I am of the opinion that even a renegade should pick Samara.  Think about it,would you want a serial killer on your ship with all of your squadmates and crewmembers ripe for the picking?
Garrus:  Hey Shep I here we picked up another biotic, that is interesting.
Shep:  Yeah, it's interesting alright.
Garrus:  Well where is she gonna bunk at?  We are nearly out of room?
Shep:  I think we keep her in the brig Garrus.

Even before any of that would occur, what, exactly, did Morinth think she would accomplish by killing Shepard?    Where would she hide the body?    Behind the bookcases in the Observation Deck?    Send it out the trash-compactor, along with Zaeed?  If someone found that she had killed Shepard, how exactly did she plan on escaping the Normandy?   Eventually, someone's going to wonder where the Captain is.

still though, renegade Shep makes some brash decisions. He does things on the fly. Maybe if he's tired of Samara's lectures on justice and enjoyed briefly fooling around with Morinth, he decides to off the Justicar. It wouldn't be totally out of character. At the least they should have had the decision on the left side as charm/intimidate options. Not that I'm disappointed in what they did, but I don't really like that you can simply choose out of context who to kill.

I dislike being given the option to choose between Samara and Morinth. I always choose Samara, but I don't think the choice was a good idea.

Why not?

Morinth's character wasn't as fleshed out, but I thought it was a cool twist.

It seemed random. I'm not against Morinth the character (I felt some pity for her) just the choice.

That choice is probably my fave choice in all of ME. It was completely unexpected and I just kept thinking "they're not ACTUALLY going to let you pick Morinth, are they? Somehow it'll be scripted so that you can't REALLY kill off a party member in favor of a serial killer..."

Exactly what I thought, even if it was a bit unrealistic.

That is a good point.  I just think that it is good sense not to have a serial killer hanging around. :D I wasn't thinking of Shep in paricular, but the rest of the crew.

Shepard:  I'm hungry, when the heck is dinner gonna be ready?
Crewman:  Well there is a problem sir.  Chef has disappeared and there was a note in his quarters stating that he couldn't go on and blew himself out of the airlock.

Yeah, I guess it boils down to the player and just how brash they want their Shep to be.  I don't think that I would do it with any of my renegades.

I thought that if you romance no one, and go through the Omega-4 Relay, Miranda comes to wish you good luck at the star map before the mission starts.

She does, but if you romanced no one, then their is no cutscene with Shep in his/her quarters AFAIK.

I would like to see her in something metallic or silvery. I know it's campy, but when I first saw her, I felt like she left the impression on me of some kind of superhero. A deeply principled, elegant superhero, but a superhero nonetheless.

What about a combination of purple and silver? It's great to see some new faces in the thread--hello everyone.

Great minds think alike, I'd love to see her in silver with black panels and then royal purple accents.  I'm just not sure how purple would go with her skin tone, I'd have to see it to tell.  That's one of the reasons I like the black with gold, because the gold tone they used goes very well with her blue hue.

Maybe silver/black/ keep the same gold tone?

Yea that's why I boggle at those choosing Morinth, I mean Samara makes it quite clear her daughter is addicted to killing.  Sooner or later when she can't seduce Shep she's going to start eyeing the rest of the crew.

Same here, except in a real life situation such as this no one in their right mind would pick Mornith

I understand a player wanting to do it for the experimentation and to learn more about the character or just doing it for heck of it.  Even as a renegade I have not been able to do it yet though.  I did do it once to get the dominate power, then I reloaded the game and picked Samara.

Looking at it from a non meta-gaming perpective, I just can't rationalize it.

I liked what Bioware did with Samara. I think in ME3 she will be available as an LI because I remember reading an interview with someone from Bioware that said something like: previously unavailable LI will be available depending on how you treated them in the previous game. And Samara is at the age when her time left matches Shepard's. I didn't like having to choose between Samara and Morinth though. I would love to have the dominate power but it's not worth killing Samara.

I don't know about Xbox, but if your on pc you can save the game during the loyalty quest before you get to the apartment, then you can kill Samara, then reload the game and play it again and kill Morinth.  That will give you the dominate power and still have Samara on your squad.

Blood...Muhahahahah!

She needs darker streaks running down her face. Make her a bit scarier. Cool though.

Thanks, Johnnny. That gives me hope. I'm planning on making the soldier Sheploo I have in ME1 do the Samara romance in ME2. I mostly play custom femSheps because I'm female and like romancing Garrus, but every now and then I like to have a Sheploo runthrough just for the eye candy.

Is this in regards to a possible future appearance pack DLC with Samara included?

I can't kill Samara during her loyalty mission. I just can't. I'd have to click on the "Kill Samara" option and then quickly turn off my speakers and monitor until the whole ordeal is over.
