Isn't Samara's arguement at the base for destroying it "You have not defeated your enemy if you adopted hs methods."?

Yeah, that's it. And then TIM says something about her not understanding because she's an alien.

But how does it trigger? Cuz I haven't been getting it of late. Both keeping the base and destroying it.

[EDIT] Ah, I think I may have had Garrus with me the few times it triggered, maybe that's the key.

/pointless rant removed that really had nothing to do with Samara.

This is sort of related to the surname discussion, but is there any official word on how Asari names work, like with Quarians? Presumably it has to do with ancestry.

As to Samara's role in ME3, I'd also be OK with her being a temporary squaddie. The conflict between Shepard's way(s) of doing things and the code is just too interesting for ME3 not to explore.

Typically, the first name ends with a soft "A" sound.  The "T" in "T'Soni" could be "child of," but we don't know, as we don't know if Matriarch Aethyta is her mother (though she probably is), nor do we know Aethyta's last name.  We don't even know who Liara's father is.

Holy crud, you're right. In fact, I'm having a very hard time coming up with any Asari with a name name that doesn't end with an A. The only ones I can think of are Morinth (and her name was revealed to be Mirala anyway), Mallene Callis and Liselle.

Very nice. I could go for a whole series of "throw him off a bridge" motivationals.

I like Samara's posture on that new team lithograph. She looks serious and elegant.

I got an order in for my own copy of the lithograph. This is the only bit of Samara-related merchandise :(

I can't wait to order Samara to do a Paragon Stare from my kinect :D

If there is no Paragon Stare in ME3, I will not be purchasing a Kinect.

Samaritans, find peace *___*

....

In all seriousness, seeing Mordin in that context of the game preview for ME3 pretty much confirms to me that the "fringe squad characters" (Mordin, Samara, Thane, Wrex, Jack etc.) are likely to be mission critical cameos, with a chance to have "catch up" conversations after the mission. And I'm looking forward to that.

Found a bunch of pictures of the behind-closed-doors ME3 demo. Samara is yet-to-be-seen.

I expected not to see Samara in E3. If they ever show Thessia in a trailer or something I think we can get a good chance of seeing Samara.

With the prominence of Liara in this outing and the likelihood of at least MEETING Samara again, I hope the two have some cool dialogue with one another.

I was browsing Gizmodo, when I saw this article.  Is that who I think it is, in the article's photo, at the top...?  I know, it's barely relevant, but it's slightly relevant.

I doubt Samara will be a squadmate in ME3:( Liara's outfit in the bonus appearance pack strikingly resembles Samara's outfit, she even has the forehead decals.

We were pretty certain about that from the start.  We just want to know what role she will play in ME3.  Though, how do you know?  Some bit of news that was released while I was asleep?

According to Ms. Norman, from her Twitter:

"Christina Norman
Tip for fans: embrace change, previous games don't go away but new games bring new possibilities."

In what way(s) could Samara change?

Personally, I hate this mentality.  "If you don't openly accept every change with open arms, you're a grumpy old geezer."  It doesn't follow.

Mordin seemed unchanged. So I am beginning to doubt that Samara will have any changes. Only one question remain though.

Should she be in her strawberry or black and gold outfit? I liked both personally.

I also hope that her attitude towards Shepard will change depending on his P/R status. And if we are lucky, a small aknowlegdement of the attempted romance?

You also only saw Mordin for a minute or two, in the demo, and he was being fired at by Cerberus soldiers.  That's not really the best time to explain him reversing his stance on the genophage, or the krogans, and so on.

There are rules of the internet, such that any discussion of the movie "Kung Pow: Enter the First" will inevitably result in the participants quoting lines from the movie at each other.  I think that another rule should be that any discussion that involves Samara and Morinth, will inevitable result in the participants arguing about the merits and details of choosing Samara over Morinth, and vice-versa.  It sure seems to be the case here.

Just saying:

We're going to the asari homeworld and Illium... And Samara made a big deal about coming back to help my Shephard.

I can't wait to see how she's going to help out. If push came to shove, I'd prefer to have Matriarch Athyta at my side, though.
:D
