To explain further, if a type of operation came out that prevented AY from mind melding at all and thus making them safe for the public, would you all support that?
Personally, I feel like the ability to mate is a small price to pay for basic freedoms. Better to be able to have relationships with people and not be able to have sex with them than to never have that chance.

1) live a legit life working in monitored work programs (essentially institutionalized but outside, presumably benefiting from counselling) or,
2) live semi-legally on the fringes of asari society, commonly cultivating serial abusive relationships (free but miserable).

I'm writing a fanfic right now that takes place about 20 years after ME3, it's just a short story of the crew reminescing at a get together. One of the elements I plan to use is that Samara's daughters were finally freed of their condition using technologies that were derived, of all things, from Reaper indoctrination tech.
Indoctrination, however it works, is clearly something that affects psychological and neurological processes. By understanding that tech, it's very possible that a treatment could be derived that would neutralize the narcotic effect an A-Y gets from killing during sex. In my fanfic, the treatment does not reverse an AY's natural sterility, but it does allow them live normal lives and have normal romantic relationships. It makes a nice plot point for Shepard in my fanfic, because it shows him something good that came from all that war and death, and it's a burden off Samara's shoulders...Samara feels that, at last, it's OK for her to show her feelings and deal with them.
The scientists logs on the Reaper IFF mission mentions something about Reaper tech being based on nanotechnology. An understanding of Reaper nanotech could bring incredible advances that have nothing to do with indoctrination or warfare.

Bad news for us Samara fans, for ME3. We know that Samara's not a squadmate, at least.

Someone took a picture of a page of the GameInformer article. I can't post a picture of the scan here, because that's a big no-no. I wonder if PMing you a link would be a big no-no, as well.

I know about the upcoming/already leaked Gameinformer article, so I guess I'll just be patient and wait for Google to track the info. Might even actually go out and buy that one...

I think the Gameinformer article only confirms certain squadmates while mentioning the possibility of some others. The lack of Samara's name in either list I don't think confirms she then not a squadmate, however. Just that Gameinformer didn't see her.
It gives a list of characters that Bioware says will be returning as squadmates, for ME3, and a list of characters that the GameInformer team saw (cameos, I'm guessing), in the build of ME3 that they played.

I'm just saying I don't think either list is particularly all inclusive. Doesn't seem BioWare's style to announce all possible squadmates up front like that.yorkj86 wrote...

That's the key. Assuming that Game Informer is a legitimate source, and that Bioware actually told them this.yorkj86 wrote...

The whole article is information GameInformer got from Bioware, in one form, or another. GameInformer isn't a rag. This is exclusive information. Or, they'd be printing false information, which Bioware could jump on them for.

Yeah, I figured as much, was just adding the disclaimer. It'll be interesting to read the whole article word for word. Then we'll know for sure in what context everything was said, and what exactly Bioware revealed to them, and what is still unknown.yorkj86 wrote...

I'm in Jordan right now, not sure if I can get GameInformer here D:
I'm gonna go see if this issue of GameInformer is available, so that I'm not relying entirely on hearsay.

We don't know that for a fact, yet. This is only preliminary info.

I just leached some leaked gameplay video of ME3. It looks like Samara will only be making a cameo appearance in ME3, but if you tried to romance her ME2, then you get a romantic cutscene.
Here's a screenshot of the cutscene:
Haha man, that's great.
Seriously, that smile was terrible.
