I think it would make a great sociological study to see that, even in a fictitious setting, people are more ok with Man on alien relationships than man on man. My opinion of the people arguing against an OPTION is to get over yourselves, and yes you are likely some judgmental prejudice people whether you like to admit it or not. That would be like arguing that there should not be an option to make Shepard female because that tarnishes the hero image. If you have those ideals, that's you, not everyone does. Simply don't choose that option.



Sadly these threads arn't even worth discussing. The people against OPTIONS are deadset in their prejudice views and will not change. I could understand if it was a discussion on whether the character was strictly gay. Some people will never be comfortable with letting others have freedom, even if its as simple as a few lines of code in a videogame.

Nah just brought her in to read a couple of your comments and get a laugh. Funny thing, when I make her laugh in the morning...usually leads to otehr things. Good looking out . Done with this now, had to get another laugh. Hope the mods step in and lock this sometime soon...completely ridiculous.

The only people that are actually addressing the issue at hand are not even arguing anymore. People like endurance_117 just come on and post direct quotes from CEOs at Bioware saying that they specifically designed Shepard to be a certain way, and that the character isn't supposed to represent you or your exact choices. This is why the dialogue wheel doesn't clearly represent what Shepard is going to say. There's no point in discussing. The reason that male Shepard cannot have gay sex is because he is not gay. Mario RPG was an RPG, and there weren't even any romances in that. Oh my god, it is discriminating against people with sexual preferences.



Get over yourselves.

You claim faulty logic, but present nothing.

My logic is that Shep's dialogue is hetero, has been, will be.  He's an established iconic character that's hetero.  BioWare agrees.

There's my logic for not having a ****** Shep in ME3.

Man on man romance would only hurt the overall image of Shepherd as an icon, whether the gay community argues this point or not.

What's more ludicrous is that they seem to want every male in the game to date to be suddenly romanceable as a gay man...it's rediculous. For example, the very first time you pursue some dialogue with Kaiden in ME1, without even going anywhere near flirtaceous behaviour, not only does he mention Liara in a sexual context, but also recalls a lost love on Jump Zero. Kaiden is straight, that's how it is. If Bioware were to change him now, gross error.
Not to mention Thane, he has a family, if you explored his backstory you can just feel the love he had for his wife coming through the damn screen at you.
There is a minority argument that "Oh, they can be Bi then...", to that I say, don't talk so baldy headed. Clearly it would break the immersion. Not romanceable in ME1, not romanceable in ME2, see the trend? The are iconic characters with established backstories, to change them would damage the game immessurably.

Ever since the first ME came out theres been "Gaymance" threads, and thankfully none of them have had the weight to influence a decision, and I for one am thankful for that. Keep gay sex away from our beloved characters please, the argument for it is baseless, you gay guys represent an extremely small portion of the ME community and over 3 years you have made your point. Now's the time to just stop it.

All of the arguments the gay community come up with are weak as it is. "Oh, we should have the choice!" as if it's a God given right? Be happy you were born in such a tolerant century as it is. It's just irritating that all these people are just pestering Bioware when no one except like a couple hundred people give's a toss...let Bioware focus on making a better game, not devoting time and resources to pander to an extremely small portion of the community.

 They are not as bad as the people wanting a Tali romance or a Garrus romance.

 Not trying to support the gay romance but if people are able to love Turians, Drell, and Quarian then why not a gay/lesbian ?

 If People can get Galactic Interspecies Erotica then why not Homoerotic ?
