Shouldn't we also contact the original OP to make sure s/he agrees?

I agree. It would be the polite thing to attempt to do considering they did recently make an appearance within the thread. Also, as far as naming conventions go. I think it would be a good idea to avoid titles that draw on other sources.

Reloaded: Matrix refference, falls outside the bounds of the ME universe. If I might suggest? Try to keep it with in the confines of  the gamesetting. Everyone is not a fan of the Matrix series. Something exclusive to Samara would be more appropriate. Examples: Comforts of the Void: a Samara support thread  , or The Godess's Embrace: a Samara support thread , or By The Code: a Samara support thread Just try to think of things that pertain to the character.

I agree, something themed would be my first choice as well.

Ummm, will I get burned at the stake if I said that I didn't really like Liara, heh?

Everyone has their own taste.
York on the other hand, may supply the lighter fluid just in case though. *cough* *cough* :P

Same here. Volly's suggestions are great, we can pick any of his or a similar one,

Path of the Justicar: a Samara support thread

and if we feel like adding a numbering system, I'd suggest adding " Sutra 2", 3, 4, etc...)

Borrowing a scene from Corto Maltese Les Ethiopiques (by Hugo Pratt):

+Shepard kneeling next to a mortally wounded Samara+
{Samara} "No tears, Shepard. I have lived by the Code and will die happy."
{Shepard, holding her hand} "Remember Sutra 5001, "Of the Shepard": Blessed is Samara, who now embraces the Godess, where she will find wine, lovers... and never have to endlessly follow rules."
{Samara, smiling weakly} "Infidel dog... such a lovely sutra does not exist..."

I'm all for a new, revamped thread. I don't post often in fan threads but I try. I've heard though that even if the OP wanted to delete this thread, they wouldn't be able to. I think a moderator has to close it.

It just occured to me that the numbering system could be included in the title this way, as if quoting from the Code:
Sutra 2 - Comforts of the Void: a Samara support thread
Sutra 3 - The Godess' Embrace: a Samara support thread

Has the advantage of numbering AND originality in title.

Medigel's ability to fix pretty much everything sure does detract from the ability to have meaningful, dramatic at-death scenes.  What's worse, Bioware doesn't even cover why getting shot up by an YMIR Mech is a salvageable situation, while getting shot up by a couple of Collectors isn't.  :?

Anyway, I always kind of liked the way this thread worked.  I felt like I had to work to find things, just like I have to work to earn Samara's respect.

If we make a new one, will we lose all the pages we've gone through?

No. Eventually, a thread gets closed by a moderator because it gets too long or at the request of the OP. But you can always visit a closed thread, you just cannot post anything new on it.

The reason someone suggested creating a new thread was to gather all the links that are scattered all over the various past Samara threads and post them in the OP of the new thread, to help new fans catch up more quickly on what's been done in the past.

But there's no rush... and Nadia (the OP of this thread) may eventually edit her OP to make it so, without the need for a new thread.

Don't know if anyone here is familar with Oingo Boingo, or not? Anyway, I was listening to some old albums today, and my blood about froze as "Skin" started playing. That song really reminds me of the Samara experience. If no one else knows them it won't be the first time I dated myself so no big deal...Posted Image
Just a small snipet from the song.

'Now a spark has passed between us now
A momentary recognition
Something lost and something gained
And something shared that feels strange
Something cold that will not go away'

Oh well, have fun all I need a nap.Posted Image

I haven't. I don't think I'm knowlegeable enough in these bill boards to be a good "thread manager"...  I figure someone younger with computer skills not dating back to the original 64k IBM PC would do much better. Posted Image

This thread is working fine, but if someone doesn't mind doing the hard work of "data-mining" the older threads for a compilation, that person should be the one contacting Nadia73.

Okay I've got an idea. How about we setup a dummy account just to manage the thread, give the info to several willing volunteers. That way there will always be some one capable on hand. I've already got a couple ideas on how to organize the OP thread.

Well I started out with Commodore 64, but that hasn't slowed me down though.:D

With that said, I am not sure if I feel like digging through old threads for data.

Perhaps one of the younger ones here would like to handle that?:innocent:

BTW personally I don't like the word 'support' in a new thread title because it reminds me to much of the other support threads.:P

I like the thread the way it is, we've had some great discussion here. However, I do see the benefits of starting another one as it would probably allow other posters to participate due to the fresh start.
