Asari are females.

Shepard is bisexual.

Go back to 4chan to tell the other 15 years olds how hardcore you are.

LOL. Suing someone for posts? Srsly? I think any judge would choke from laughter when saw this. At least here:lol:

I think technically it is probably quite possible, but so expensive/ low yield that it is never done.

Remember I'm not talking about simple opinions.. I'm talking about threats of violence and the like (there are good examples of this in yesterday's "why a gay shepard is a bad idea for ME 3" thread.

People long ago said it was a joke to think music publishers would ever sue end users for piracy.  It took a long time but a few scumbags WERE finally made examples of.

There were threats of violence?

Of all the giggles I had from the last one, I don't remember any serious violence threats.

And good lord...

See the posts saying things like "if you were here I'd have bashed your head in by now."  That's not an exact quote but I can't be assed to go wade through all of that tripe again.  There are several like that.

Oh!

That.

I just took that as a usual "internet tough guy IM SO HXC" act, but make of it what you will. When people say things like that, it's usually in the midst of rage, and over the internet.

Chill.

I've never told someone I wanted to injure them, even on the internet.  But that type of thing is one reason I keep my internet identity fragmented and disconnected from my real-life identity.

I once thought all the trolls were on one-side (aka the people who don't want gay romances) but if this thread is any evidence, the people who troll the most are the gay-romance supporters. I mean, you have someone who wants to sue people!!!

Looks like the true trolls are most of the gay-romance supporters.

Like I said, use your energy on something more important like getting equal rights for marriage in your state instead of whining about a video game.

So is this what you do when your attempt to make a point falls apart as ridiculously badly as did your whole, "FemShep screwing an asari isn't gay!" thing?

Just admit you made an iditotic statement and move on.  No need to try to obfuscate with changing the subject.

I think the most idiotic statements are from people who don't know the Mass Effect universe (such as yourself) and those you resort to sueing people.

If you actually payed attention to what Liara and female Shepard were talking about in ME1 (Instead of wanking off to the prospect of them doing it) you would see that everything Liara says is simplified so it would be easier to understand (since most people here seem to have not passed grade 9 science).

Including the Bioware writers, 'cause their cosmology is ridiculous.

You admitted that humans view asari as female.  I'll repost your quote if you want.  So I'll ask again: how is FemShep having sex with someone she views as female not a homosexual relationship?

Have you read the thread may I ask? I haven't provoked a soul. All I have done is state my opinion on the matter.

Yes, yesterday you were expressing the desire to physical harm people who disagree with you, today you seem to be on your best behavior.  I see from an earlier post you regret posting what you did last night, hopefully that's a "gosh that was stupid, I feel bad" regret and not an "oh, that was injudicious" regret.  But I suppose seeing you regret that at all is a good thing.

To be honest, I don't know what the hell I was thinking last night, I truly regret ever posting it. All I tried to do with this thread was post my opinion with as little emotional attachment as possible.
Last night my blood was up and I just ran with it, bad idea on the net, I know.

Ok, I suppose I will not snipe at you today then.  *sigh*  There goes my fun.  :P

The fact is, people are asking for OPTIONS in the GAME, and you're arguing against it based on your own personal feeling towards homosexuals.

No, I'm arguing for it because it would break the immersion for me. Thats it.
Please read my OP...

It could be done with extreme subtlety. The converstation option could not be easily available who those that dont enter the conversation with romance in mind (like it could be a lead on from a miscellaneous info part of the dialogue wheel, something you'd have to go digging for). There are hundreds of ways it could be done without breaking your precious immersion. You know this could be done tastefully while remaining 100% unobtrusive, yet refuse to acknowledge it.

All your responses seem to be how you want YOUR Shepard to be, like it's the only Shepard available in the game. And all your reasoning seems to amount to "Shepards a real manly man, and real men can't be gay."

This! By your logic everyone should have the option to have their characters in every video game be gay as well as straight.

Freedom of speech and expression go both ways you know.

I showed this thread to some homosexuals, and they laughed their asses off. While you guys are arguing over the internet about gay romances in a video game, they are actually fighting to have equal rights as gays.

Some people can multitask.  Some people can spell words correctly.  Different people have different skillsets.  You should be aware of that.

These semantics don't make it any less a lesbian romance.
The character is feminine, has female features, is classified sexually as female, overall monogendered.
Outsiders see two women going at it, that is what is generally thought.
It is an f/f romance. And your beloved wiki says Kelly is a romance option for both women and men.

First thing we have to get straight off the bat, is that hate speech is protected under US law.

This is the single funniest and dumbest statement I have ever seen on the internet.

Really?

Please, find me instances where Hate Speech lost in court and was heavily restricted.  Rght, you can't, because Hate Speech has NEVER been heavily restricted, because it's protected under US law (as long as there isn't an imminent danger of defamation and incitement of violence).

Please, otherwise tell me why hate-groups like Fred Phelps, the KKK, and neo-****'s are allowed to have public rallies of hate?

Sigh...I said no such thing about wanting to beat up homosexuals. But in accordance with my starting position I wont be flamebait for you.
The fact that you keep mentioned these attorneys and such is so rediculous, even Illierianna (who most of the time opposes my view) called you on it.
I'm in England mate, your lawyers can't do a damn thing. Not to mention how flimsy the premise is. "Someone said somthing bad to me on the net so I'll take em to court!"
Are you insane?

It's amazing to me that Bioware allows a thread titled "Gays Whining" to go on this long, but they instantly shut down any thread talking about gay romance in Mass Effect. Haven't there been threads shut down every day on that topic?

Clearly Bioware is ambivalent about its gay and lesbian fans. That interview someone linked to where they talk about 3rd person versus 1st person is a cop out and a bunch of crap. The Mass Effect team CLEARLY has issues about gay characters (isn't Mass Effect developed in Texas now?) and they are trying to rationalize their inability to allow for a MM Shepard romance. It's not that it wouldn't fit into the story. The fact is that they don't WANT to fit it into the story. That's the difference. If they really cared they would make an effort.

Why don't they make an effort? Could be lots of reasons. Homophobia, lack of corporate support, or some combination. Yeah, the anti-gay posters who abound in these forums are annoying, but the fact is that Bioware is supporting them by making specious arguments about 3rd person vs 1st person nonsense.

As someone who works in the gaming industry I call bulls**t on Bioware, because that's what that interview is.
