We are at an age where we are at the most tolerent to alternative lifesyles that we have ever been. But it opened up a whole new can of worms to where a company can't make a decision on a role their iconic character takes without certain people going up in arms on Biowares decision. Then anyone who disagrees is called a homophobe and should be banned and condemed. Part of equality is accepting others opinions

Bioware has been pretty groundbreaking on including Gay/bisexual choices in game I respect them for that. I also respect the fact that they have the right to make a decision on not having the option on their own IP. Just remember how far things have come around this would not have been an issue 15 years ago. We are in a better place in the world for being more acceptable, but that doesn't mean that every company in the entertainment industry needs to make every decision with the GLBT community in mind just to avoid people saying they demand that option.

To be honest, having the option for a gay romance would really bother me, just because they come off as extremely artifical and annoying. While I never had done a gay romance (I'm straight), the characters who are available either come off as extremely annoying and sterotypical (Zevran, although he is funny and I prefer him to Leliana). Female on female also comes off as artificial, but for some reason they seem to be easier to write. It does make sense as females are more open to gay relationships than men (I'm talking science not opinion, so please don't argue that I'm a immatuer male who gets a hard on at the slightest hint of lesibian sex please). When they are thrown it is most definitely just a half assed attempt at pleasing a minor fraction of the gaming community. And saying that Shepard can sleep with an alien but can't sleep with a man is not a valid argument as all the aliens still have a female form , hell, even Tali has a nice ass And I have to agree that the gay community does come off as whiny as they believe that EVERY time a gay option isn't included it's because of homophobia or complete disregard for the gay community...

Of course.  Presented respectfully and intelligently he can believe whatever he wants and I'll defend his rights just like everyone else's.

His mocking, derogatory (and in some cases threatening) remarks are completely inappropriate.

To those that have a hard time seeing the difference, all I can say is tht the line is pretty clear to the rest of us.

Why are people acting as if gays are actively repressed in the ME universe, ha ha? Just because there's no option to bone your male squad mates as male Shepard doesn't mean that we ought to go out and hang some queers. I don't see Shepard being obsessed with feet, or underage girls, or animals, or BDSM, which are all sexual preferences outside the norm, so should I be worried that they aren't included in the game?

"Oh no, Shepard can't be gay. I hate this game."

Fine, if you're not going to play the game because Shepard can't be fine, yes, that's alright, and you may voice your opinion to Bioware about it. Just understand that it's not some civil rights issue or something, it's just that the characters are not gay. Shepard hardly even says what you expect him to (or shoots where you want him to for that matter) half the time, and you're complaining that you can't engage in some minority sex act in a video game about saving the universe? The game is an RPG, and there are limited choices to be made within the story, but it's not real life. You aren't free to select a twink for your LI, or butter your toast manually, or carefully gauge Shepard's levels of urine and feces, or his need to sleep. The characters are hardly that deep as it is and could all be written in a few minutes. If you want a game where you can do mundane obscure acts such as having sex with a guy or having some deep romantic connection that has little to do with the main story then I would suggest you try the Sims rather than Halo: Gears of War edition.

Take a stats class, you know nothing of studies and random sampling
