So I had a thought on the Code, seeing some comments on it in another thread. (And while I was trying to tear myself away from these forums to get some work done, *sigh*...)
When Shepard first starts asking about the Justicars code, the Asari detective (can't remember her name) has a tough time explaining it. She talks about how Justicars embody the highest ideals of Asari culture, and if a Justicar killed someone, no one would question it. This is part of why Samara's presence on Illium is explosive, because she might be compelled to kill a Volus or something, who might not ascribe to Asari ideals.
When you finally meet Samarra, Shepard's responses show he doesn't quite have his head around the Code. I imagine some players kind of felt confused at this point. I thought about it, and said, "Well, of course it doesn't make sense to me. I'm *human*. They're Asari. They've got their own culture, traditions, and ways of doing things."
It was a nifty little example of culture clash. A common problem in international relations is people tend to assume other peoples and cultures have basically the same attitudes and ideals that they do. Even after Samara's loyalty mission, Shepard (and the player) have a better understanding of it, but they still don't thoroughly 'get it'. It's a cultural divide. It's like trying to explain to a non-Muslim why Mecca is important; they may intellectually understand it, but they don't FEEL it. It's nice to see a little bit of 'alien-ness' brought in in a game where most of the races have a lot in common with humans, on the surface.

Thanks for the sig creation. I am trying to figure out how to add it as a signature.

@ RPGmom28: Just go to the top of the social page, click "Profile" and go down to "Forum settings." From there, all you do is add image tags with the image URL in between them. ([img.]http://image.com[/img.]) Remove the periods for the image to show up in your sig, save the changes, and voila!
As for Samara: Love her. The introduction of the Justicars made the asari at least 100 times more interesting for me. If she's not in Mass Effect 3, I'd feel robbed.

Samara is the sexiest character in the game imho. She is also a kick ass biotic and is choice number one for the biotic shield mission. I have tried loyal non romanced Jack and someone dies, i have tried loyal non romanced and loyal romanced Miranda and someone dies, the only squadmate who seems able to do it is Samara, she gets the job everytime.

Samara Would have been a great Squad Member in ME3 . . . If I hadn't killed her in favor of her Daughter. Dominate is so much better then Reave.(also Asaiasal I picked Jack for that because of her Upgrades and noone dies. [tali for Tunnels, Zaeed for Escort Miranda for first Squad and Jacob for Second] )

I tell ya Samara is just the most visually striking character in a video game I have ever seen. I don't know why she just is to me.

Samara was the only character that I genuinely wanted my Shep to romance, also, she is in my party for every possible mission.

Really? I dunno, I find Reave awesome. Does Dominate work through Shields/Barriers/Armor? Samara's ability to tear through defenses makes her a uniquely useful biotic.

I like Samara, but I could see her role in the group easily replaced by Liara's return. Not that I'm lobbying for that, just seems like a rational substitution.

And what's with all the MILF comments... there is WAYYYYYYYYYYYY more to Samara than that. Everyone thinks because she wears 'that outfit' that she 'wants it' or something.
wrong.
she's gotten to the stage in life where she just doesn't give a *beep* and she'll wear what she wants. simple.
I am GLAD she is not romance-able (that sweet little talk scene is good enough)... it keeps a certain amount of 'class' attached to her character. she does her job, she has her beliefs, and no one is going to screw with that.
now THAT is a great character.

I thought her loyalty power was "cleavage."
