Chuck Norris is a homophobe, yes, and a rabid evangelical Christian.

The guy posting here is Cluck Norris.  He has some things in common with Chuck Norris, but Chuck Norris at least has a proofreader for his columns.

The game should have a gay romance option just from a human decency standpoint.

Imagine being a young gay person already dealing with fear and intolerance in every part of your life... then you boot up Mass Effect (like we all do) for a little harmless escapism... only to find that the game (like so much of the rest of the world) considers you to be a deviant/ defective? This is clearly implied by the omission of same sex romance options.

Are you opponents so dense/ cruel/ incapable of empathy that you can't see this? It would have ZERO effect on your life but could provide EXTREMELY valuable validation to someone else. Grow up. Grow some compassion.

First off, let me state that I myself am gay and I believe that everyone should just drop it. Bioware is almost definitely not going to add a M/M romance in this game, it's just how it goes. I highly doubt it's anything against the gays, and if it is then just don't support them anymore, it's as easy as that. I think it would be a waste to add this especially when there is only one more installment left in the series. Yes many of you think it would be a nice thing to add, but really, look at what your complaining about, a video game.

Finally, thank you for being rational.

Tell your amigos to stop whining.

So without me attacking anyone or demeaning gay people in any way I am the following according to the trolls ;-

A homophobe
Someone who should be banned
Closed minded
Disgusting

All this because I posted my opinion? Thankfully the more together people from both sides of the argument can see that I am justified to have an opinion. Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean I shouldn't be allowed to say it.

I can't have the opinion that you're a disgusting excuse for a human being? The "it's only my opinion" defence doesn't work for long.

You made a damn flamebait topic that basically amounts to "I'm glad those gays aren't being represented in my media" and make unflattering comparisons about their values "tarnishing" your experience.

You claim not to be attacking or demeaning anyone, but your actions speak for themselves.

What did you expect to gain from creating this thread? Other than antagonisng the gay community on this forum?

EDIT: You are certainly entitled to your opinion. I find male gay sex digusting and unnatural in itself, but so do most straight men. That being said I haven't attacked anyone. I'm not saying that being gay is an immoral thing, try and read the whole thread before you come here and call me names to vent.

The majority of straight men don't find gay sex disgusting, actually.  Lesbian porn is awesome.

You're some kind of bizarre straight guy if you think otherwise.

Sigh...you just keep on giving. I typed out a paragraph response to this but your posts (ranging from Super Hot Wife to I'll get my lawyer to quoting righteous quotes like the Paladin of today) are just so rediculous.

This is more like it, and something I can agree with.

That whole stint where you were being a white knight with a lawyer buddy ready to take down the hatred of the internet was absolutely ridiculous.

Yes, we are cruel.  I don't want them to have any happiness.  Also, BioWare definitely meant to make homos feel defective by not putting a ****** romance.  Clearly.

If people want to report me for voicing my opinion, thats fine. The fact remains I've been the victim of attacks, and never the attacker.

Many years of studies have consistently shown that men who find gay sex disgusting are usually gay themselves.

Straight men have no reaction either way to it.

Wow. This has got to be the most over-exaggerating post ever.

First, no where in the Mass Effect universe does it look down on gays! lol. If your feelings are hurt because there isn't an option to be gay in a god damn video game, then you have serious mental deficiencies. If I was gay, I would be more worried about being treated equally IN THE REAL WORLD.

So your knowledge of nature is innate? Homosexuality happens everywhere in the animal kingdom, it's pretty natural by most definitions.

And no, most straight guys dont find it disgusting. Does that mean we like to sit and watch it or have it forced upon us? Of course not. However disgust is not an emotion that comes to mind.

Wrong.  They started to put those options in but were afraid of the controversy that would be generated by the vocal intolerant  (like yourself, the christian right, and those countries that still consider homosexuality a capital crime).

This is understandable from a business standpoint.

It is unconscionable from a moral standpoint.

Tarnish the image? Somehow being gay is a "tarnish"? Sorry buddy, but relationships are just relationships, you can't put a qualifier on someone's feelings.

I knew the gaming community in general had a few homophobes, but I haven't seen anything this blatant in years.

I think you're taking that part out of context. He's not saying, being gay tarnishes everything, but because this game is SOLELY on a 1 person hero for an entire galaxy, that to give that option would, in some way, destroy that image, even if it meant that you just gave them an option to be gay.

In some way, I do understand the small gay community, but when you're talking about making a huge and epic story, some things wouldn't sit well with a much larger community. It's about making a character so iconic, and it's also about business.
