Female on female on the other hand just sounds fun, so there is no biological-imperative to reject the idea.

If the debate was over they wouldn't keep sticking gay sex and dialogue in the game but deciding not to activate it. They quite obviously have the intention of including it, but are prevented by something late in development.

Shepard is bisexual. Sorry if that makes you uncomfortable, but you are playing a bisexual character every time you load up the game.

It's fairly simple, the fact that in the first 2 epic adventures Shepherd never even had the option to be gay, but he had the chance to bed a lot of lovelies, cementing him as a straight guy. If the option's had been there all along, this wouldn't be an issue, but to suddenly introduce it would break the immersion factor a significant portion of the fanbase.

Also, Tali's relationship is totally valid, how many times in life do friends become lovers?

Often enough, but that is not what I mean. You're saying it shouldn't be an option because it's not been so far (your arguement is based solely on that) but that's what Tali was- not an option for the first game. There was no hint of that, exactly the same as there being no hint of Sheperd being gay. That Tali is a woman is irrelivent.

Methinks you're seeing only what you want to see.

In this case, you refuse the obvious evidence in front of you, toss BioWare's president's comments out the window, plug up your ears and sing LALALALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU.

No ****** relationships in ME3, and I'm damn happy for it.

Prevented by something.. HMM....

Right.  They had time to do it in DA:O, but didn't do it in ME2.  GOTTA BE A CLUE BUDDY.

He's not bi, and you saying this only reinforces how sad your life is that you have to delude a fantasy universe into  a separate fantasy universe of your own, as if the first one isn't fantasy enough.

This made me lol.  A lot of homophobic heterosexuals think being gay is a choice, and some send their kids off to camps to be re-educated straight.  Not that that works very well.

Wow. So insecure that someone even suggesting that you're playing a bisexual character causes you to attack them personally...

Commander Shepard is bisexual. If you can't handle it, you're probably off playing a game like Call of Duty.

Ahhhh Moriarty, holding the line I see. I noticed my thread got locked. Also read that IGN article. I'm SOOOOOOO happy there won't be a ****** option for these loons.

Hey Red! Yeah man, that other thread got trolled to the max. People just didn't want to listen to a valid opinion, only dress it down as much as they could.
That's why I've avoided all attempts at flaming/trolling here. Just the facts, as they say :D

And the article settles the debate for now so, we can get on with enjoying our game time.

I think it's hilarious that the Shepard, or should I say, LadyShepard and DudeShepard, are supposed to be distinct, well-defined characters in this respect. They can be ****s, incredibly virtuous, xenophobic, whatever, all completely arbitrarily (as if I have to say this, but if you just pick random wheel choices the sense of Shepard as any kind of coherent character falls apart), but one thing's for sure: if he's a dude, he likes ladies. And if she's a lady, she likes dudes. And ladies. Well that pretty much proves it. (the Ray interview). But I was thinking of something else. I must admit I never played DAO, but I thought I understood by reading somewhere that as a gay, you had one one options for a gay romance. Would that mean there's one character which is only romanceable as a gay, so already gay no matter how your character is? So that would make sense with ME as every character has his/her own personality so can't be bi for a reason unknown (like Kaidan).

I actually happen to love Call of Duty, and kick major amounts of ass in it. If you are sitting there being condescending towards that AAA title and it's hardcore fanbase, then you just sound like a sour lemon.  That game is awesome, ME is awesome.  I would pick off your limbs one at a time in Modern Warfare 2 with my ACR or Intervention.

I actually see Biowares' answer to that question as highly suspect. I think they are afraid of what people 'may' think about having a gay male relationship. They offer everything but a gay Shep, then claim he's a pre-defined character? I don't buy it.
The whole "Shepard is straight by design" line doesn't hold up. This
is just the typical mainstream "homosexuality is only acceptable when
it's hot chicks doing it" mentality.

So... every xenophobic are identical? The only thing you can choose about Shepard is him being more renegade or paragon, not what he says, not what he thinks, only his alignment. You only chose predefined dialogue trees which are mostly limited to the alignment.

Typical or not, it is what it is, it's Bioware's show. And aside from the ravings of the smallest number of the fanbase, not including a gay romance (again) is unlikely to get a lot of people up in arms.

Anyway, come on guys, the horse is dead, its been beaten to death, only a red mist remains.

The article settles it for now, let's cease debate until somone gets some new news.

Yes because not wanting gay relationships in a game make a man insecure.

So, if I make up a story about a character that has the ability to fly, then scrap it out by the notion his main power being instead of flying becoming intangible and passing through walls, and the release it, it means that even though said character's power is intangibility and cannot fly anymore he's still a flying character?

Let's make this perfectly clear, when something is taken out of a project/story/fictional universe it means that it isn't there anymore, if M/M romance was taken out it means it never exist or existed and will not exist in such universe it isn't left lingering around.

I'm glad I read this article, I spent a significant number of posting yesterday trying to say virtually the same, and turns out I was right, thank you for clarifying Mr. Muzyka.
