Samara from the Wiki:  http://masseffect.wi...com/wiki/Samara
Trivia from the wiki:

  • In Hebrew and Arabic, samara translates as 'guardian' or

'protected by god', making it an appropriate name for a justicar.

  • Samara's armor and jewelry were created with feminine lines
    and
ornate detailing meant to capture her archetypal description of
    "mystic
    warrior".
  • Through conversations, Shepard has the option to
    show a
romantic interest in Samara. She dismisses the advance, but
    notes that
she appreciates the interest nonetheless. This rejection
    is not due to
the Code, which does not forbid such things, but by
    her own choice.
  • Interestingly, the holo-projector on level
    28 of Zakera
Ward that mentions a potential love interest by name if
    they are
present is capable of saying "Justicar Samara", despite
    her not actually
    being a full-fledged romance option.

  • If Shepard is mostly Renegade,
Samara comments that if she wasn't
bound to Shepard by the oath,
their meeting would have ended in
    violence. Otherwise she simply
says that if Shepard makes her do
    something that goes against her
Code, she will kill the Commander after
    their mission is over.

Well sorry for sleeping in on Good Friday.

I see her maybe being an LI on ME3, but only if you played your cards exactly right in ME2.

Shoot who knows.  Probably not going to happen because it just doesn't seem like it with Samara turning Shep down and her no longer being obligated to the mission.  With that said, one could argue either way.  Personally I doubt it will happen, but you never know.

Thinking on yorkj86's question about what other Justicars might look like, I began wondering what a "medieval" Justicar of old would look like and what elements of modern asari garb might be relics of/inspired by ancient tradition. Had I more time and skill, I'd try drawing some sketches using Samara as a template.

Since the thread is dead, I thought I might as well describe the basic idea for my Samara & Shepard picture commission:

The picture takes place in an Asari amphitheater of sorts.  Since Bioware seems to have gone with a Greco-Roman feel in describing the Asari, and since the Justicars are a throwback to another era, I thought it would be fitting if the scene took place in an old, stereotypical Greek, and therefore Asari, location.

The amphitheater's construction is a pure, bright white stone.  I'm not sure if I want the stone to be rounded, or set in thick, perfectly square or rectangular blocks.  The amphitheater may be in poor condition, or it may look very well-maintained, either because it's new, or because it's been kept in good condition throughout its long, long existence.

The perspective of the picture is tricky.  Ascending rows of stone seats would be visible in the background, but the focus of the picture would be of two figures in the foreground.  The "viewer" would be viewing the two figures slightly to their sides.

Samara and Shepard are in the foreground.  Shepard is kneeling.  This is the default male Shepard.  He has his head tilted upwards, at an angle.  He is looking up in to Samara's eyes.  He is expressionless, but his eyes are open wide, so his brow would be raised slightly.  Samara stands before him.  She is looking down in to his eyes.  She is smiling softly, and has a couple of fingers under his chin, as if encouraging him and/or inspiring hope and strength in him.

Behind Samara and Shepard are a row of other Justicars, standing on a raised white, semicircular platform.  If it makes the artist's life easier, they may be faceless, and indistinguishable, apart from their clothes, which should establish that they are Justicars (this is why I asked what people thought about a Justicar dress-code).

That Samara is smiling at Shepard, even while in this apparently hallowed place and in this hallowed occasion, is the most important part of the picture.  She's among her peers, who would of course expect that she remain emotionally distant, but here she is, showing a bit of herself to Shepard, while she has her back to the other Justicars (not to show them disrespect, but that's just simply how everyone is arranged in the picture).

My constant concern is that this might be extremely out-of-character for Samara, but maybe that's the point.  It's to show trust, and to show that Shepard has earned her respect.

Thoughts?

What about just a photo of Shep naked and Samara holding a leash around his neck?

just kidding

Well I never saw much relation between the Asari and the Greeks myself before, although I haven't really thought about it.

How about changing the setting to Earth in an actual ancient Greek amphitheatre? With signs indicating that there has been conflict and perhaps flames in the background as if Earth had been attacked and the Justicars were helping to defend it. Perhaps a statue of one of the Greek godesses in the background somewhere as a further symbol to the relation. That would be pretty cool to me.

I envisioned the scene taking place on Thessia.  I don't want to add anything else to the picture because it's already complex enough as is in terms of drawing it.  The scene is supposed to be peaceful, and serene.

Ok, well I am picturing these Asari Justicars helping out the humans on Earth from invasion. Personally I think that would be more thrilling so to speak than a peaceful setting. Also in an Earth ancient amphitheatre.  Have you already drawn a sketch?

Dude think of the irony.

Who was it that made that comment a while back about Samara still being alive back when humanity was exploring the earth in boats? Idk, but i just remembered it and it got me thinking along a similar line of thought.

Asari can live for a thousand years or more. Imagine being born in a medieval period where leaches were the proscribed treatment for a head cold, the most common type of government was the feudal system, and earth, wind, fire, and air elements still formed the basis of science. Being born in that and living to see your people begin to explore space.

Then again maybe being a long lived people their technology or culture naturally progressed at a slower rate than humans.

Justicars rarely leave asari space at all. I personally thing it's highly unfeaseable for that scenario to happen. just say...
