stand on the action.

EDIT: Fixed post to sound less EVIL
